Really curious.

All of a sudden everything makes me look and feel like a matronly frump 😢

Size 10 but curvy with boobs and a belly.

I’m 39 but all of a sudden the things I used to wear look awful on me.

Help

BigSandy I went to house of colour it’s basically a franchise so you’d probably find someone in your area. It’s not cheap but I think long term it’s worth it because I’m not wasting money on clothes that don’t really suit me that sit in the wardrobe and then I give to charity any more!

Sophiemtb · 23/02/2019 10:38

I also have the belly and boob look. I recently found that skater shape dresses are very flattering on me. Choice and Peacocks have loads.

Racheyg · 23/02/2019 10:42

My wedding dress 4 months ago.

Racheyg · 23/02/2019 10:43

@mizu is it flattering? I'm desperate for one but not sure they suit my size 10/12 apple shape.

haba · 23/02/2019 10:48

Following for inspiration! I am petite, reasonably ok looking, forties, but everything I own just feels frumpy atm. Work wear is fine, look great, it's weekends that I struggle with.
I don't wear jeans or leggings, cords/chinos only. I need decent tops though...

mizu · 23/02/2019 11:59

Racheyg I do like it but not sure I'm going to wear it as much as I thought I would. The back doesn't have pockets so it shows the shape of my bottom which I think is a bit saggy Grin other than that, it looks good I think. I am 10-12 but quite tall with a long body.

I follow the frugality on Instagram and shamefully tried one and bought after she posted a pic of her wearing it.

I've worn it with heeled ankle boots and hoping I can wear with sandals in the late spring. Think it'll be too hot for summer.

@itsMutinyontheBunty I like that jumpsuit but it doesn't seem to be online in Next.

ItsMutinyontheBunty · 23/02/2019 13:24

Yeah I bought it a while ago, guess it’s classed A/W18.

CadburysTastesVileNow · 23/02/2019 13:34

Cadburys Thank you!!

I know how you feel, pre Xmas I suddenly felt like not many of my clothes did me any favours.

I bought a few bits - animal print shirt, midi dress, a pleated midi skirt, some snakeskin boots, new box fresh white AirMax trainers, and just a few other bits that aren’t jeans, a jumper and boots. Also a few new work bits. Plus some new make up to brighten me up. It has helped!!

pinkhousesarebest · 23/02/2019 15:20

A pair of chestnut, knee high heeled (but not too much) Italian boots that I bought in a brocante in France for 10 Euros. I couldn't get my calves into them as they were so slim but I bought them anyway and made my 14 year old dd try them on, again and again. Finally, I brought them to a cobbler and he put zips in and a bit of elastic down the side. Now I feel like a queen every day.
Sorry, that was long...

goose1964 · 23/02/2019 15:48

I'm glad so many of you have clothes that make you feel fabulous, my honest answer is nothing within the last 30 years. I have been depressed on and off throughout my adult life and I am now so fat nothing looks really good. I quite like the dresses I had for 2 of my children's weddings and one that I bought for my silver wedding anniversary. I look nice in them but not fabulous.

PalindromicUser · 23/02/2019 17:06

This dress. Cheap as chips too!

HarrySnotter · 23/02/2019 17:22

I am not a jumpsuit person at ALL. I was shopping in a hurry at the end of last summer and picked up several dresses to try on - one of the 'dresses' was actually a jumpsuit, but thought I might as well try it on anyway. It is absolutely gorgeous and makes me feel fantastic. Always had loads of compliments when I wear it. Which is unusual! Smile

Wavedancer · 23/02/2019 17:28

I'm 44 and a curvy size 10 as well. I am currently loving this top
www.sosandar.com/ombre-leopard-print-top
paired with black jeans

Also this skirt www.sosandar.com/red-leopard-print-midi-skirt
worn with a black polo neck.

As you can probably tell, I'm a big fan of Sosandar (all their stuff just seems to fit me so well) and animal prints!

Sunbeam18 · 23/02/2019 21:10

Boilersuit from Lulu & Yak

SuePerb · 23/02/2019 21:18

I got this maje dress in the autumn and love it. I wear it all the time

Just bought a sessun dress that I love too. Looking forward to wearing it this week.

greenpop21 · 23/02/2019 22:18

A denim button through dress from Gap. It's really thick denim and just below the knee. A bit of a 70s vibe to it and could be worn open as a spring coat. Best bit was it was in the sale down from £75 to £10 Grin

Racheyg · 24/02/2019 17:14

Thanks mizu. I think it's a case of me buying a few and trying them on.
