Not sure which one I should buy...

Smooth and control
Volume

Or the complete one

I have a feeling the complete one will take longer to come back into stock

I have fine hair, like it straight and also bouncy.

Any experience?

I have the volume one, think the other is more for thick hair. My hair is fine and straight, the only problem I have is that I can't get it to hold a curl so I end up reverting back to my waving wand. It does a fab bouncy blow dry though!

fishandchops · 14/03/2019 13:41

I have just got the complete and it is a game changer for me. I have really thick long hair though. I watched some tutorials on you tube first and it really works.

StatisticallyChallenged · 14/03/2019 15:51

I have fine straight hair, long bob length but lots and lots of hair. I got the complete and I'd recommend it - the only head I don't really use is the firmer flat brush.

stayfit · 14/03/2019 16:01

Hi hope it's ok to ask, it seems to be out of stock everywhere. Where did you buy from?

StatisticallyChallenged · 14/03/2019 16:04

DH got lucky and got one in currys - worth sticking a stock alert on. Other places I've seen them in stock are John Lewis, qvc, dyson website

Cookingwithgasnow · 14/03/2019 16:05

It comes in and out of stock on boots daily.

I’m swaying whether to do the complete or the volume.

Boots don’t seem to sell the complete.

I just want a bit more volume and bounce really.

Do you have a John Lewis nearby? Ours has them to try.

GinandGingerBeer · 14/03/2019 17:00

I wish they'd give a proper indication of when they're getting the complete back in stock. If it's going to be months, I'll buy from boots instead. They won't give me an estimate of weeks months or years though. Believe me, I've tried!

stayfit · 16/03/2019 18:50

@GinandGingerBeer yes same here I have email alerts set on so many website but it is not available since 4-5 weeks. The boots close by don't stock them. Probably have to make a trip to big boots in central London.

Harumphharagh · 16/03/2019 19:07

fishandchops any recommendations? I too have thick long hair and am underwhelmed by my airwrap!

GinandGingerBeer · 16/03/2019 19:15

@stayfit could you get it delivered to your local store?
Both have come back in stock off and on but I've waited this long now so I'll hang fire for the complete I think.

StatisticallyChallenged · 16/03/2019 20:17

What is it that's not working for you Harumph? Very thick hair here (although shorter than usual atm, stupid hairdresser) and it did take a bit of practice.

StatisticallyChallenged · 18/03/2019 10:07

Complete in stock at Currys for anyone looking for one

GinandGingerBeer · 18/03/2019 10:07

@stayfit
Curry's have the complete version in stock for delivery.
I've just ordered 👏Grin

GinandGingerBeer · 18/03/2019 10:08

@Cookingwithgasnow tagging you too Smile

GinandGingerBeer · 18/03/2019 10:09

Ooh cross posted @StatisticallyChallenged Grin

stayfit · 18/03/2019 10:16

Thank you @GinandGingerBeer, how nice of you to share. will have a look now

Cookingwithgasnow · 18/03/2019 10:54

Thank you. Ordered one will collect tomorrow. Can’t wait.

OP posts:
GinandGingerBeer · 18/03/2019 13:10

Ooh I was in that much of a flap I didn't notice a collect in store option.
Never mind.
Cannot wait! Smile
It's weird but I had a funny feeling when I woke this morning that I was going to be ordering today. Witchywoo Grin

fishandchops · 19/03/2019 04:52

Harumph after I've wash my hair I apply a good dollop of mousse to the ends, spray some heat protection on the roughly blow dry until it's just damp.
I section my hair apply the wide barrelled attachment use hot setting for a few seconds then switch to cold. My hair just ends up with a bouncy curl. I go around half of my head like this then do the other half and spray a little hairspray to hold it in.

The following day I just use the air wrap and re curl.

gart · 19/03/2019 05:00

Could people possibly post pictures of the results they actually achieve using it alone? I'm a bit dubious about how easy it is to style the back of my head.

IcedPurple · 19/03/2019 10:47

I've been tempted by this but have heard mixed reports. Some swear by it, others say the curls flop after a few hours - which is always my problem. And I don't know about anyone else, but if I'm going to shell out £400 for a hair styler, I want it to be pretty damn good!

Cookingwithgasnow · 19/03/2019 12:01

I’ll collect mine tonight. I feel like a child on Christmas Eve.

I know it will take a while to get used to but I’m hoping it will be worth it.

Thing is I usually wash my hair every 3 days. Can this work on dry hair or can I dampen it in the morning with a spray bottle?

OP posts:
IcedPurple · 19/03/2019 12:17

I think it can work on dry hair but according to the woman who did my hair with it in the shop, in order for the style to hold the hair should be damp.

StatisticallyChallenged · 19/03/2019 12:18

I normally have floppy curl syndrome but the airwrap ones hold pretty well on me, as long as I do it on damp hair. I also find a light gel helps a lot - Wella do a good 48 hour liquid gel which is not greasy at all.

It does take a little bit of practice, I wasn't wowed the first time but I've gradually fallen in love.
