Where in God's name would I source a closed-toe summer sandal from?

I injured my toe in the gym and my big toenail fell off and is disgustingly growing back. I cannot allow the general public to see this horror in my usual range of summer sandals (I am very sad about this state of affairs, as I have lovely toes and usually have them beautifully painted and on show from as soon as the thermometer hits 18).

I really want some nice, cool, closed-toe sandals for the warm weather, maybe loosely woven, gladiator style? I'm pretty open, to be honest, as long as I'm not going to slidey-sweaty inside them and my big toe is hidden from view.

But where would I find these creatures? The internet will not help me and I now I'm cross and hate it and everything else (but especially the bastard dumbell responsible for this trauma).

Any suggestions?

Don't think it's fungal, Dobby as coincided with me dropping a bloody great dumbell on it. But I suppose it might be. Either way, closed toe for me!

Personally I wear open toes or flip flops and put a jaunty plaster on the offending toe. If people ask, I say oh I banged it, and it’s a bit sore.

Menorcans are closed enough to hide the repulsiveness, even though not completely closed.
Noticed some summer shoes rather than sandals on both Office and Next.

Find a salon that does gel nails, they will construct a new toenail for you. I’ve just had this done as the nail on my left big toe just crumbled away.

I’ve got these and they’re pleasingly rockabilly on, and SO comfy.

Stick on the largest out of a pack of fake hand nails. About £7 in boots etc. Lasts a long time

Yes to Menorcan sandals! You can get them cheap as chips from TK Maxx and they’re so comfy.

Won't nail salons tell me to get to feck if I present them with a deformed toenail though? Because of a) infection risk and b) revulsion.

I don’t know. My nail lady is mobile and has done my nails for 20 years. This is what she made me.
