Help me find my wedding shoes

Looking for shoes to go with my wedding dress. I've always had in my mind that I would love red shoes. I like wedges and peep toe but I'm open to suggestions. I need to get them ASAP as I need to get the dress taken up ASAP. Budget is.... as inexpensive as possible but would probably spend up to £100.

This is the dress:

That stunning dress is too elegant for red or wedges (and I would love some red wedges!). I think you might have to go more "traditional" with this one.

salsamad · 25/02/2019 23:54

I think DontCallMeCharlotte is right and wedges really wouldn't look right with that gorgeous dress. If you really want red to make a statement and for a contrast to the dress you need something pretty with a high heel -

If you want to make a real statement, I create bespoke hand-painted wedding shoes featuring names, dates, song lyrics, flowers, pictures etc I can paint whatever you want onto them to make them really personal.

Probably not allowed to advertise my website on here but fee free to PM me if you’re interested!

Here's another red satin shoe with peep toe -

However if you do want something more traditional Dunes wedding shoe collection is stunning - here's a lace peep toe shoe -

(Btw I’m a regular from the Pom Bear/Naice ham era - not just popping on to tout for business - I NC so my work stuff isn’t linked to all the other rubbish I post)

gigi556 · 26/02/2019 06:38

I was only really thinking wedges as I thought they would be more comfortable than a heel. I rarely wear heels these days so I'm worried about wearing them all day! Comfortable is important as I want to be able to walk in them and I don't want to end up barefoot!

@salsamad Those are pretty. Never heard of DIY Dress.

I wore wedges. But really dainty diamanté Gina ones. I’ll see if I am find a link. They were comfortable and lasted all day, nobody really saw them but the comfort was important to me

Don’t wear wedges please! That dress is so gorgeous!

I have these and they’re pretty comfortable

These are pretty (pink)

Don't really understand the angst about people saying no to red wedges. With that dress you're probably not going to see the shoes anyway. I wore blue silk flats and nobody knew but me! 😄

NanooCov · 26/02/2019 06:56

I used Shoes of Prey to design my own but they've shut down now. Other "design your own shoes" online businesses are available though.

gigi556 · 26/02/2019 06:57

I meant satin wedges or similar not beach shoes!

Never really wear block heel but these might be comfy?

Why don’t you just wear flats? No one will be able to tell (or care to be honest)

InMyBloodstainedSundaysBest · 26/02/2019 07:56

I love these and think they'd look beautiful with that dress.

gigi556 · 26/02/2019 08:10

@purpleelk I'm under 5 feet tall and feel more comfortable in at least a little bit of a heel.

Please please wear the red! I have worked in Bridal for years ( both retail and on the Designer side) and I can honestly say nothing cheers me than someone wanting to express their fun and personality by doing something lovely like this! TBH, all you will see are the tips of your feet when you walk and the rest of the shoe wont be seen( unless you lift up your hem) Guests love it when there is a little surprise like this !
tip - do not go thin straps around toes- feet swell! and keep blister plasters handy - like saver if anything rubs!! Also chunky heels work as well as wedges (like this!) www.rubyshoo.com/product/983/

ApolloandDaphne · 26/02/2019 08:43

Wear the shoes that make you feel happy. My niece wore white DMs with her short 50's prom style dress. All the guests smiled as they were just so right for her.

FraggleRocking · 26/02/2019 08:51

Second vote for Irregular choice! They are fun, easy to wear and so damn comfy.
Love that Nick of Time pair.

FoxyStoatontheProwl · 26/02/2019 09:27

I wore Harriet Wilde shoes and they were like walking on clouds!!

FoxyStoatontheProwl · 26/02/2019 09:27

Also forgot to add they have some really good sales on at certain times of the year and I got mine for £60 down from £180

GahWhatever · 26/02/2019 09:46

I agree with pp who said that such an elegant dress deserves an delicate looking shoe....but the emphasis need to be on 'looking' rather than whether or not the shoe is actually dainty. Comfort is everything on your wedding day!
You can make a shoe look prettier, more delicate etc by adding a lace overlay, by adding a little sparkle, but it is all pointless if you are wincing by 3pm!
Find a dyable comfortable satin wedge and once you are comfortable have it dyed red and then overlaid with lace to tie in with your dress. If you aren't used to wearing stilettos don't be tempted!

Congratulations btw Flowers

LostInShoebiz · 26/02/2019 11:49

Why don’t you just wear flats?

Because Pronovias design for giraffes.
