Comfiest trousers you can get away with going out of the house in

Hello, I wondered if I could get some links to comfy trousers (track pant comfy), that I could get away with going out in (school, supermarket etc). I don’t find activewear THAT comfy as is quite “compressiony” and tight. Any help appreciated. Thanks

I could weep with gratitude - I finally get to ditch my tortuously painful jeggings. But wow N and Willow delivery is expensive!!!

Inneedofadvice27 · 22/03/2019 07:17

Thestral the holy grail “feels like pajamas”!!! I’m there

I need this thread.

itssquidstella · 22/03/2019 13:07

I'm so pleased at the n and willow love, they're my absolute favourites!

NoSeaSeagull · 22/03/2019 13:14

These Jersey joggers from Next are very comfy.

This is great. I’m having health problems so comfort is a high priority, will be looking at these!

backinaminute · 22/03/2019 15:10

I have some hush harem and love them - might branch out more after this thread

TwistedAnkle · 22/03/2019 19:18

These all look gorgeous but not for someone 5' 2" and size 16 sadly..

AlannaOfTrebond · 22/03/2019 20:44

Best thread ever OP! ( Ok, maybe jointly with the one about stylish hiking outfits, which is the only other thread I have ever contributed to on S&B).

I spent this morning at a 4 hour hospital appointment rocking these Icebreaker Merino Crush Pants with a t-shirt and open checked shirt over the top. If I have to sit there for hours I'm going to be godam comfortable, but don't see why I can't look vaguely presentable at the same time.

I know they are stupidly expensive, but I've practically lived in them for the past few months, so worth every penny for me (and I got them cheaper on Amazon!).

I've been wearing some paper bag waist, tapered trousers from Quiz of all places! They're really comfortable (and cheap!) and look good with my converse

Footle · 22/03/2019 22:48

TwistedAnkle, I don't see why the smaller and rounder shouldn't enjoy being comfortable. Most of these will look great with the right tops.

TwistedAnkle · 23/03/2019 08:42

Footle smaller and rounder 🤣🤣

makemineapinacolada · 23/03/2019 09:09

Another place mark to purchase later

Poppysball · 23/03/2019 16:12

What sort of tops should be worn with the harem type trousers? I'm quite petite but larger in tummy area.

Ellapaella · 23/03/2019 18:30

@Poppysball I have the Hush harems and find that as they have quite a high waist they actually lend themselves better to be worn with something like a tee or a cami tucked in. Leaving tops to hang loose below the hip tends to look a bit shapeless. Also slightly cropped tops work well (not cropped enough to bare flesh).
Below is a pic of a top I recently bought specifically to wear with my Harems. It's slightly cropped but the high waist of the harems hides my tummy nicely.

Stella- I have 33/34 inch legs- would I get away with them? I see you are tall also!

merdde · 23/03/2019 20:41

Do the harems ride up the bum crack? I hate that!

viccat · 23/03/2019 21:02

I have some tapered jersey trousers from M&S (as mentioned upthread by someone else) for the colder months and some elasticated waist linen/cotton blend trousers from H&M for summer.

Also recently got a couple of pairs of trousers from Forgotten Tribes: www.forgottentribes.com/collections/harem-pants-uk

Just bumping so @itssquidstella can see my question!

CurbsideProphet · 24/03/2019 17:18

I love the Hush harems, but unfortunately my bank account doesn't feel the same. I'm 5ft and need a cuffed ankle, but I don't think there's anything similar on the high street at the moment?

itssquidstella · 24/03/2019 18:50

@yellowsun Yes, I'm 5'11" and they're long enough for me! They probably don't billow at the ankle quite as much as they would on someone shorter, but they don't ride up either. Get some!

yellowsun · 24/03/2019 19:49

Great!

CottonSock · 24/03/2019 19:57

@CurbsideProphet try next petite.
I was surprised how flattering these were in real life. Mine are a looser fit than model wearing

MollysLips · 24/03/2019 20:06

Those nandwillow slouchy trousers look brilliant. I've just seen they do a leopardprint version that I want, but know I'll never have the courage to wear outside my house. Inside my house, though, they'd be 24/7.

NoParticularPattern · 24/03/2019 20:08

I love this thread!! I’m going to offer you my holy grail of jeans that don’t feel like jeans. Next Denim Leggings- honestly these things are so god damned stretchy and comfortable that I’m still wearing them (done up and everything!!) at 23 weeks pregnant. They come in a length which is appropriate for my ridiculous 36” inside leg and they are quite honestly the best money I’ve ever spent. I’ve lived in a black pair (and I mean the sort of wear that means you have to plan your washing around your one pair of jeans!) for about the last year and, apart from slight fading (which is probably due to to bloody summer sun we had!!) they look and feel brand new. They do a jersey style one as well but they’re less favoured as they don’t have a real button or fly. Still very comfy though!
