Really curious.

All of a sudden everything makes me look and feel like a matronly frump 😢

Size 10 but curvy with boobs and a belly.

I’m 39 but all of a sudden the things I used to wear look awful on me.

A charcoal grey slightly silky shirt dress from Phase 8, that I bought for a funeral in October. It’s not on the website anymore, but it’s very different from what I would normally choose. It’s a shirt dress, but like a grandad shirt with a mandarin collar and pintuck bib. It made me feel nice for the funeral, when I wasn’t feeling nice at all, and I have worn it a lot for work since. I’m glad I don’t have “funeral dress” in my wardrobe, just “that really nice grey dress, which I also wore to X’s funeral”.

feltcarrot it was September time, does seem to have disappeared from the website. Just had a look on eBay but it’s not there.

I bought a beautiful pink jumper in Cos a few months ago that made me feel 'quite good' but fabulous would have to be about 2 years ago, a very dark blue winter coat with a faux fur collar from French Connection. I can no longer get in it due to massive weight gain 😩

feltcarrot · 22/02/2019 08:23

ItsMutinyontheBunty ah, thank you for looking! I have a coup,e of jumpsuits from Boden which I love but thought yours looked very holidayish! Enjoy wearing it!

Mint velvet cotton cocoon jumper

Quooker · 22/02/2019 09:19

This Dress, I love it

SugarMiceInTheRain · 22/02/2019 09:26

this jumpsuit but in teal. Got loads of compliments wearing it. The main problem is that I'm petite so have to wear massive heels with it. Really need to learn how to alter clothes to fit!

Floisme · 22/02/2019 09:50

Margaret Howell trousers in the sales.
Vintage 60s coat.
Elbow length leather gloves from M&S.

MammaSchwifty · 22/02/2019 10:30

This velvet dress from amazon. So flattering with the ruching, even fitted my bump in the second trimester!

olive green wool circle skirt from MiuMiu
charcoal mens harris tweed coat
blue and green silk kimono top

all from charity shops

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 22/02/2019 16:45

I bought a beautiful hand tailored jacket from a charity shop for a pound 😁 I love it. Did replace the buttons for £1.20. It fits like a glove - could have been tailored just for me. Wore it for an interview. Felt the bee's knees 😊

A gorgeous deep red Hobbs wool wrap coat that I got on eBay. Put it on and felt like Olivia Pope in Scandal and then DC asked why I was going out in my dressing gown...

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 22/02/2019 19:43

I bought a beautiful but very expensive leather skirt from Jigsaw last autumn. I have worn it loads, and feel amazing in it.

More recently I got a lovely green leopard print midi dress in Whistles, which I can’t wait to wear. I plan to wear it with my gold Nikes, and black biker jacket.

kateandme · 22/02/2019 20:54

A top from Anthropologie called Coralie (can't link for some reason). I feel like an insanely hot Renaissance prince in it. The night i bought it I may possibly have put it next to me in bed so I could stroke it. in my defence I would never before this year have fitted into anything in Anthropologie, nor would I have had enough money to buy anything but a plastic bag.

sizzledrizz · 22/02/2019 21:46

A leather midi length wrap skirt, looks gorgeous, always get compliments when I wear it
Maxmara camel coat
Equipment blue silk shirt

SapphireSeptember · 23/02/2019 00:49

The cotton nightie I'm currently wearing, I got it from TU, but the print is so pretty! I'm actually trying to figure out if I could get away with wearing it as a dress come summer (It doesn't have the silly little bow a lot of their nighties normally have.)

Before that it was the trousers I got off eBay (originally from Next) and the black frock coat with ribbon lacing up the back. Trousers are black cotton, high waisted and flared, and have little buttons up the front, and huge pockets! I wore those and the coat with my black bell sleeved top, black leather pointy toed boots, green silk scarf and I used a wide green ribbon as a belt. I think it's my new favourite outfit! Grin

Quintella · 23/02/2019 00:51

@MammaSchwifty I love that ruched velvet dress!

Sorry, wrong thread!

evilharpy · 23/02/2019 08:07

Probably an olive green trench from Hobbs just before Christmas that fits me perfectly and makes me feel a bit 1940s glam.

Before that it was probably a leather biker jacket from Barneys at Asos. Sadly I’ve lost too much weight and it’s too big now, and I can’t find one I like as much to replace it, not even in All Saints.

hopeishere · 23/02/2019 08:22

This dress. I literally put it in and said "love it".

BigSandyBalls2015 · 23/02/2019 09:57

Where can I get my colours and style from. I'm 50, looking a bit old and frumpy these days, have put on weight due to menopause and have got two very stylish weddings coming up with very glam brides. Seem to live in black skinny jeans and various shirts/jumpers combo, with Chelsea boots.

gettingtherequickly · 23/02/2019 10:06

I used house of colour. They have stylists all over the country.
