I cannot believe this £5 Primark foundation

It’s amazing!

I bought it on a whim as all my usual (expensive) foundations have started to disagree with my face (breaking up, going patchy, shininess etc).

I’ve used the Primark one for a week now and it doesn’t do any of that, the colour match is perfect and I’m so pleased, it looks as good now as it did first thing and I’ve worked today so usually my skin looks a bit undone by now.

It’s the one that I think is their attempt at double wear but it’s not as full coverage as that, however that also means it doesn’t go cakey. It is slightly fragranced too so that might not be for some people.

I’m so rarely impressed by things nowadays I thought I’d pass on.

Are their Mac-esque lipsticks any good?

Floral I’d be tempted to say not as good for dry skin- I’m quite oily and this keeps me shine free all day which is obviously one of the biggest selling points for me but might be too far for drier skin.

I don’t know for sure though- might be worth a try for £5, even if you experiment with different stuff underneath?

I made a special trip to get some! Only day 1 and I was a bit panicky I got a shade to dark but I got two shades, one for wearing with fresh fake tan and one for normal colour skin. But it's held up amazing I put it on at 7am and I've been to the gym.

Like you say not an exact match for double wear but it's pretty damn close for £5!

Anyone know which pumps fit the bottles??

Thanks @drbuckles. I will be brave and get it and use after having thoroughly moisturised and primed my face. And it's only a fiver, it's worth a try.

I highly recommend their mascara and concealer stick.
I ended up having a stupid injury that caused a huge black eye (moral of the story- don't allow your DS to play with a tennis ball in a small garden when you are dispraxic and can't see a ball coming at speed). The cover stick worked wonders at covering it.

Thank you to the recommenders of the gel nail varnish- I’m also the type of person who gets chips within 5 minutes usually, even with sally Hansen/Essie gel top coats.

I’ve had 1 coat of the Primark gel polish on all day (one coat gave a lovely coverage), I have not got a single chip at all! For £1!

On the strength of this thread I bought the £5 foundation. I agree it is great on BUT my skin has really broken out Sad I don't know if it's definitely related, it could be random, or hormonal, or a facial I had, or stress so I will continue with the foundation and see what happens. I really hope it's not the makeup as it is brilliant.

Did anyone answer PPs question about a pump to fit it? I've chucked away my MAC pump in a big clear out unfortunately so can't try that.

Might pop in today to have a look at the lashes.

I got a Mac pump which works but doesn't click on securely so wouldn't work for Travel. Keep the lid!

Heulog · 16/03/2019 15:44

Well I never knew you could use other pumps to fit new bottles. Mind blown. Usually just shake some out out onto the bsck of my hand!

I’ve resurrected this thread because as a devotee of this foundation for several years I’m gutted to discover it has been discontinued! Wondering if anyone has found a similar alternative they recommend?
