Leather Leggings?!

BobbilyBoo · 28/02/2019 22:44

I have become obsessed with the idea that I need some some leather leggings, so please can ask two questions....

  1. Do I need some?
  1. And if so, any recommendations?

I’m also wondering if they have longevity. Skinnies are moving on and leather leggings are the same shape.

ilovecherries · 03/03/2019 12:03

littleme, no, of course 70 isn’t too old. It’s about how you style them, what shape you are, etc. At the end of the day, they are trousers.

I agree with XingMing, they were on all the fashion blogs a few years ago, like biker jackets. Now, not so much. I think you investment leather piece this year is a pencil skirt.

circeplease · 03/03/2019 21:53

ah great like 5 years ago then. That’s when I bought my pencil skirt. Prefer the leggings myself though! Don’t give a hoot about fashion bloggers and whatever freebies they are plugging; they don’t interest me nor do I follow them.

I bought some from Aritzia, an American chain, and they ship online. They are stretchy, long (I'm 5'8 and the Zara ones are above my ankle which I find annoying) and jegging like. I'll find a link

KimchiLaLa · 03/03/2019 22:18

These are mine, they're not real leather but they look it in real life and they're great!

Oh and if you're looking for something stretchy, these aren't leather leggings but i just bought these. I got them for gym and to wear on weekends. I get them on Tuesday and will report back.

I'm always torn re leather leggings. They look amazing on some, especially if you have great legs. But they are so expensive, dry-clean only and do honestly seem a bit faddy. I have coated jeans and also some leather lookalike leggings. I feel really dated (or just a bit naff) when I wear the leggings (like I'm the said drunk aunt).

I prefer pleather cos I can chuck them in the washing machine. I bought some from White Company which I can recommend.

Badtasteflump · 06/03/2019 12:21

I bought some a few years ago. They were actually really flattering but every time I put them on I could hear "You're The One That I Want" playing in my head - so I never actually left the house in them for fear of looking like I was heading to a fancy dress party.

BobbilyBoo · 06/03/2019 13:00

I ended up ordering from hush, AllSaints and COS and typically my favourites are most expensive ones from hush!

The COS were really nice and felt good quality but the fit of the hush ones are just a better fit for me.

The AllSaints weren't real leather and just felt a little more shiny than I wanted, but the fit was nice.

I will be wearing them out on Saturday night.... need to get my money's worth out of them before they go out of fashion Wink

Thanks for everyone's help!!!
