Really gritty body scrubs

As the title says(!), what are your recommendations for a really gritty body scrub? Tried a couple recently that haven't been aggressive enough for my tastes! I love the St Ives apricot face one so was thinking the equivalent grittiness for body! Thanks

Same 🙂 I use the apricot stuff on my body it's fab. Also the sanctuary original one is pretty decent, I used to gorgeous glass jar after wards and topped it up with sugar and olive oil, works a treat😊

Ren salt scrub is my favourite. I hate paying for it though.

You can scrub well with granulated sugar and olive oil (or any oil). It’s nice and scrubby and better than salt if you have any cuts or anything. Otherwise I agree that Soap and Glory seem to be scrubbier than others.

Another vote for the ren salt one. Use it on dry skin first, then dampen your hands and go over skin again, then scrub it off under the shower. It is £££ though. Salt scrubs are the best I find.

Whatever you do, don't get one of those coffee ground ones unless you like a brown shower cubicle and fucking coffee grounds in your pubes. I had to shampoo them twice to remove all the fuckers.

Whilst I agree that coffee grounds are rather messy, they can be rinsed away in a few mins. Every second day, I use my leftover coffee grounds from the day before to give everything a good scrub. My body skin has never been so soft and it’s totally free.

Fine sea salt mixed with shower gel, mix in a Tupperware tub and it keeps for ages.

Alternatively, you can melt coconut oil and mix that with sugar or salt.

I love a good gritty scrub, and have never found a store bought one as good as a home made sugar or salt scrub.

What about a combination of gritty-ish scrub + exfoliating gloves?

Ooh thanks, lots to try! Salt scrub or just using the face one on body (why didn't I think of that?!) sounds like the way forward.

It is my go-to product when I want to feel nice. It does lovely things to my skin.

Get some pink Himalayan salt or sea salt, mix in any oil (coconut, olive, almond) to right consistency and store in a jar. It’s a great scrub for pennies and no unnecessary additives. Can even add essential oil if you want a scent.

All those making their own beware they turn your cubicle/bath into an ice rink. Somehow the bought ones never seem quite so slippy.

Whilst I don't normally like Lush their rubadubdub scrub is lovely, as is the Palmolive scrubby shower gel (blue marine type fragrance) with exfoliating gloves

Not sure if it counts as gritty, but a massively effective one for me is Clarins Exfoliating Body Scrub. It has bamboo in it somewhere, and it's fab. I use it on my legs and arms, and occasionally on my face when I have an acne breakout.

Doesn't leave the bath like an ice rink either!

Espa do really lovely (and spendy) salt and oil scrubs. Very scrubby and your bathroom smells like a spa afterwards!

My favourite one was discontinued, so I've been shopping around. Most are just jelly-like with some pathetic little blobs of exfoliator in them. Useless.

This, on the other hand, is a winner! Properly blasts your skin off! Cheap and smells nice!

Oh and the Clinique one isn't too bad either, if you want to go a bit more spendy. Sparkle skin, if I remember correctly.

I love Optiat coffee grounds scrubs. Make my skin feel all alive and tingly.

I started a thread like this recently after the st ives body scrub was seemingly discontinued. I now use the st ives facial scrub on my body, as far as I can tell it's exactly the same! So seeing as you use it on your face already maybe give it a try.

You need the green cloths, from Amazon there has been threads about them.
I have them they are by far the best for exfoliating there's magic in them!
Korean Italy cloths they are called.

Bodyshop Pink Grapefruit doesn't leave an oily coated feeling.

I used to like the Clinique one mentioned but does get expensive.
I've started dry brushing before I get in the shower and that has made a big difference, plus once you've bought a brush, it doesn't cost anything!

The best ever is the St Tropez one, it’s so thick and gritty!

Ohh I love the smell of Dirty Works ( I have the handcream and had a handwash/lotion duo)
