Too much black?

Evening out, first one in 8 years Shock and not sure what to wear. I have a black dress, black boots, black leggings. Is a black cardigan overkill? I have black, navy, white, beige (but not sure the style fits) or a long length darkish grey one.

Wow, S&B doesn’t usually get this spicy! Grin

OP i think the boots are the better out of those options but agree with popping to the supermarket and getting tights instead of leggings. Go without the cardigan.

Do you have a nice evening bag - a quilted black bag, or a clutch? Add some jewellery, you’d be fine.

And have a good time!

Most cheap clothes look cheap tbh. I think it's easier to look good on a budget when you stick to a limited colour palette, like all black. 'Jazzing' things up can be a mistake.

I like the lace up boots
Do you have any sort of jacket instead of a cardigan
Or a scarf to add a bit of impact

Weirdly I used to look awful in black when I was young and could only wear navy or grey. Now I can wear all black, with a dash of another colour.

Wear the black leggings and the lace up boots with the black cardigan
And have fun!!!

NotComingBackAnytimeSoon · 16/03/2019 16:12

Gah! Is there a trick to stopping dress clinging to leggings?

Long boot looks better.

Spray some hairspray or rub a tumble dryer sheet all over your tights

Thanks.

Confused an evening alone with DH. Long time since that's happened!

[I think you looked fab]

I buy footless tights now or cut the ends off normal ones. [but then I often wear boots out so dont listen to me, apparently]

Invest in a long sleeved black dress for next time, so you don't have to think about cardigans ever again
