Leather Leggings?!

BobbilyBoo · 28/02/2019 22:44

I have become obsessed with the idea that I need some some leather leggings, so please can ask two questions....

  1. Do I need some?
  1. And if so, any recommendations?

I have had them for a couple of years. Not sure if they are still as good.

  1. Yes
  2. Do Grin

£345 is very pricey! You can usually find some really nice coated ones in new look, rivet island or Zara and always less than £50.

Palominoo · 01/03/2019 14:42

I have these and they are very comfortable and easy to wear with lots of different things. They don't make you feel hot.

The Spanx faux leather ones are good, but my daughter told me they looked liked tights, not a good look!

BobbilyBoo · 01/03/2019 14:50

I would like real leather and was expecting £££, just wanted some advice before laying out the cash!

Those with the hush ones what is the sizing like? I'm normally a 10 and they are in stock in Black so could order to try.

We have a COS store nearby so will try and get there to try them on this weekend.

345 quid!?

neveradullmoment99 · 01/03/2019 16:17

I find them true to size. More people have them on the hush thread. You can come over and ask. From memory I remember a few sizing down because they are narrow in the hip. So If you are straight up and down [boy type figure] rather than pair shaped then you maybe should size down. There are also tons of reviews on the website. But come over and ask real people who have them on the hush thread. If you are pear shaped like me, buy your normal size. I also have a bit of a round tummy.

GreenHatHacker · 01/03/2019 16:19

Do the knees go baggy?

neveradullmoment99 · 01/03/2019 16:19

£345 is pretty standard for leather leggings tbh. If you don't believe me, look at Baukjen.

neveradullmoment99 · 01/03/2019 16:20

The do get a bit looser but the knees on mine haven't bagged out. I haven't worn my loads but cherries on the hush thread has worn hers loads so ask her.

neveradullmoment99 · 01/03/2019 16:21

I think most leather leggings can get a bit baggier. Its the nature of the leather.

ilovecherries · 01/03/2019 16:32

I got mine for £200 in the hush sale. I did size down as I’m quite flat on the bum and I felt my actual size was slipping down a bit. I’ve worn them a fair bit and haven’t found them going baggy.

BobbilyBoo · 01/03/2019 17:20

Thanks, I have ordered the 10 from hush so I can see what they are like, they don't have any 8's in stock so I can't downsize. And I found a 10% code for COS so have ordered them so I can compare!

I will report back!! Smile

I don’t think you’ll be disappointed (unless they are a little big which hush can be). Really an investment piece - I love mine.

Schoeny · 01/03/2019 19:43

Does anyone have the baukjen leather leggings? They've sent me a 25% code because I haven't bought anything for a while ever so if they're any good, they might be worth a try. Do I need to size down?

XingMing · 01/03/2019 21:05

Sorry, but I think their moment has passed. If you really want some now, I'd buy at the low end of the price scale (obviously, they will fit well and look great) but be ready for them to suddenly look past it. (Not yours, of course which will be lovely and new, just no longer of the moment).

circeplease · 02/03/2019 16:50

I disagree, that’s like saying “jeans are over”. Leather garments are a staple now, not a fashion item to come and go.

neveradullmoment99 · 02/03/2019 16:51

Agree with circe

hoxt · 02/03/2019 16:56

All saints ones are great. Size down.

Calvinsmam · 02/03/2019 17:29

I couldn’t find ANY that I like except the all saints one but they were £125

Then I found some in....wait for it.... H&M kids.

I’m normally an 8-10 and I’m 5’2 I ended up getting a aged 13-14 but they went up to 15-16 too. They were only £10

XingMing · 02/03/2019 19:44

Even jeans (the universal garment) come and go in fashion terms. The styling, shapes and treatments are endlessly worked on to make them new and desirable. I bought my first jeans (501s) at 12, 50 years ago (not kidding) and I still haven't found one style that will see me out. I have lived different lives -- as a mum, after a London career in finance and PR, which followed finance and the music industry in NYC. I have raw, with stretch, wide, narrow and straight, faded and indigo, girlfriend and nearly skinny. I am interested to see what comes next, because a new pair of great jeans is another adventure.

littlemeitslyn · 03/03/2019 07:22

Is 70 too old for these?!
