What moisturiser do you use?

I'm after a new moisturiser as I find the Clinique gel that I am using quite sticky. I would prefer a cream. I have combination skin and am 44 so slightly wrinkly! I'm happy to spend money on it if it is good.

My fellow receptionist used clinique but but I think rather dring/chemical but she is now using Keihl - I think the Ultra one as her face has got drier.

Deathraystare · 20/02/2019 10:05

I use all different things myself. I also when I remember) also use an oil underneath - either Clarins or Decleor or Bare Minerals. Normally at nighttime unless skin really dry during the day as often rushing in the morning.

Using Superdrug Vitamin E moisturiser at the moment, but also use Bare Minerals moisturiser, Decleor, Simple or Nivea (the vitamin one) also some by Garnier.

I also use serums sometimes.

Mmmmbrekkie · 20/02/2019 10:14

Sisley black rose
Pricey but worth it

Deathraystare · 20/02/2019 10:17

Yes Mmmm - I keep trying the Sisley tester! The nearest I will ever get to it!

WoahThereMama · 20/02/2019 10:17

I used to use either Dermalogica, Korres, Clarins it Keihls. I think Clarins was my favourite out of that lot. Am currently using M&S Formula 8 Hrs Sleep Night Cream (can’t remember exact name but it’s something like that) and I like it.

I never got on with Clinique - I’ve always found it quite drying on my skin

WoahThereMama · 20/02/2019 10:18

^ i use the daytime version of the above M&S one in the morning

PG2018 · 20/02/2019 10:20

I use a the nip and dragons blood serum twice a day and no 7 renew and repair day and night cream

VanillaSugarr · 20/02/2019 10:22

Clinique is awful! Over-hyped and over-advertised. I use Kiehls or Origins, or Clarins or Boots No 7 or anything that take my fancy, TBH. The key is using a serum underneath- I swear by Kiehls vitamin C serum. If you’re already paying Clinique prices then go to Space NK for a skin consultation. I’m currently using Sarah Chapman from Space NK.

FudgeBrownie2019 · 20/02/2019 10:38

Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream. My skin loves it. I think moisturiser is so tricky to get right, so I rarely stray now that I've found one that works so well.

Last year on holiday I treated myself to a new supersize pot. It appeared to run out at a ridiculous rate and it was only when I asked DH about it thinking perhaps the DCs had been at it I discovered he'd been using it all over his body as it felt so nice when he tried a little bit. If you buy it, hide it.

NakedAvenger · 20/02/2019 10:57

Ordinary Hyalauranic Acid then
Chanel micro serum then
Boots Cucumber Moisturising lotion (£1.50 but usually 3 for 2)

WanderingTrolley1 · 20/02/2019 11:00

Simple. I’m 40 and people never believe me.

I think the most basic, the better.

glitterbiscuits · 20/02/2019 11:02

I like Liz Earle.

GlossyTaco · 20/02/2019 11:03

Soap and glory speed plump moisture mousse. The texture is lovely for my dry and ageing skin.

meow1989 · 20/02/2019 11:06

No7 beautiful skin day and night creams plus the early defence eye cream, skin nicer since using!

DandilionBreak · 20/02/2019 11:08

Superdrug Vitamin E here. My skin absolutely loves the entire range and my purse loves the price. I think this is my second year of using (previously was always a Simple user) and my skin's never looked better, despite its age.

obviouslymarvellous · 20/02/2019 11:12

I use polaar creams my skin seems to really like them! Not sure they doing much for my wrinkles but for moisturising etc I really rate them x

Thedarklady · 20/02/2019 13:12

Elemis Superfood (buy from Little Skin Shop for a huge discount
Superfacialist (esp. the probiotic night one)
The Eucerin ones in the tubes (especially the ATO Control one)
The Simple one in the pouch (less plastic! Available from Superdrug)

Before moisturising, I use Superdrug B Refreshed Essence Lotion (it has glycerin, panthenol, urea, allatonin and hyaluronic acid so it's fantastic). This has made an amazing difference. I had extremely dry, tight, sore and flaky skin before and now it's not like that at all. It's super smooth.

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 20/02/2019 13:18

Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream when I'm flush, Body Shop Vitamin E Cream when I'm skint.
@FudgeBrownie2019 and your husband is still alive?

FormerlyFrikadela01 · 20/02/2019 13:22

I'm not an expert but everything I've read says that moisturiser doesn't need to be the skincare step you spend a lot of money on. Get a decent serum or face oil and follow it with moisturiser. I use Superdrug vitamin e and it's really nice.

onlyconnect · 20/02/2019 13:34

Do some of you always use the same moisturiser? I chop and change but wonder if I find one I like I would be better sticking to the same one.

MinesaPinot · 20/02/2019 13:43

I'm using up a small Olay Total Effects and about to go onto Clinique Moisture Surge which I got in a set for Christmas.

Have used (and would repurchase) Garnier Ultralift and L'Oreal Laser Renew.

I am also using up a small Clinique Superdefense Night Cream which I like very much, and am tempted to buy the large size.

Thedarklady · 20/02/2019 14:57

Onlyconnect, I think that they work better when you change them up. I have a few that I like and use them in rotation. If anything interesting comes along, then I'll try that but I usually go back to my favourites.

Fudge brownie 😲 What did you do to your husband?!

clippityclop · 20/02/2019 15:17

Estee Lauder, the green one which smells like cucumber for combination skin. SPF15, doesn't clog pores and vanishes without trace. I've used t for years and love it. EL Night Repair is magical too,

mrsoutnumbered · 20/02/2019 15:50

I honestly don't notice much difference between cheap and expensive moisturizers. I'm currently using Sainsburys Q10 day and night ones. I love that they are cruelty free and come in glass rather than plastic. Before bed I also put on Superdrug Calm Skin serum. It's lovely!

MotherOfTheNoise · 20/02/2019 15:53

Nivea in the big blue pot 😂 been using it since my grandma gave me a pot at 10, and she had amazing skin!
