Any guesses on what Meghan will wear to introduce baby Sussex? I'm guessing Givenchy as it's her go-to designer for big events.

Then again she could surprise us all and come out in a JoJo Maman Bébé breastfeeding tunic!

They probably just wanted to get it out of the way.

Aren’t Kate and William going to Wales today? Presume they’ve gone by helicopter so there should be some photos fairly soon.

M&H’s pr guy has moved to the Cambridge household.
I think the new or lady has probably started already, hence the links to us media.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 08/05/2019 10:13

I agree PR has been a shambles. Too much released without thought for the consequences. They really need to stay off social media till they have a proper strategy. This is why the queen wouldn't let them separate entirely from BP.

It's hard not to soften when you see Harry's excited face though.

AhoyDelBoy · 08/05/2019 10:14

I have just seen that we have a Royal baby news special at 9:40pm (2.5 hours time). So the appearance must be some time around then. It’s not like they can fill an hour beforehand like they can with weddings.

BertrandRussell · 08/05/2019 10:15

“But Grumble why say she went into labour in the early hours when clearly she went into labour on Sunday,”
Maybe she went into labour at 1 in the morning on Monday?

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 08/05/2019 10:16

Problem appears to be the lack of coordination between 4 households: BP, Clarence House, KP and Sussex.
Dicky Arbiter, former press secretary said on Twitter a few days ago, that there is a steering committee, called the Way ahead group, to plan engagements in advance and avoid diary clashes, such as a Harry’s on / off trip to Amsterdam.

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/05/2019 10:16

Given the weather today I'm not expecting much in the way of fashion on the Cambridge trip to
Wales. A cagoule and waterproof trousers maybe? Tbh I wouldn't be surprised if that's what William wears!!

Thanks for that @ahoydelboy
Nothing announced here afaik

BoglingToAswad · 08/05/2019 10:17

But Grumble why say she went into labour in the early hours when clearly she went into labour on Sunday, and she had already had the baby hours ago? An absolute mess.

How do you know when she went into labour?! Honestly if they annoy you so much that you need to pick everything apart wouldn't you be better off just not paying attention to them?

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 08/05/2019 10:18

Aren’t they going to Anglesey?
Will be nice for them to visit their old home town.

SevenSeasofRye · 08/05/2019 10:19

Curly Fergie said at some point that if you wanted to speak to someone in the RoyK households you had to send a message via a footman . Communication was dreadful and still archaic. Perhaps it’s still a bit like that.

BertrandRussell · 08/05/2019 10:19

Once again I find myself in the bizarre position of defending a member of the royal family. I genuinely can’t see what they’ve done wrong. Aren’t all you royalists delighted by Harry announcing it so charmingly?

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 08/05/2019 10:20

Kate, William Anglesey itinerary

They’re going to Carnafon as well. Probably tentatively preparing to be future Prince & Princess of Wales

SevenSeasofRye · 08/05/2019 10:20

They apparently went to Hospital on Sunday afternoon. She was either already in labour or induced then.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 08/05/2019 10:21

@SevenseasofRye.
The RF love to write to each other.
I would imagine the younger ones use WhatsApp a bit though!

RhubarbIsEvil · 08/05/2019 10:22

I wouldn’t like to be flying in a helicopter in this weather.

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/05/2019 10:23

With all the resources the likes of the Mail and Sun have at their disposal, you'd think they would've noticed she'd gone to hospital! Maybe they're sore that they didn't.

“They apparently went to Hospital on Sunday afternoon. She was either already in labour or induced then”
And you know this how? And if it’s true and she was induced, she still could have gone into labour at 1am on Monday.....

BoglingToAswad · 08/05/2019 10:27

They apparently went to Hospital on Sunday afternoon. She was either already in labour or induced then.

'Apparently' is the key word here. Even if she did it's entirely possible that labour started in the early hours after an induction, they are not instantaneous!

SevenSeasofRye · 08/05/2019 10:33

That's true. It's unlikely she gave birth at 5 am after a few hours labour for a first delivery, but it's possible. None of us know of course. I just think announcing at 2pm that she went into labour in the early hours when she had given birth hours before is missing the mark.

BertrandRussell · 08/05/2019 10:46

Lots of women have quick labours.

And the notice was perfectly accurate. Went into labour...further announcement soon. So heads up-then announcement. Once again, they can’t do right for doing wrong, as my mil would say.

GrumbleBumble · 08/05/2019 10:47

One of my NCT group had a three and a half hour labour for number one, number two was an unplanned bathroom floor delivery in under two hours, number three was a planned home birth. Another of the group was a long lingering 3+ day labour. Another had a section booked for 39 weeks but actually went into labour a few days before the section date so had be added to the emergency list. I was a section at 42+3 when every attempt to induce labour failed totally and my baby was in severe distress. Every birth is different, it's impossible to predict when things will happen and how long they will take babies don't read the manual.

LikeDolphinsCanSwin · 08/05/2019 10:49

I think it was a heads up. As someone put it in the previous thread, it gave the media the chance to shuffle into position. Harry’s birth announcement followed pretty quickly.

AudacityOfHope · 08/05/2019 10:50

Maybe they're dying to show off their gorgeous baby! I know I was desperate to take them out in the world and enjoy the admiration Grin

BertrandRussell · 08/05/2019 10:51

Isn’t the average first labour 12 hours? Which means a lot must be much quicker.

BertrandRussell · 08/05/2019 10:52

Me too, Audacity. I used to go to the supermarket specifically so people would coo.
