Do you ‘whole body moisturise’ after washing?

I don’t but should I be? I only ever moisturise my face.

I use l'occitane shower oil after washing with shower gel. Skin is a lot better and I tan better now!

mimibunz · 06/05/2019 13:27

Yes, with Nivea Soft. Wouldn’t be without.

Pipandmum · 06/05/2019 13:30

Yes I do. Boots No7 serum and protect and perfect for face and Nivea Q10 for body And special heel cream as I am barefoot a lot.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 06/05/2019 14:36

Yes, always. My mum always did when I was a child, so I have done it since my teens because it just seemed the norm. I was surprised when a colleague told me she never did, and she was equally surprised that I do. I buy whatever’s on offer in Boots, usually a Nivea one, but also like Vaseline Intensive Care.

RedSheep73 · 06/05/2019 14:39

I do, but my skins feels dry if I don't. If your doesn't, perhaps you don't need to?

Annasgirl · 06/05/2019 14:44

Yes I do, have done since teens. I use whatever is on offer but have sensitive skin so Neutrogena, Nivea, E45 or Vaseline.

People are always amazed at how soft my skin is (on arms etc). Years ago it was boyfriends, now some friends notice it (have been married for years but DH still comments on how amazing my skin is).

I also scrub daily with the soap and glory pink mits - ever since Sally Hughes mentioned them. Before that I used the Japanese bath scrub but they are hard to come by.

FannyOMalley · 06/05/2019 14:45

Yep. I slap on blue Nivea every morning after my shower. Once or twice a week after an evening bath I use body oil.

MaryLennoxsScowl · 06/05/2019 14:46

No, but on the rare days it’s sunny enough to bare any skin I’ll moisturise the bits that are on show.

MaryLennoxsScowl · 06/05/2019 14:48

My torso doesn’t seem to mind not being moisturised, but my arms and legs look dry lizardlike unless I do it.

TheFlis12345 · 06/05/2019 15:08

Yes I do and have since my late teens, it’s a bit tedious but if I don’t my skin feels tight and a bit itchy. On the plus side, people always comment on how soft my skin is.

Ellapaella · 06/05/2019 15:25

I do my arms and legs but not my torso.

Ellapaella · 06/05/2019 15:26

I love soap and glory body butter. Smells divine.

CatyaPurella · 06/05/2019 15:58

Wow, how do you lot have the time?! I may do my legs after shaving if I am going out or seeing DP but I would rather have 10 mins extra in bed!!

DothrakiHoardeOnAnOpenField · 06/05/2019 16:00

I know this sounds like I am seriously thick I am - but how do you put baby oil on your skin? Just wondering if there is any other way than just using your bare hands as I hate the feel of it and my hands stay greasy for ages.

My skin is always so so dry since having kids and quite often feels like it's stretching if I don't moisturise.

Also while I'm at it, has anyone found a good way of applying moisturiser to your own back?

AlphaJura · 06/05/2019 16:16

I never have up until recently. I have always been told my skin is very soft and never felt I needed to. I have started recently because I keep getting itchy and the dr said it could be eczema and moisturising might help. I use Nivea.

JenniferJareau · 06/05/2019 16:18

I do as my skim gets dry otherwise.

Troels · 06/05/2019 16:49

I do. I think I have lizard genes way back in the family I'm so dry.

BloomedAgain · 06/05/2019 16:56

I should but can't bear stickiness. Is there anything completely non sticky?

SoyYo · 06/05/2019 16:56

Every day after showering all over (my back isn’t easy but I manage). Most of the time body shop body butters but if it’s very hot I swap to a lighter body lotion.
My skin feels horribly tight if I don’t so I need it. I’ve been doing it for decades and do have very soft skin.
I’m sure I’d be a lizard otherwise.
It only takes 5 mins top to do.
I don’t exfóliate as often as I should so following with interest specially kind body exfoliating tips.

luckylavender · 06/05/2019 17:08

I do, well arms legs & feet.

ExpletiveDelighted · 06/05/2019 17:19

No, virtually never and my skin is soft and doesn't get dry. My face seems to feel really tight after a shower and desperate for
moisturiser but the rest of me doesn't.

Ginkypig · 06/05/2019 17:29

I really want to but I never do because no matter which moisturiser and oils Iv used none have ever absorbed into my skin so it just sort of just stays sitting on top of my skin and it's horrible.

What's wrong with me? Blush

Laquila · 06/05/2019 18:36

It is very tedious so I am constantly on the hunt for an effective in-shower moisturiser. I sometimes use L’Occitane almond shower oil that a pp mentioned but it isn’t enough for me on its own. Palmers cocoa bath oil is good, and smallest delicious. I also rate the Soap and Glory whipped body butter (not normally keen on their products) and Aveeno. Many years ago the Body Shop used to do a body butter in a brown tub that smaller of cake - I used to look forward to moisturising with it and everyone used to sniff me and ask if I’d been baking 😁

Supersimpkin · 06/05/2019 18:40

Dermol, a pharmacy bath oil, both cleans and leaves you nice and soft.

Redcrayons · 06/05/2019 18:45

I try to every day, otherwise my skin gets very itchy and flaky. If i miss a day I really notice.

I got the Spa Sanctuary stuff in a gift set for chstimas and it was a total game changer.
