I wonder if they have different codes for different list segments. The Spring one gives me 10% off. I rarely get sent a code actually, its usually here I see them.

ilovecherries · 28/03/2019 11:28

Oh, that's good. Phoned DH to tell him I was going home, and he says to wait a few hours and he will take me and get the train back so I have my car at home. Quite glad as I only just started driving again last week, was rather dreading the long journey. Funny how your adult kids can still mobilise their parents at the drop of a hat :).

neveradullmoment99 · 28/03/2019 11:33

Thanks all :) Have ordered the black slub and denim wide leg crops. Should come tomorrow.
@cherries, I agree with soyo, you are a wonderful mum. I remember having the support of my dh and without it i would have stressed so much.
@Fuzzy, hope your dh is feeling better. sounds like a worrying time Flowers

twosoups1972 · 28/03/2019 11:34

cherries you never stop worrying about them. Glad your dh can take you, how long is the journey?

Laska2Meryls · 28/03/2019 11:37

I'm tempted by the Moritz also , looking forward to seeing them on you Never

ilovecherries · 28/03/2019 11:38

About 4 hours driving. The train requires several changes and I just couldn't manage to lift a case yet.

dontcallmelen · 28/03/2019 11:41

Yy Cherries if you can ease the anxieties & make them feel better, I don’t care how old they are, if they need you they need you.

dontcallmelen · 28/03/2019 11:42

Oops forgot to say, looking forward to seeing everyone’s purchases.

Ellapaella · 28/03/2019 12:25

I like the Moritz jeans - can't wait to see them on you never.

Can I ask you all for your honest opinions on this dress? It's nothing like my usual style (which to be fair is a little boring/conservative at times) but I'm not sure if I like it or if I look like I'm wearing Grannie's old curtains? I want you all to be honest, I won't be offended if you think it's awful. Also not sure what shoes to wear with? Have it on with boots here (for evening out) but am thinking if I dress down for warm days I could wear with wedges or black flat sandals?

Also tried with a black biker jacket but not sure if it works?

Ella I really like it, the style shape suits you & would definitely work with boots/wedges/flats👍🏼

dontcallmelen · 28/03/2019 12:30

Lol I was just going to say try with a biker jacket, I prefer with biker jacket.

dontcallmelen · 28/03/2019 12:30

A navy biker would look good as well.

Laska2Meryls · 28/03/2019 12:34

Ella I really like it! ( I am a Granny, but it doesn't look like my curtains!) . love it with the Denim jacket but a navy biker would be fab also , (Soy said there were some Muubaa ones on Brand Alley ATM.. )..

Where did the dress come from?

Laska2Meryls · 28/03/2019 12:34

Would look fab with Navy Saltwaters also

dontcallmelen · 28/03/2019 12:36

Laska my curtains are fairly ungranny as well, well I hope they are 😂

NotAnActualSheep · 28/03/2019 12:37

Oh cherries - I agree that is a lovely thing you are doing for your DD - and also how nice of your DH to offer to drive Smile . (Did your car get fixed relatively painlessly by the way? That didn't sound good...)

And way back in the midsts of the thread when you were considering a change of job (I really need to keep up more!) I totally agree with others in thinking you'd be inspirational in a weight loss/ makeover kind of role. When I was looking into setting up as a consultant a few years ago I went on a few workshops from "business gateway" (Scottish thing - but I think there is an English equivalent) and they were very helpful in helping consider your strengths/ your market etc as well as the practicalities of self-employment etc (which I know you know already!). There was a chap there who was looking into setting up as a personal trainer, and his USP was that he'd been "a bit of a porker" (his words Grin ) and worked really hard to get fit...so he was able to understand how it felt to start from "nowhere" in fitness etc. And the trainer indicated that that kind of thing really made people stand out from the 20-something gym-bunnies (or the male equivalent) that dominated in the PT area, and made them much more relevant and appealing to people in the same situation...

codfish - I hope it goes well on Monday. Sounds pretty gruelling. I'll second what others have said on floaty dresses/ soft waistbands etc etc. In fact, i think most of my work wardrobe would fit your requirements (but then, I would work in my pyjamas if i wasn't scared of a surprise Skype call....)

fuzzy - I hope you and your DH are recovering. Sounds like a very stressful week Flowers . And also soups - so sorry to hear your DD is still having a hard time. Though it sounds like you have a really good support network for her, and the school is looking out too.

Also soy - thinking of you and your DS - it is a long journey but he does seem to be making steps in the right direction. And Go You with your self-sabotage leading to a next round of interviewing! Well done - even if you decide not to take it further..they obviously think really highly of you. I always find that I do better with interviews if I really can't be bothered one way or another with the job!.. If i really want something i work myself up into a frenzy and then cock it up 'cos i'm so nervous...

A big high five for all of you who went on the march on Saturday. It just wasn't possible for us to travel down, but it was so inspiring to see the coverage of it. Wish TM wasn't so f*ing dismissive of it all - the government's response to the revoke petition was appalling IMO Angry

Loving hearing about and seeing everyones purchases - you all look fab Smile Also lol @ laska falling splat... Sounds like a great haul though. Love the look of the chamonix chinos and also never's cropped jeans - though I have some similar from last year, that i hardly wore 'cos it was too hot. Must dig those out! Also really like the linen jumpers so interested in finding out how those are (though I don't need any more..).

Not sure anything is really strongly calling to me, though (which is probably just as well, as I'm not buying anything til after Easter). I love the turquoise leopard print - and may consider the linen t-shirt or vest in that which I think could work with the blue santana. And I also really like the twist-front dress - though oddly not so keen on the same print on that. Wish they had that in another plain colour other than black. Looking forward to seeing how people get on with their recent orders though, as that may give me some inspiration...

Ellapaella · 28/03/2019 12:41

Thanks Ladies - I'm sure you don't have curtains like this Laska GrinI was thinking my great Nanna circa 1982 with her mustard colour 3 price suite Wink

The dress is only from George at Asda! £18.
I saw on another thread and it caught my eye, I thought I'd either love it or hate it. I think I like it but it's so outside my comfort zone in terms of the pattern I need some convincing. Because it wraps over at the front I'm not sure it will lend itself to breezy days and it has potential to show everything at the front if a big gust of wind comes along (quite likely living at the coast).

OP posts:
NotAnActualSheep · 28/03/2019 12:42

Oooh ella - that looks amazing. The shape is really lovely on you. And love with the biker jacket. I don't think it looks curtain-y at all (unless there are a lot of leopard print curtains around at the moment Grin ). Is that the George one you were taking about?

(Though for full disclosure, I once bought a dress because the fabric reminded me of a sofa my parents had while I was growing up, so I'm not entirely to be relied for in my soft-furnishing avoidance instincts..)

NotAnActualSheep · 28/03/2019 12:44

Ah - cross posted! Still think it looks lovely, but see where you are coming from in the cross-over wind-gust risk.

dontcallmelen · 28/03/2019 12:45

Ella with the risk of sounding sooo much like my Mum, you could wear a vest under it😂 & which I’m always saying to my dd.

Ellapaella · 28/03/2019 12:50

Thanks sheep - Grin had to chuckle at you buying a dress that reminded you fondly of soft furnishings! I think I'm going to be brave and keep it and wear it out for drinks this weekend.

neveradullmoment99 · 28/03/2019 13:04

Fantastic dress @Ella. The shape, colour and pattern REALLY flatter your figure. I say keep :)

neveradullmoment99 · 28/03/2019 13:05

Actually, If it were me, I would buy a slip to wear under it. I have two slips and they are mega useful.
