I'm searching for a pair of comfy sandals that I can drive in. After looking at so many pairs I've lost all sense of what are nice and what are old granny?!?!?

I'm 38 and want them for the school run and driving about in and I can't decide if these are nice or if I should buy them for my 93 year old grandma Confused.

Nana sandals in my opinion...but if you like them...wear them and rock them GrinGrinGrin

Aprilladvised · 15/04/2019 08:06

I think they are nice.

Frostyapples · 15/04/2019 08:07

Maybe take a look at sandals by Earth Spirit - similar but with a bit more embellishment - I have a pair that are super comfy and fine to drive in

KooMoo · 15/04/2019 08:37

In a word no.

They look serviceable though.

TapasForTwo · 15/04/2019 08:39

A second vote for Earth Spirit

Ohyesiam · 15/04/2019 08:42

I wear silver Birkenstock’s to drive in( and to walk miles in) . They are so uncool they’ve fallen off the end and come back round to cool again.

To me they look less nan than the ones you’ve posted, but if they’re you’re choice , wear them with pride.

Choconuts · 15/04/2019 09:47

Just as I thought I had gone sandal blind and they are Nana shoes!

Back to my search!!!!

Sorry but they are vile.

shoelookout · 15/04/2019 09:57

Definitely something my Nan would wear. I feel your pain though. I think it's the sole that makes them for old people!

Rockbird · 15/04/2019 10:02

I've come to the conclusion that if you want sandals that attach to your feet properly rather than hang off them a la Birkenstock then granny chic is the only way. There is nothing else out there.

ElizabethMainwaring · 15/04/2019 10:07

Rockbird is right. I hate summer footwear and clothes. So uncomfortable and unflattering.

bingoitsadingo · 15/04/2019 13:19

They are very granny. Sorry!

Timberland have some nice sandals with proper straps but more of a birkenstock look to them. Mine are like walking on clouds.

Alwayscheerful · 15/04/2019 13:35

Opinions please?

@shoelookout
Yes I think it's the sole too.
Oh dear, the ones I posted have a similar sole.

Disfordarkchocolate · 15/04/2019 13:38

I'm a grandma and I like them, out and proud for both Smile

Alsohuman · 15/04/2019 14:01

Geox do much, much nicer sandals than those. I’ve got three pairs and live in them in the summer.

Disfordarkchocolate · 15/04/2019 14:44

Isn't taste odd, I look at the Geox ones and frown. Very ugly thick white sole says grandma to me. Hey ho, lucky we don't all like the same things Smile

Ofthread · 15/04/2019 15:06

Oh good lord!

Alwayscheerful · 15/04/2019 15:38

Oh my God, I just gave a massive belly laugh.

Alwayscheerful · 15/04/2019 15:39

But they do look "Comfortable".

BikeRunSki · 15/04/2019 15:50

I had some Hush Puppies like that. My very fashionista sister asked me if I’d got them from the vicar shop...

BikeRunSki · 15/04/2019 15:52

Hotter Tourist sandals come up on here quite often as not-too hideous practical sandals.

Choconuts · 15/04/2019 15:55

Thanks everyone I've decided definitely not to buy them!!!

How about these timberland ones? I really have lost all faith in my ability to judge a pair of sandals Grin
