High waisted exercise leggings

I know this gets asked all the time, but I’ve scrolled back loads of pages and can’t find the last one.

Can anyone recommend a brand for thick, non-see through exercise leggings, preferably with a thick, high waistband.

I’m going to ask for them for my birthday, and don’t want to ask for fabletics in case anyone gets trapped in that monthly payment scheme because of me!

Ron Hill brand - available on Amazon. I never have that thing of the waistband slipping below my waist as I run. I bought mine for about £30 a pair and I’m about to invest in some more.

Jimjamjooney · 17/03/2019 20:22

Queenie ke leggings from Amazon. They're really thick cottony ones (dupes for lululemons) make you look good and are so comfy!

Thedarklady · 17/03/2019 20:26

Lululemon, Outdoor Voices, Wolford
Nike, Adidas, the usual sports labels
H&M active wear range, M&S active wear rangr

Nacreous · 17/03/2019 20:33

I actually really like the USA Pro ones from Sports Direct.

LtGreggs · 17/03/2019 20:38

Mizuno (wiggle have them) - thermal/winter ones particularly good. They have wide waistband and also a sewn-together draw string, so you can't 'lose' one end of it iyswim

The last Ron Hill pairs I got were disappointingly flimsy and baggy, but they were a go-to brand in past so might be worth a check.

Nike running kit also good - I have 10 Yr old running leggings I am still using.

itsbritneybiatches · 17/03/2019 20:40

Second the queenie leggings from amazon.

I have a large and a medium for fat
And thin days.

They never roll down. Ever. No matter what I do.

ArsenicNLace · 17/03/2019 20:45

Next own brand. I have loads and they have the high waist too.

musicmum75 · 17/03/2019 20:45

Bamboo clothing. Not cheap but incredibly good quality and last for years. A great investment.

Thedarklady · 17/03/2019 20:49

Queenie leggings sounds interesting @jimjamjooney

Thedarklady · 17/03/2019 20:49

Sound

Clarabell100 · 17/03/2019 20:55

I second the recommendation for gymshark. Just got my first pair and already want another!

Jimjamjooney · 17/03/2019 21:06

Thedarklady I don't like exercise leggings made from shiny material as I find they slip down on me and aren't as breathable. The Queenie Ke ones are so good I honestly can't rate them high enough. I have a small black pair and want to order them in the other colours and they're reasonable priced too. I mainly do weights though and haven't run in them yet however.

Jumbojem · 17/03/2019 21:40

My favourite really high waisted thick pair are Soulux (or Soulos?) from Matalan. Followed by Gap Fit ones. Both of these were inexpensive but lasted years in still near perfect nick.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 17/03/2019 21:40

Tesco F&F brand are good.

cricketmum84 · 17/03/2019 21:42

The best ones I have bought have been from matalan. Currently a size 20 and their xl leggings go right up to under my bra, lovely thick waistband that stays put and plenty of different colours and patterns.
Can't recommend them highly enough!

RJnomore1 · 17/03/2019 21:42

Sainsburys.

cactuswatcher · 17/03/2019 21:46

Everlasting contour tights (leggings)- high waisted, stretchy and thick! Got mine from sports direct

soakedat3 · 17/03/2019 21:49

Primark Alice Levine ones are great! They look so much like Gymshark ones that my gym instructor thought we had the same ones on. Hers were Gymshark.

They are thick so pass the squat test.
Waist band goes up past belly button so they really hold tummies in :D
Not so thick you can't workout but haven't worn them on a run so I don't know if they would be too thick for that.

They also wash well.

ShivD · 17/03/2019 22:24

Yoga Leggs (not just for yoga) or Lululemon are my faves.

Haworthia · 17/03/2019 22:25

Another vote for Queenie Ke from Amazon. Really good.
