I need a new shampoo and conditioner..

Basically as the title says.. I'm in need of some some shampoo and conditioner!

For the past year or two I've been using bed head products and I've run out of the last lot.

I have recently had my extentions taken out as well so my hair is in need of some TLC.
I'm also booked in for my hair dying and will be going blonder in a few weeks.
I only wash my hair once every 5-7 days so don't want anything that's packed with moisture and will make my hair greasy.

Any recommendations of 'high street' shampoo and conditions from boots/Superdrug etc or should I stay with a salon brand?

I asked my hairdresser and she said to use 'Fanola' which is a silver shampoo and then a Revlon hair mask which they sell at the salon.

@Samind do they help your hair grow?

Not necessarily a high street brand but this has transformed my hair and led to me washing it far less often - Redken Extreme shampoo and also the conditioner. I team it with Redken extreme Anti-snap and also their One United heat protection. I colour my hair regularly and the condition was pretty poor before a few months of this regime!

Seconding head and shoulders ! Using the ones for dry hair- like you OP I only wash my hair once a week or so. It's bed fabulous and my DP has been stealing!

BlueMerchant · 03/03/2019 19:41

I think Johnsons original baby shampoo does it's job and isn't harsh on dyed/damaged hair. Lots of blondes I know recommend it. I like the Aussie conditioner- 3 min miracle.

JustBeenNosey · 03/03/2019 19:58

@HappyAndYouKnowItGlugTheWine ahhh okay, thank you! I'll take a look at this as well 😄

@Judeslife hmmm I might have to give head and shoulders a go.. ideally I think I want to try something more natural this time to try help with my psoriasis.

@BlueMerchant oooo baby shampoo sounds like it would be nice and gentle on your hair.
I've tried the Aussie stuff before and I can't remember which one it was but one of them made my hair very greasy

Yeah they've helped it grow. Seems a bit thicker too but I've started washing my hair every other day and just putting it up when in shower rest of the times.

JustBeenNosey · 03/03/2019 20:57

@Samind ahhh okay! I only wash mine like every 5-7 days hahah

I’ve tried it all from the super pricy to the cheap as chips and I always go back to Aussie.

I use the Mega shampoo and the 3 minute miracle treatment on the ends only.

My hair was rank of late. Both greasy and dry at the same time perversely. Couple of gos with Aussie and it was lovely.

penisbeakers · 03/03/2019 21:09

I don't use shampoo anymore, i exclusive wash my hair with conditioner only, and use OGX Argan oil conditioner.

My hair has been in brilliant condition since I started doing this.

penisbeakers · 03/03/2019 21:10

Balls I hit post

I have psoriasis and I've found what I'm doing with conditioner only helps it a lot.

JustBeenNosey · 04/03/2019 10:12

@NotExactlyHappyToHelp thanks.. I might give it another try!

JustBeenNosey · 04/03/2019 10:13

@penisbeakers oh okay.. does that stuff have Keratin in though as I'm allergic to it.. I've found a lot of Argan oil stuff has it in

penisbeakers · 06/03/2019 03:35

I don't know I'll have to check and get back to you!

JustBeenNosey · 06/03/2019 13:13

I ended up going for the Maui Bamboo Fibres Shampoo and Conditioner. It was in the Vegan/Natural section in boots.. I'm guessing anything Vegan will be good for you? 🤷🏼‍♀️😂
Hair washing day is tomorrow after aqua fit so I'll give it a go and let you all know!

Went into lush as well and spoke to a lovely girl who gave me a sample of two hair treatments.
She gave me some of the H'suan Wen Hua and the Jasmine and Henna Fluff (I think)

Has anyone used any of the 2 Lush Treatments she gave me?

@penisbeakers I did have a look at that OGX stuff when I went into boots yesterday but opted for the Maui one instead. When I have more time to look at the ingredients, I'll have a look at the OGX stuff

I like Nexxus shampoos & conditioners from Boots. I use the Youth Renew ones that are good for fine damaged hair.
My hair is highlighted.
I also have the Wellaplex treatment at the salon 6-7 weekly & use the home Wella treatment weekly.

JustBeenNosey · 06/03/2019 13:29

@tierraJ ah okay, thanks! I'm looking for something that's more natural without a lot of sulphates in I think

OP posts:
tierraJ · 06/03/2019 20:18

Nexxus is supposed to be more natural

JustBeenNosey · 06/03/2019 20:55

@tierraJ oh is it! I might have a look in to it x

Did you like Bed Head, OP? I got a huge bottle of shampoo and conditioner on Amazon for an excellent price. I like it.

Pommes · 06/03/2019 20:59

TIGI Bed Head Dumb Blonde Hair Shampoo and Conditioner, 2 x 750 ml https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01AC3TC0S/ref=cmswwrcppapiii_zsdGCbPPFQ233

JustBeenNosey · 07/03/2019 08:19

@Pommes yeah I did actually.. I used the catwalk one, oatmeal and something else🤷🏼‍♀️

Oh that's cheap! Do you find it helps with keeping the blonde bright and fresh?

OP posts:
Pommes · 07/03/2019 14:44

@JustBeenNosey I'm brunette 😁

I sent that link because it looked most relevant to you. If you search 'Bed Head' in Amazon there are lots at a similar price. I use the teal coloured combo and love the smell. Much cheaper than at the salon!

Pommes · 07/03/2019 15:13

CATWALK by TIGI Oatmeal & Honey Tween Duo Shampoo and Conditioner for Dry, Damaged Hair 2x750 ml https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01B2A1R8A/ref=cmswwrcppapiii_FttGCb9YAXKM6

Is this the one you used?
The bottles are huge.
For £15 they will last forever.

JustBeenNosey · 07/03/2019 16:07

Ahhh okay! 😂

Thank you!
