Is this dress too mumsy for a wedding?

It looked amazing on the model online, but on me, I think a bit mumsy?

Should I keep or return?

I think you look really good in it.

I like the shape but not the pattern, I think it's the fact it's butterflies that makes it seem a bit twee and less current.
It looks really nice on though OP, can't see why it's not fine for a wedding, people wear dark colours to them all the time and I barely ever even notice what other guests have on frankly, as long as it's not white.

Agree it ideally needs some non-black shoes and accessories though, or it's a bit workwear.

You could do better

TSSDNCOP · 25/02/2019 19:38

I like it, love the neckline and you wear it well.

The shoes are killing it. Way to dark and solid.

Thanks for the feedback.. I’m not sure what to do now though Grin

It’s this dress..

I think it’s great op, with some lighter sandals like the model is wearing it would look perfect

fearfullotsofthetime · 25/02/2019 20:21

I can definitely find some light sandals, I love it in the model Grin

I think it swamps you a bit to be honest. It looks as though you have a great figure, but the dress is hiding it.

asparalite · 25/02/2019 20:25

I think it looks very smart, it is an unusual print, very striking, I'd like quite delicate high sandal type shoes and an ivory or cream clutch bag with it.

CountFosco · 25/02/2019 20:27

You look great. It's accessorised better by the model so go for light sandals and a bag that picks up one of the lighter colours in the dress. DON'T get a colourful jacket or fascinator and don't wear matching bag and shoes.

hugoagogo · 25/02/2019 20:28

I really like it.

fearfullotsofthetime · 25/02/2019 20:32

Do people prefer this one - I could switch?

I like it, but definitely prefer the other Reiss one, it’s gorgeous!

MrsBungle · 25/02/2019 20:37

I think the second dress is much better. I’d wear the butterfly one to work rather than a wedding.

lazymare · 25/02/2019 20:38

I prefer the other one.

fearfullotsofthetime · 25/02/2019 20:40

The original one?

OP posts:
Bbb666 · 25/02/2019 20:40

It's beautiful and a great price. I wish it suited me!

Bbb666 · 25/02/2019 20:40

Xpost. Definitely the original

fearfullotsofthetime · 25/02/2019 20:41

Oh dear, I’m so very confused Grin

bourbonbiccy · 25/02/2019 20:41

Definitely the second one. I don't really like the 1st one for a wedding. You have a great figure the second would look better IMO

Refilona · 25/02/2019 20:43

100000000000% the second one!!!!

ShesABelter · 25/02/2019 20:43

The first one isn't nice enough for a wedding. It's similar to what my colleague wears in the office. The second ones gorgeous, is the wedding soon?

FraggleRocking · 25/02/2019 20:48

What’s the tone of the wedding?
I prefer the second but some weddings are very casual and the second dress is lovely and glam.

Colinthedog · 25/02/2019 20:52

Sorry, I meant I much prefer the olive green one! My message wasn’t clear at all Blush
