I've not seen a thread like this in a while!

My wardrobe is the equivalent of Groundhog Day so I need some inspiration to spark it up a bit, especially with regards to accessories!

Grey Next skinny jeans
Black plain H&M t-shirt
Pale pink cardigan as it's still pretty chilly here
Pale pink converse

Ewww. Would you like to buy a dress that someone has worn on a hot summer day and returned? Maybe read the reviews first next time.

TheCatThatDanced · 27/06/2019 15:28

pinegreen - wait - the stores can steam clean the dress and put it back on the shop floor.

What do you think the dresses and other clothes are like after lots of people try them on on a hot sweaty day? and yes I have had that experience.

small2018 · 27/06/2019 17:19

Had a lot of compliments from colleagues today saying I look 'trendy' or 'cute' 😊

White vest - Primark
Denim jacket - New Look
Skirt - Next
Shoes - Primark

@small2018 I love your outfit! Looks great. Love the skirt with the denim jacket.

I've fallen off the thread because it's disappeared from my 'I'm on' list so have had to search for it. Very strange.

small2018 · 27/06/2019 19:37

Skirt was from eBay!

Ellapaella · 27/06/2019 19:39

Me today:
New kimono (bought today from local boutique)
Top Matalan
Jeans Gap
Sandals TS

@Ellapaella I've had a number of threads disappear lately! It's infuriating.

Miseryisabutterfly · 27/06/2019 22:16

So grim and entitled taking back a worn dress.

pinegreen · 28/06/2019 07:10

So grim and entitled taking back a worn dress.

Agreed.

happytobemrsg · 28/06/2019 08:29

Off the work today & it’s casual Friday. I’m looking positively scruffy. I’m wearing black skinny jeans (Topshop maternity - old), grey/cream tie-front t-shirt (Superdry - old), cream long line cardigan (Michael Kors - old), khaki/navy/cream bow headband (Oliver Bonas- new), black/leopard print sneakers (Converse- new). Not wearing any fun jewellery today because I couldn’t be bothered so just wearing my daily jewellery of rose gold & steel Rolex, rose gold thin Love bangle (Cartier) & rose gold DBTY bracelet (Tiffany).

YesQueen · 28/06/2019 09:05

Dorothy Perkins tropical dress with a strapped bra
Clarks sandals

TheCatThatDanced · 28/06/2019 10:04

OK - I'll waste my bloody money and keep the dress shall I?! No it's going back.

Warehouse make millions of pounds every year.

So off you both fuck.

DarlingNikita · 28/06/2019 10:15

Wow, that's escalated!

It isn't really OK to take back a worn item.

pinegreen · 28/06/2019 10:16

No, you do what normal people do and decide whether to keep something before you wear it for the day, rather than send back your dirty clothes for the company or another shopper to deal with.

TheCatThatDanced · 28/06/2019 10:33

Actually it's still got the labels on. But as I hate it I'm donating it to the charity shop.

Love the moral high ground here though. The dress and many of their other stock has been 'worn' by being tried on a lot of times in their changing rooms. I've tried on or refused to try on an item of clothing before with noticeable sweat patches on and don't get me started on foundation marks on collars etc.

pinegreen · 28/06/2019 10:40

Can you really not see the difference between something being tried on for a few minutes in a dressing room & something being worn & lived in all day (ie commuting, dealing with kids, eating, working etc?) Jesus wept Hmm

Ellapaella · 28/06/2019 10:46

@YesQueen you look great. I really love the cut at the front of your dress.

YesQueen · 28/06/2019 11:00

Thanks @Ellapaella I bought it in leopard print too! It was mega cheap, £18 I think and I just stuck this bravissimo bra under it as I liked the strapping

DarlingNikita · 28/06/2019 11:08

Have broken out the summer gear and am wearing white linen vest from Poetry (very breezy and summery but needs a nude bra as it's a bit sheer!) with black Hush harems. Working at home, sitting on my arse, as always, so need to be comfortable.

TheCatThatDanced · 28/06/2019 11:28

pinegreen - of course I can see the difference in theory. But, and my point remains, the store may steam the clothes (my DB did this when he worked as a photographer with stylists on shoots) but they certainly won't clean them even after they've been worn with sweat marks, makeup marks etc.

I've struggled to get shops to give a discount on tops with makeup on.

TheCatThatDanced · 28/06/2019 11:31

back to the thread. Wearing Top Shop Angel sleeve brown and light blue floral top.

Prada jeans.

Ash virgins

warehouse tortoise shell hoops

Marc by Marc Jacobs bag

Brora black cashmere cardigan

Elllllle · 28/06/2019 13:28

Do you return jeans after wearing them for a day?
