Sophie did give birth at Frimley park it's about 30 mins from Windsor so definitely an option. Sophie and Edward were also the only ones of the queens children and in-laws not to do the hospital steps photo I think. But that is very possibly less to do with a dislike of the photo more to do with the fact Sophie had a very difficult birth with Louise and it was touch and go for both mother and baby.

I really hope that Kate and Meghan are actually super good friends and laugh a lot over the stories in the press. If I were them I would actually have fun with it just for the laughs.

itswinetime · 04/04/2019 18:57

Harry has just announced an engagement next week so I'm guessing baby Sussex isn't quiet due yet.
Just been looking at the arrival videos looks to be all smiles but zero interaction between William and Harry which seems odd

According to this: www.who.com.au/is-meghan-markle-in-labour
Meghan's makeup artist friend Daniel Martin has flown over to the UK.
If correct will Baby Sussex have arrived by the end of the week?

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 04/04/2019 19:01

Or maybe not if Harry is doing engagements next week.

QueenOfTheAndals · 04/04/2019 19:01

I noticed that too @itswinetime but really, how much can we judge from a 20 second clip?

Having someone present for the birth of future monarchs has its roots in the 'baby in the bedpan' story surrounding the birth of the son of James II in 1688...his wife hadn't produced an heir that has survived infancy and the story goes that a live baby was smuggled into the room in a bedpan to replace a stillborn child.

Video links all from twitter

And the Rebeca English one curly shared again just to complete the set

four

But no we can't judge they shared a car and are being battered by the wind so there can be loads of things going on all I do think is that they don't seem to be interacting that much with each other compared to with the others there.

TipseyTorvey · 04/04/2019 19:15

If Meghan does choose RBH I'll be very surprised. The staff are amazing but it's very run down and under resourced. Had both mine there so can't fault the care in an emergency but it's not really royal level.

QueenOfTheAndals · 04/04/2019 19:23

What's the nearest hospital with a private wing? I'd say that would swing it.

OP posts:
mrscampbellblackagain · 04/04/2019 19:28

I think there are very few private maternity wings outside of London.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 04/04/2019 19:32

@itswinetime

They don’t seem to be mirroring each other’s body language or interacting at all

In video 1, William was doing a lot of fussing with his neck ( bow tie this time) as opposed to scarf at Xmas. Harry seems really relaxed.

itswinetime · 04/04/2019 19:33

I would think we are lookat frimley park being the nearest (but I don't think it has a private wing).

Or if they want private the the Lindo wind and the portland seem the main options talked about by the press at the moment.

There is still home birth of course I'm not sure if that was officially ruled out or if the press decided she wouldn't do that.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 04/04/2019 19:33
CurlyWurlyTwirly · 04/04/2019 19:38

Closest private hospital to be Frimley apart or Wrexham

Frimley sounds lovely with birthing pool and mood lighting!

iknowimcoming · 04/04/2019 19:39

I doubt it'll be the royal berks too - the parking is shocking Grin frimley gets my vote

motheroftinydragons · 04/04/2019 19:40

Wasn't there reports saying it was confirmed that she was going to Croydon? Or was that an April Fool? I did think it might be...

itswinetime · 04/04/2019 19:45

@CurlyWurlyTwirly

I guess it could be age or the fact that there seems to be a big push towards their
Future roles lately so maybe the easy way they had between them isn't seen as appropriate anymore.

Maybe I'm looking back through rose tinted glasses and actually nothing has changed.

It just seems a lot more formal to me these days, both those video just seem more relaxed to me but I completely accept there are a million reasons for that, that could be nothing to do with a rift.

QueenOfTheAndals · 04/04/2019 19:46

Lol that was an April Fools joke!

OP posts:
CurlyWurlyTwirly · 04/04/2019 19:46

Giving birth in central London makes no sense. The traffic coming in from Windsor would be a nightmare. Definitely Frimley Park

polarpig · 04/04/2019 19:47

I thought it had already been decided that she would use the Lindo wing? Maybe she'll go to the Royal Berkshire as they aren't going to have the same problems with parking that most people would have.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 04/04/2019 19:48

@itswinetime
Maybe once Harry is actually a dad, perhaps they’ll have more in common again.
Fingers crossed.
Luckily no more mention of the Norfolk Business. Fish n chip paper now

Wonnacott35 · 04/04/2019 19:48

They're both fiddling with their sleeves but usually they'd be talking. They always seem so comfortable when out with PC. Again maybe I'm making it up because of the recent gossip - which I hope is untrue.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 04/04/2019 19:49

I think frimley has parking issues too, but I don’t imagine that will affect them.

itswinetime · 04/04/2019 19:57

I don't know a hospital without parking issues but as everyone say I doubt they will have to worry about queuing for a space Wink

Yes hopefully once the baby comes and now the households are split and the move has happened things will start to return to normal. In fairness Harry has got married had a baby (nearly) and moved in a year so he probably isn't at his most relaxed.
