They're very nice Never. Do you have a link? I find you have to be quick with Next at the start of spring/summer as they don't seem to replace stock once it's all sold out. They would be great for me for warm days on the beach.

@soups glad to read your girls are doing better this week. I’m amazed at how well you coped with multiple dancing events and vomiting 😫 and on the Boden jacket I’m not sure at all...i think @cherries said it best: could be fabulous if you can wear with aplomb.

@cherries Said it before and will say it again your DD is super lucky. You put me to shame: I felt bad about moaning to my boys yesterday on the mother’s day card saga because truly it’s of no real consequence and a bit petty when I think about it. It just hurt because they take all my running around after them a bit for granted. I think with adult DC at home full time it gets a bit tiresome...for them and for us. They resent our house rules, we get fed up reminding them of their laundry/mess. Not a situation we want to prolong beyond what’s currently needed, but unfortunately something that’s becoming more and more common with the “boomerang” generation. My DS1 has saved quite a lot living at home for a deposit on his own place, so let’s hope it’ll be all worth it in the end when they finally fly the nest Smile
And of course having DS2 move home with all the stuff he accumulated in Brighton over 3+ years of music college and his MH issues are making it a bit hard going. He is I think slowly getting better, said yesterday he feels the medication is making him more “even tempered”. He starts therapy tomorrow 🤞🤞🤞

twosoups1972 · 03/04/2019 12:49

Thank you Soy the sickness bug was horrible and I'm not sure I did cope well. But I was truly in awe of dd who got to the toilet/bowl in time and didn't seem scared at all. But my anxiety this week has been horrific and exhausting. 6 days on and I am still spraying light switches with anti bac spray Blush Tomorrow it will be a week and no doubt I'll be re-living it all over again. I know I sound bonkers.

It must be hard with adult dc at home. I read somewhere that part of the reason teenagers are so difficult is that they are not designed to be living at home even at 16! But it's so hard for this generation to live independently and most need financial assistance from parents. Glad to hear your ds' medication is having a positive effect. Hope the therapy works out well.

I'm just waving at everyone today. No sage words.
Taking DH to the GP this afternoon...he's got a new and nasty symptom. Poor bloke.

Ellapaella · 03/04/2019 13:25

Sorry to hear that @FuzzyPuffling - sorry if I've missed something you've posted earlier because I know he's been ill for a while, is this something that all started after his measles vaccine?

Jersey denim culottes

FuzzyPuffling · 03/04/2019 13:33

ella it's really a throw back to his stem cell transplant - he has a very inefficient immune system that is easily overwhelmed. It seems co incidental with the MMR jab, unless that just tipped the balance in favour of the bugs.

neveradullmoment99 · 03/04/2019 13:44

Oh @fuzzy. sounds stressful for you and your dh. Hope he gets better. Such a worry for you both.

justilou1 · 03/04/2019 14:10

Hi Ladies... I think you’ve cursed me. We have a sickness bug in our house too! The twelve year old DTs and my husband have it. I haven’t touched a surface in our place without gloves or antibacterial wipes since 1am Sat. (Can’t risk taking this bug to the ward I’m working on!) Have threatened to bleach everyone. Am calling the girl twin Typhoid Mary. They are all going to school and work tomorrow and of course this means normal extra-curriculars and extra cleaning on the weekend. Oh joy. Oh, and husband has announced interstate overnight trip on Friday. Le sigh. He gets out of the (three hours in the hot sun) baseball presentation for my son. I might move into the hospital!!!

justilou1 · 03/04/2019 14:14

I keep hitting send before I’m ready! The hair loss thing is a bugger, isn’t it? I was known for having thick, long, blonde hair. It’s now thin and whisky and coming out in clumps. It’s part auto-immune, part stress, part malabsorption problems (I take supplements, but don’t absorb them much it seems) the front of my hair looks like a mangy cat. It was worse when I lived in NL and my thyroid was mismanaged!

justilou1 · 03/04/2019 14:17

*whispy Obvs not whisky

twosoups1972 · 03/04/2019 14:49

Oh no just Sad drink some grape or cranberry juice, it’s supposed to help you avoid it.

EachandEveryone · 03/04/2019 15:51

I ordered the dark culottes what are you planning on wearing them with?

Does anyone know an easy way to get wellies off? My old Hunters are so comfy but are a buggar to get off since ive had all the joint pain. When ive had afew at Glasto im afraid it might ruin the vibe if i have to sleep in them 😪

Ellapaella · 03/04/2019 16:23

Grin Each I'm sure you won't be the only one sleeping in your wellies. Am very jealous of Glasto - you lucky thing. Have no advice about wellies, I get cramp when I take mine off!

OP posts:
ilovecherries · 03/04/2019 16:46

I usually lie on my back like a stranded beetle and demand that someone pulls them off for me. I’m jealous about glasto as well, have been once and loved it (apart from toilets which were worse than I had ever imagined!)

I popped into Next when I was returning my Hush parcel to look at those crops never suggested. Seriously impressed for the price. There was only one 12 left so I nabbed it till my oasis parcel arrives, and then decide. So comfy though!

EachandEveryone · 03/04/2019 16:49

Oh theres still the resale if you are really that jealous 😀😀😀

Ellapaella · 03/04/2019 16:53

What's the resale?

OP posts:
EachandEveryone · 03/04/2019 17:06

For the Glasto tickets that go back into the pot. They are resold in May. Its hard slog even though we are glamping. Ive had to pack some heavy things already —two boxes of wine— so i can meet my friend with it to orrow. They are good friends and wont let me carry much yet.

Ellapaella · 03/04/2019 17:33

I remember the good old days when if you knew the right people you could pay someone to let you in through the fence for half the price.
I haven't been to Glasto since 2003 but omg what a year - saw Radiohead and REM headlining the same night. Amazing.

This year it's DS doing the festivals. He's off to ParkLife in Manchester in June. I'd quite like to do a family festival in the camper van, am considering camp Bestival or Kendal Calling (if not too late for tickets).

OP posts:
FuzzyPuffling · 03/04/2019 17:43

Wellies....Hunters are the devil's own to get off. I have a boot jack and that works. However, last year I treated myself to a pair of Le Chameaus (thanks Brand Alley) and they are a million times easier to get off and fabulously comfortable. I live in them in winter.

dontcallmelen · 03/04/2019 18:56

Fuzzy🤞🏻That Dh is feeling a little better, hope you are also managing to get a bit of rest as well.
Soy I hope the interview goes well, even if you decide it’s not for you.
Glad that Ds meds seem to be now kicking in, that’s really good news yy the disappointment sometimes over thoughtless adult dc, especially when they are living back at home & all the extra stress/work that it can entail, I had it with mine sometimes as well & it does bloomin hurt.
Yy boomerang kids, my Ds has made me dizzy with the backwards n forwards shenanigans, been back this time for over two years😱😂🙁
Those next trousers are a complete bargain.

Ellapaella · 03/04/2019 19:44

@ilovecherries sorry for late reply re fake tan. For pink undertones you should use a fake tan with a green base.
If you have yellow undertones like me then a violet base works best.
You can google 'fake tan with green base' to find recommended brands.
I'm a bit obsessed with undertones as I spent years wearing the wrong foundation. Because I have reddish hair and greenish eyes beauty counters would always tell me to wear make up colours for typical auburns (typically very fair and pale skin).
But actually I have my Mums olive skin and so once I realised you could buy foundation specifically for yellow undertones it was a revelation for me!
So I never trust beauty counters anymore. Only time I've been correctly matched make up wise is with the Estée Lauder machine thing that they use to colour match foundation.

ella I used to love REM! Whatever happened to them?

Laska2Meryls · 03/04/2019 20:09

Ella I have emailed you Smile

FuzzyPuffling · 03/04/2019 20:15

Ella I hear you about the wrong skin tone thing. I have dark hair (or I did) and green eyes, but my skin in pink toned. Once I got off the yellow based stuff (and most foundation is yellow) I was sorted. Amazing!

DH is ok. He's on a huge dollop of steroids to try to reduce the inflammation and we are both hoping it has some good effects. The bad news is that both of our mothers are on end of life care. Dreadful timing. They are both 100s of miles away (and not in the same direction) and we can't go anywhere with DH so ill. It's a strange week. Odd that I should put this here....hushistas feels rather safer than the rest of MN.
