My balayage

Posted on here for advice a while ago for my balayage (I was shitting myself about having it done). Got lots of horror stories but went ahead with it! Thought I would share my results for those interested!

My aim was to take all the warmth out of my blonde hair. Attached is the picture I took in. So she darkened my roots and bleached the ends, brushing the colour on and merging/blurring the lines somewhere in between. I also had a toner put on. The bleach lifted really well but she (and I) were disappointed with the root as it is still a warm colour. She knows what to do next time and had warned me it might take two appointments. So the colour isn't exactly what I want but I was warned and I've dyed my hair enough to know it can be unpredictable. So I will be going back again.

Her technique, I feel, was very good. I have inspected my hair and I cannot see any stripes or dots, it seems to merge naturally although will look nicer when the colour is darker.

Attached is the photo I took in and my hair before

Attaching a few after pics as the camera just doesn't get the colour right!

How much was it ? I'm sorry, I would be disappointed with that.

Pringlemunchers · 10/05/2019 13:18

Just to clarify , not the colour , that is nice, but it is not what I think of balayage (sp)

crophopper · 10/05/2019 13:19

I like your curls Smile

A good purple shampoo will help lift the yellow tones...Fudge or Bleach London are the best ones I've tried (and I've tried a lot).

IHaveBrilloHair · 10/05/2019 13:19

I also like the colour but it doesn't look at all like balyage.

crophopper · 10/05/2019 13:19

And yes it's not balayage, it just looks like an all over colour.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 10/05/2019 13:20

Are you happy with it?

Personally it doesn’t look like balayage at all to me, but if you like it, that’s what matters.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 10/05/2019 13:21

Oh hang on. How many photos are there? I can see two?

crophopper · 10/05/2019 13:23

There are four pics. Two in the first post, two in the second.

NineinaBed · 10/05/2019 13:25

The colour and cut is lovely but doesn't look like the first picture. Doesn't look ash blonde.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 10/05/2019 13:27

Yep I can only see the 2 photos in the first post. Sorry OP. I thought the before photo was the after photo!

weAllSingAlongLikeBefore · 10/05/2019 13:46

It won't let me upload anymore pics sadly for today. From the internet clips I've looked at she definitely did the technique of balayage. I think what you are all seeing if the problem with my roots, they did not darken as we wanted them too.
In terms of the picture? I'm disappointed. In terms of "does my hair look nice and a brighter blonde?" I'm happy. So I hope another visit will lift it more! Yes have armed myself with purple shampoo! It was £80 including cut.

I'm not sure it looks much different, sorry

Your hair looks lovely in the photo where there is a curl in your hair. Looks soft and natural.

NowWeAreSuckingDiesel · 10/05/2019 13:50

I can only wee the photo you took in and the before pic

weAllSingAlongLikeBefore · 10/05/2019 13:51

Bugger seem have issues with photos then! It does look much brighter in real life. I have straightened my hair to do a proper comparison but it says I've reached my photo limit Hmm

madamedeluxe · 10/05/2019 13:53

Lovely but it looks blonde all over.

weAllSingAlongLikeBefore · 10/05/2019 13:58

Bloody just my luck that I go to an actual "balayage specialist" beauty place and end up with not balayage!

I suppose it was an all over colour, she just mixed two colours together and painted them on freehand but yes I guess that counts as all over! I assume I have massively over paid then (£80)... At least the colour is ok ConfusedBlush

There are no after photos on the thread - it’s causing confusion

weAllSingAlongLikeBefore · 10/05/2019 14:11

There are after photos on my second post, straight under my OP. Some people have spotted them some haven't.
