Do you ‘whole body moisturise’ after washing?

I don’t but should I be? I only ever moisturise my face.

Myidentity I have a couple of the korean ones. They are really rough, but that bodyshop one looks about right.

@Reastie
Yes that’s the Garnier one which is lovely, deep moisture but light and absorbs fast. Sorry I didn’t check thread earlier. It’s quite runny but that’s great for summer and means it spreads fast.

Someone upthread mentioned not having stretch marks and I didn’t want to say that in the thread because I am not sure if it’s true...I reckon it depends on how young you are in your first pregnancy too. The younger the skin the more likely it is to get stretch marks maybe?
In any case I had my first baby at 29 so not so young but like the other poster it was my mother that gave me my first face moisturiser when I was around 14/15 and encouraged me to use body lotion soon after so I kind of got used to doing that from an early age and don’t have a single stretch mark, despite two pregnancies, and quite a lot of weight fluctuation and I’m now late 50’s. But I don’t think it’s to do with the daily greasing ritual Grin but more with age/skin type?
It’s definitely worth trying in pregnancy but I’d hate for anyone to think they got stretch marks because they didn’t moisturise.
I think it’s down to pure luck...

Thanks SoyYo

Stretch marks appear to have a large genetic component and there's no real evidence of moisturising preventing them, so if you're predisposed then you're probably going to get them... I got them, and they itched like a thousand tiny ants when they were new, but they don't bother me now.

I need to moisturise daily or I leave little showers of skin dust behind me every time I move my clothes, like taking off a jumper or going to the loo. My skin itches a lot when it's dry and every other time.

I don't use SLS or ALS products and haven't for years, but my skin is getting drier. I assume it's age 🤷‍♀️

@geeka thank you for confirming my suspicions re stretch marks. In any case you’re right they’re like badges of honour if you have them and are so tiny silvery that it’s hardly noticeable. The reason I said “young skin” is because when my two DS had a growth spurt in their early teens they both got stretch marks on their backs! i was very alarmed at the time but apparently quite normal and hardly noticeable now they’re fully grown.

I’m like you, go like a dry sad river bed if I don’t grease daily.
Old age I’m afraid as when I was young I did it out of habit (mother’s instructions!) but if I forgot and didn’t for a few weeks my skin survived. Couldn’t do that now!

Just my face - I have a daytime and night time routine. Morning moisturiser is coconut oil (very small) and night time is retinol face cream.

I only moisturise my legs after I shave them.

My skin can't hack the extra moisture. Does a fab job of moisturising itself 😂

I'm absolutely rubbish at whole body moisturising! Just don't have the time most mornings and it's too cold in the winter.

My workaround is keeping a bottle of baby oil in the shower and rub a small amount into my skin when it's wet then pat dry with my towel. No excess grease and does the job!
