Dress for short and big tummy

I have listed before and bought a lace shift thing which is beautiful but on me the belly is gross. Any tummy skimming or disguising dress or outfit ideas for a hen party where the hen is beautiful and willowy and I look like the auntie they invited along??
I’m short and like a skittle but with a massive gut. I did wonder about pretending I was pregnant and embracing the belly but couldn’t carry it on and it would hamper my cocktail drinking!

I think a wrap dress with a pattern would suit your body shape. And stop being so hard on yourself.

DocusDiplo · 19/03/2019 21:51

Google apple shape?

Girlinstripedpyjamas · 19/03/2019 21:55

I’m sorry. I’m cross at myself for not looking after myself of late. I’ve been really down and out weight on and now really regret my choices and feel meh about going out

Will try looking for wrap dresses though thank you

Can I advise against those knickers that squash you in. It takes Arnold Schwarzenegger strength to get them on and (unless they have poppers at the bottom) you spend most of the night in the toilets trying to pull them down the back up again, then end up going commando anyway and leaving the loathed things in the loos' bin!

SleightOfMind · 19/03/2019 22:06

Scrap wrap dresses unless you have a defined waist.
I’m an Apple shape (carry weight on boobs and tum).
If you like your legs then there are lots of things you can feel and look really good in.

I don’t know your budget or the occasion but search for dresses for Apple Shapes and pay attention to fabrics - polyester mixes cling instead of skim Grin
Post back if you find something but you’re unsure. We’ll get it just right.

I'm an apple and I've been pleasantly surprised by skater style dresses. Yes, even polyester ones!

Girlinstripedpyjamas · 20/03/2019 13:19

I’m going to collect a glittery but plain shirt type thing I panic bought last night and a black lace overlay one but it’s got a dip hem. Any links to cheap dresses? Or stuff you have? Thank you!!

I do have a bit of a waist but wouldn’t say I’m a pear now due to my tummy which is now starting higher up- used to be just a pouch but is now a pronounced beer gut style

I'd say that's a shift/bodycon and you look fine in it!

This is the closest I could find to the shapes I've got: skater or fit and flare, as I said, surprisingly good on an apple. Debenhams are good for dresses as well.

It’s the belly bulge I hated and felt really unhappy in it. I think I expected it to be looser but had no other options
Will check yours out thanks!

No advice, but I think you looked lovely.

Rattysparklebum · 20/03/2019 19:29

I agree with DontCallMeCharlotte, I have an amazing fit and (and very slight) flare dress which makes me look a stone lighter, every time I wear it people comment on it.

Moondancer73 · 20/03/2019 19:40

I think you look lovely in the piccy, great legs and not a big belly - really you're way more conscious than you need to be. The skater dresses are lovely tho, definitely worth a look

Girlinstripedpyjamas · 20/03/2019 20:24

Just been panic shopping. Limited options but tried these and know we love a pic. Any good??

Where's the pics?

Justmuddlingalong · 20/03/2019 22:47

Oh. There they are. 😄 I really don't like 1 on. 3 is nice but 2 is my favourite on you.

Horsemad · 20/03/2019 22:50

I think pic 3.

mimibunz · 20/03/2019 22:50

The second one looks lovely if slightly too long. Probably the third. It’s quite flattering. Find a good necklace and you’re all set! What shoes?

mushforbrain · 20/03/2019 22:52

2 is good!

CrystalTits · 20/03/2019 23:04

2 and 3. You have lovely shapely legs and a beautiful hourglass figure. I would kill for your shape and I’m 5’0”. Accessorise and focus on hair and makeup looking fabulous, you will rock whatever you choose to wear. Have a great time!

hellsbells99 · 20/03/2019 23:12

I like the 3rd one! Where is it from?

Articulateforme · 20/03/2019 23:14
