Wedding dress - I love all of these but they're budget-busters...any suggestions for similar but CHEAPER?

Dress 1

Dress 2

Dress 3

Bad idea to browse sites I can't ever afford Grin

Anyway, it's a city wedding, am mid-40s (cough) want something chic and unfussy (no meringues), long, not completely sleeveless but doesn't have to be long sleeved either. Am dithering about whether I really want to wear white/ivory (2nd marriage) but everything I really love seems to be in those colours anyway...

And of course want to look age-appropriate but not frumpy.

I could probably justify up to £500 but not much more.

I'm getting dress blindness now - help would be MUCH appreciated!

@MaudBaileysGreenTurban

Buy that £99 Ghost one. It’s stunning and it’s a bargain!

Decided to go browsing some second hand wedding dress sites and this popped up (I'm not sure if it is what you're looking for):
bridesdressrevisited.com/product/victoria-kay-ella-e104/

Found this site too - you may be able to find a suitable dress on it:
www.stillwhite.com/shop?q=&price=0-400

Watch I'm a size 12, 5' 7"...will be hoping to lose a bit of weight by next year but am assuming I won't become sylph-like Grin

Some brilliant ideas, thanks all! I will check out Outnet and Yoox too.

I think I am edging away from white dresses though...will think about buying that £99 Ghost dress as I can always return it and at least I'll be able to see if those clingy satin dresses are completely out of the question, lump-and-bump-wise!

OP theyre so simple designs, have you tried taking any of them (cough, number 2, cough) to a seamstress and asking them to copy the design? may cost a lot less

Tatapie · 05/05/2019 22:25

Agree, I had my dress made for me, shameless copy of one I ordered online then returned as £££! Cost £500 in pure silk.

sycamore54321 · 06/05/2019 01:50

A bit of a tangent but if you’re very budget-constrained, will you be having a photographer? If not, id probably stay away from the satin look, like dress 1 and the Ghost dress. That type of material is really hard to capture looking well in photos and if you’re relying just on snapshots taken by guests, then you might be disappointed.

For what it’s worth, my favorite is your dress 3. Do go and try some on, even in a shop you think out of budget to get an idea of what suits for real

MrsJamieFraser2 · 06/05/2019 03:05

OP, look at www.bhldn.com. It's a US site but some amazing and reasonably priced dresses.

Tavannach · 06/05/2019 03:12

Definitely buy the Ghost £99 one before it sells out.

Tatapie · 06/05/2019 07:42

I love the look of the ghost and other satin ones but worry that it would show bumps and also look a bit like nightwear so would order ASAP then you can try irl.

SpeckledyHen · 06/05/2019 07:50

You must try the Ghost one OP - order it today !
