Help me find my wedding shoes

Looking for shoes to go with my wedding dress. I've always had in my mind that I would love red shoes. I like wedges and peep toe but I'm open to suggestions. I need to get them ASAP as I need to get the dress taken up ASAP. Budget is.... as inexpensive as possible but would probably spend up to £100.

This is the dress:

@TheShoeLady Bespoke sounds lovely, but I don't have time as I need the shoes to get the dress hemmed and I need to get the alterations done pretty quickly. Plus, I don't think I have the budget for a bespoke shoe!

John Lewis carries a bridal range called Rainbow Club that are designed to be comfortable and can be dyed any colour you like.

I bought two pairs (one was lower in case my feet hurt) but only wore one pair in the end. I honestly think they were some of the most comfortable shoes i've ever owned and may dye them gold or silver for future black tie events.

And the dying is free, I think.

Yes! I’m currently painting on a pair of their shoes and they’re sooo soft inside! I imagine they’d be lovely to wear all day.

Blueuggboots · 26/02/2019 15:35

Someone has mentioned shoes of prey.....try Girotti - similar idea. You can design exactly what you want.

gigi556 · 26/02/2019 16:34

@ladybranstonpickle oh! I'll have to check them out. Can you try them on in store?

I had some high shoes and then rainbow club for when they hurt. They still had a heel so my dress didn’t drag. They were so comfortable.

PrismGuile · 28/02/2019 21:35

I'd go for pale blue satin block heels. I think red would overshadow the dress.

TheCraicDealer · 28/02/2019 22:11

I got comfy looking block heeled shoes from my wedding thinking no-one would see them under my long sleek Pronovias dress.

Reader, people could see them.

I would go for something like these Jenny Packhams from Debenhams- mid heel, the ankle strap will keep them secure all day and the jewel embellishment is almost lace-like, like your dress.

Then I would get a pair of red heels to change into for your first dance/reception (you can rewear on honeymoon!) like these or similar. Once summer stuff starts coming in to stores you'll have plenty of choice.

Lots of red shoes on the Bobbies site. Bit pricey, but these red block heeled sandals might be good:

I got the shoes. Thank you so much for the suggestions. I went with Rainbow Club which are so comfortable but now I'm having a dilemma... I think I really like them in ivory! I'm wondering if having them dyed red is a bad idea now. Confused I need to decide quickly because I really need to send them back for dying like today!

Leave them as they are op, they’ll be perfect with the dress!

Bloomburger · 13/03/2019 11:15

these

I know they're not red but v pale pink but would be comfy to walk in are elegant enough and not £££

Disfordarkchocolate · 13/03/2019 11:17

I'd go for red, red shoes are joyful. Have a wonderful day whatever you decide.

Tootrousers · 13/03/2019 11:36

Op has bought her shoes bloom burger

gigi556 · 17/03/2019 06:27

I've sent them into be dyed so there's no going back! I'll post a pic when I get them back. I guess worst case I can buy another pair if I don't like them.... although I've already spent more than I'd hoped!

I think they would look amazing in red! Good call op!

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/03/2019 06:53

I think the dress is too classy for red too. I had rainbow club and they were very comfortable.

You don’t realise how much standing up brides do until you’ve been one.

anniehm · 17/03/2019 07:24

They had a lovely pair of red block heeled sandals in new look yesterday, nearly bought them but were the wrong red for DD's dress. Only £22! I would have to pair of pretty lacy ballet pumps (mine are Sainsbury's in fact £10) for if you need them later, my feet were killing me by the evening and I had an outside reception so needed shoes on, big mistake)

AprilSpring · 17/03/2019 09:29

Was coming on to say dye them, but I see you’ve sent them off! Yay! They will look great.
And your much more likely to wear them again.
I wore gold peep toes, I love wearing my wedding shoes again, I’m not going to wear my dress again, but I smile every time I wear the shoes to a special event. Plus they are sooo comfy.
Congratulations OP.
