Holly Willoughbys M&S jumpsuit. Is this going to look shit on me?

I’m 5’ 0.5 cm. size 12-14 hourglass and big boobs. I’m 58. I’m young looking and look best in v casual clothes and live in skinny jeans, shirts, blazers, long sleeved tees etc.

Am I too old, too small, too curvy to give this a go? I don’t want to look ridiculous. Is there any way this might just work? I’d wear it with a plain tee under, maybe a belt depending on fit and trainers ( never ending ligament problem and can’t wear shoes )

I went out with an appreciate mechanic once and they wore these.

It didn't even suit the actual mechanics so I don't think it would suit you, no.

Amibeingnaive the reviews seem to say the legs aren’t as narrow as in the online pics. And certainly the one the model is wearing on the website does look very different to the one on the site worn by Holly. But I like both. I now hope they have one in town I can try on.

Cherrypie Holly might look like she’s just about to spot weld somethIng but I think she looks really good in it. And I’m not a Holly Willoughby fan.

I like it, OP, but I have seen it all over Instagram and think it is a bit of A Thing, and will be very obviously That M&S Jumpsuit like those dresses were last summer.

I can't believe some of the responses on a Style and Beauty thread. Isn't fashion about having fun? Not everyone wants to look the same. I don't particularly like the boiler suit but I'm not going to rip the piss out of it, some people will look amazing in it. I'd much rather see someone having fun with fashion then see everyone in the generic jeans, Brenton tee shirt and converse. Yawn. Mumsnet uniform!

I’m the same op. Whenever I see frills or florals I want to die. Have you had a look at toast? That might well be your sort of thing. They have some very nice jumpsuits (sleeveless but you could stick a top under) tho they are a bit pricier than m&s!
Holly w does look daft in this but that’s because it doesn’t suit her particular look. The blonde bouncy girly type can’t really carry this sort of thing off.

Toast have a really great canvas dungaree/boiler suit sort of thing in dark grey. Unfortunately it's Toast price but I reckon it might land in their sale.

I really like one of the Toast ones but it’s too £££. Will keep an eye out for it going into a sale.

I’m going into town tomorrow. Will try on M&S one if they have it in.

@RhodaChrosite - haha sorry, thought I would need assistance at one point but I'm about 5ft 5, size 16.. didn't sit right on me!! There were plenty of sizes left in the Marble Arch store on Friday.. the toast ones do look lovely btw!!

I've got similar styled jumpsuits from Zara and Banana Republic from a few years ago. I'm only 5'2" and find that any flat/casual shoe or trainer emphasises the 'overalls' look. Sparkly or coloured heels look great though.

Mine are khaki and dark brown and I think that the blue of the M&S one would further amplify the spot-welder look (maybe channel Flashdance...?!) but you could manage a night out at the pub/for a casual meal look with showy heels.

OP (and jumpsuit lovers generally) read thatsnotmyage for inspiration. Personally I think the model looks better than Holly in that walking down the street shot, this should be a baggy look.

Count thanks for the link. I’ve signed up for their newsletter. I really like Alyson Walsh’s style. She looks great in a jumpsuit and it does show that oldies can still carry off ‘on trend’ stuff.

I have it OP plus one from Spry and one from Mango which is a bit more jumpsuity (it has no zip at the front and a tie belt round the waist) but still quite boilersuit style. I love them even though DD says I look like a plumber. The M&S one is fab. So comfy. I wear them all with trainers, either stan smiths or gazelles. I've worn them with polo necks underneath or long sleeved bretons. I'd never wear them with heels although I do have a couple of jumpsuits that are much more dressy/evening. I'm 49, 5ft 5 and a size 8. I love Alyson Walsh.

THis is the Mango one. If you're not sure about the boiler suit look this is a bit less obviously workwear!
