Will Kate emerge from her Norfolk seclusion sporting a bigger than ever Alice band? Will the Mail and Express stories about Meghan get more ludicrous by the day? And will this thread see the arrival of Baby Sussex? All will be revealed in due course...

Would probably have to go for Kate’s wedding dress! Not fully my style but there’s no aspect of it I really dislike. I think it will really stand the test of time. There’s not many royal wedding dresses I love that much tbh!

I actually love the off the shoulder part of Queen Victoria’s dress but I hate the pointed shape of the bodice!

I love the idea of Meghan’s dress but it just didn’t seem to work in reality. I think if it’d been more fitted and fully off the shoulder it would’ve been right up my street!

Gosh, Diana’s dress certainly has echos if Queen Victoria’s dress, especially the sleeves.

More dresses to choose from!
Duchess of Kent & Princess Alices's were beauties. It was pink!
But Sarah Chatto is my favourite. I think with Princess Madeleine's modern fringe tiara!

Paradyning I'm going to assume that no one here is going to pick Mabel's dress! What was she thinking? Shock I forget about it, and then when I come across it from time to time, I'm taken back all over again!

Wetdogloveshubert · 13/04/2019 08:10

Woah, Para, that is an awful lot of bows. I like the other pictures of her style shown on the blog - Mabel sure has a unique sense of style!

Stravapalava · 13/04/2019 08:45

I don't mind Mabel's!

I think I'd choose CPV's dress with the Lotus Tiara and Meghan's veil (although it would hide the lovely buttons and waist detail on the back. Hmm.

Stravapalava · 13/04/2019 08:47

And these flowers:

How have I never seen Mabel's dress before? That is all kinds of awesome.

I remember shouting at the TV when I first saw Kate's dress that if I had a McQueen dress it would have been more exciting than that.

Mabel has hired Viktor and Rolf and gone full Viktor and Rolf. Superb.

If you can't do that on your wedding day, then frankly what is the point of marrying a prince?

BigGreenOlives · 13/04/2019 09:11

I met Mabel when she volunteered for something at school, she later couldn’t help & I had no idea who she was, just was v polite about how full time work & being a single mother was tough. About 3 years later I discovered who she is & what she does Mabel’s Wikipedia page.

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/04/2019 09:37

It's very sad, Mabel was effectively widowed years before her husband died.

Got side tracked looking at engagement rings from one of the links. Interesting engagement ring for the first Countess Spencer. If the crown bit was removed, I actually quite like the ring. I have a soft spot for rubies.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 13/04/2019 09:49

And how lovely is Mabel's relationship with her in-laws still.

I wonder if she'll ever re-marry?

Thesearmsofmine · 13/04/2019 09:53

I would go for Eugenie’s dress, I absolutely loved it. I loved her tiara too.

frugalkitty · 13/04/2019 10:16

Ooh FATEdestiny that's another game to play.....which royal engagement ring would we each choose????

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/04/2019 10:50

I haven't got a ring yet but was looking around websites and found one jeweller offering the "Meghan Collection"!

AFifthOfKoolAid · 13/04/2019 11:18

Eugenie's engagement ring! So so beautiful.

They had imitation Meghan rings I'm the Windsor Castle shop. But not Eugenie's, I totally would have bought one.

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/04/2019 11:33

These ones were actual diamond rings though, for a few thousand £. Not cheap but probably cheaper than Meghan's!

OP posts:
AFifthOfKoolAid · 13/04/2019 11:55

Yea the Royal Collection ones were naff crystal, but much more my budget.

Meghan's ring is kind of boring. Kate's/Diana's is a monstrosity but that's undone by the sentimental value. Fergie's won the 80s for me.
