What’s your everyday casual jewellery?

JudgeRulesNutterButter · 23/03/2019 15:48

I miss wearing jewellery everyday, I used to when I worked in an office but now I feel like none of my stuff is casual enough- dangly earrings are too bling for my ancient ripped jeans, for example.

So right now, I am wearing aforementioned old jeans, black t shirt, purple hoodie. Anyone got any jewellery that doesn’t look “too much” with that kind of outfit?

I wear thick wedding band with engagement ring and eternity ring. Designer watch. Fine gold chain. Fitbit(!), gold ankle chain and a big fuck off cubit zirconia in my belly button .

itsbritneybiatches · 23/03/2019 18:10

That's gorgeous @YesQueen

JudgeRulesNutterButter · 23/03/2019 18:49

This is simultaneously no help at all because you all like different “casual” things, and also really helpful and making me want to buy about forty five things Grin

quirkychick love the leather idea thank you! I’d been looking at wooden stuff but hadn’t thought of leather. 👍

Palominoo Oo I used to love layered pendants, got out of the habit when I had grabby babies around! Must dig mine out and clean them up!

YesQueen love your ring!

My layered pendants aren't too long as I have dogs and I wouldn't want a paw (2 of mine are whippets with granny hands) to get caught up in them!

I just like the three different sized discs layered look!

itsbritneybiatches · 23/03/2019 19:24

I wear my good jewellery all the time. No point saving it for a special occasion.

I get all of mine engraved with my partners or dd name so it's all special then. To me anyway.

CountFosco · 23/03/2019 19:48

I currently have on my wedding ring and engagement ring on my left hand, stacking rings with the DCs birthstones on my right and moon & star earrings in one ear.

SapphireSeptember · 23/03/2019 20:44

Currently wearing a nightie, I have on an onyx and silver ring and a sapphire and silver ring, a silver bangle and silver chain bracelet on my left hand, and I'm wearing three necklaces, one is a silver snake pendant on a green velvet ribbon, one is a faceted black cubic zirconia heart on a silver chain, and the other is an onyx, marcasite and silver Edwardian style pendant on a silver chain.
The ribbon choker I'm wearing isn't a 'proper' necklace, I bough the pendant and ribbon separately, put them together and just tie it at the back.

Pigwitch · 23/03/2019 20:46

Wedding ring ( occasionally my engagement ring too, I can't wear it for work)

Diamond studs Dh bought me.

I'm not really a jewellery person

SwimmingKaren · 23/03/2019 20:48

I have two nice watches, one a designer dress watch and the other a top of the range sports type and usually wear one or the other with platinum engagement and wedding rings, skinny stacked rings on the other hand and a charm bracelet. That’s my lot really, I don’t go in for a lot of jewelry, sometimes a statement pair of earrings or necklace with a dress if I’m off out.

quirkychick · 23/03/2019 20:51

JudgeRules, lots of very lovely jewellery on Etsy. Just saying Wink.

Really enjoying hearing what everybody wears. Jewellery is so much about personal style.

Isth · 23/03/2019 20:51

I wear a fair bit actually.
Cubic zirconia studs in each lobe and two studs in one cartilage
One of three silver necklaces I have on rotation; my name on one, an infinity symbol on another and a horseshoe on the third. All delicate tho.
Copper bangle thing
Watch
Silver anklet, very fine chain
And then my rings!
Plain silver band on right ring finger, horseshoe ring on right index finger, hammered silver band on right thumb
Celtic cross ring on left thumb and trilogy engagement ring on left ring finger

viccat · 23/03/2019 20:54

I got some stainless steel small (but wide) hoop earrings in navy, rose gold and gunmetal colours and love them for a more casual style. Especially the navy is a surprise winner that goes with everything I wear.

I also have two silver rings from a small designer I wear daily. Occasionally a silver bangle with a quote that is meaningful to me.

MrsZola · 23/03/2019 21:00

Wedding ring, engagement ring, good watch on left hand; chunky silver thumb ring, plainish silver ring on my middle finger and interchangeable rings (depending on what I'm wearing), silver bracelets/bangles on right hand. Studs and mall dangly earrings, necklace and belly button stud.
I've got far too much jewellery and used to save stuff for best - now I just wear what I feel like.

Following for inexpensive bracelet and earrings ideas!

Used to wear loads then had babies and found I'd catch their heads with the bracelets and I was scared they were going to rip a hole in my lug pulling on my earrings. I used to wear proper Pat Butcher beauties (😂) but found after not wearing earrings for so long that I find them too heavy and even find studs irritating. Whats that all about? 🤷‍♀️ It can't be just me? Properly gutted as I loved wearing earrings.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 23/03/2019 22:24

I am a daily wearer, not a saver for best.

I wear a lot of chunky acrylic jewellery - necklaces - from Tatty Devine, or small, delicate silver necklaces from Alex Monroe. Not all at once.

On a daily basis I wear a silver ring on each hand, plus a silver and turquoise ring on my left thumb, small stud earrings (currently little silver lightening bolts), men’s steel watch, and also a navel piercing no-one sees.

Love bangles on other people, particularly big cuff style ones, but find them really irritating and end up taking them off after about five minutes.

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 23/03/2019 22:28

Love Alex Munroe as well Judystill - I always miss out on the advent calendar specials though!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 23/03/2019 23:07

thatwould I have been lucky that I know someone who knows someone who works with him, so have had quite substantial discounts (then passed on to my DP so he could buy the necklaces!). I’ve also bought a couple of things myself from John Lewis when I have had vouchers.

Another necklace I wear often is a little silver ampersand from Rachel Jackson London, she has lovely things.

spugzbunny · 23/03/2019 23:14

I always wear 2 silver bangles and a fine silver necklace. I never take these off, sleep, bathe, swim in them. I also have my wedding and engagement ring but they come off for a bath. I wouldn't wear anything if I had to go to the bother of taking it off and on again all the time!

IWannaSeeHowItEnds · 23/03/2019 23:15

Tkmaxx can have some decent and inexpensive jewellery. I got a set of 3 Calvin Klein bangles in there a few months ago and they often have lovely earrings.

Backseatonthebus · 23/03/2019 23:18

I never take off: engagement and wedding rings, a silver necklace given to me by my best friend who died recently. Very occasionally I might wear another ring but that's it.

Jsmith99 · 23/03/2019 23:29

I’m not really a jewellery person, and I’m not married, so I generally only wear a watch. My everyday one is a very non-bling stainless steel Rolex. Nobody ever notices it, which is fine by me. I have another, more dressy watch for evening wear.

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 23/03/2019 23:52

Judystill You jammy bugger! Is your someone who knows someone in the market for making friends with MN randoms? Grin

JudgeRulesNutterButter · 23/03/2019 23:59

silver snake pendant on a green velvet ribbon

Oo that sounds lovely, and how very Slytherin also.

I think my next move is going to have to be a necklace. I love bracelets and bangles but I do tend to end up taking them off halfway through the day because they get in the way too much.

I do have a nice chunky spinning ring that DH gave me but it was originally going to be stacking rings, I might have another hunt for those this Christmas. And I like the idea of hoop earrings too, some small silver hoops would be nice.

quirky I’m way ahead of you with Etsy GrinGrin

OP I'm a wannabe Slytherin. Grin I got it specifically for my Professor Snape costume but wear it all the time (although I'm actually a Hufflepuff, go figure.) Alchemy Gothic provided me with a pewter snake bangle and ring with green crystal eyes that I also wear, but not all the time because I'm scared the stones will fall out! (I do wear them a lot though.)

GinandGingerBeer · 24/03/2019 09:14

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie have a look at Bella Jane jewellery for bracelets. I have small wrists so can never wear bangles as they're too big. They're not cheap but I wear the rose gold stack of three every day and have had it for years and they're lovely.
