What moisturiser do you use?

I'm after a new moisturiser as I find the Clinique gel that I am using quite sticky. I would prefer a cream. I have combination skin and am 44 so slightly wrinkly! I'm happy to spend money on it if it is good.

Boots Your Good Skin SPF30 moisturiser, with The Ordinary Buffet serum underneath. In the summer I use a separate Ultrasun sunblock but in the winter a moisturiser with an SPF is enough.

obviouslymarvellous · 21/02/2019 08:36

Oh and other fave is good old fashioned Nivea in the blue pot! Love it

FloofyDoof · 21/02/2019 09:16

At the moment I use either eucerin 5% urea replenishing face cream at night and la roche posay hydraphase riche in the morning. Both under £15 and really moisturising while not feeling heavy or greasy.

BlueMerchant · 21/02/2019 09:21

I've tried a few. No7 boots was good, as was vitamin E Body shop and loved a sample of lancome zen but I always go back to the nivea blue pot.

QV cream - plain and boring but
everything lovely smelling and expensive makes me itch

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 21/02/2019 16:04

Clarins firming day and night creams. I have in at 42 and started buying from the 40+ range at clarins.

I’m not sure it’s got rid of any wrinkles or firmed my skin but has left it wonderfully soft and smooth. I don’t have many wrinkles anyway other than when laughing.

The other cream I like for nighttime as it’s thick and rich and takes a while to sink in is polaar night. I got it in a birch box and love it the only thing from birch box I’ve ever considered buying.

JeSuisPrest · 21/02/2019 16:18

Viola Skin Anti Wrinkle face cream. Less than £15 and has amazing Amazon reviews. Been using it for a few days and I'm already impressed.

cjpark · 21/02/2019 16:28

I use Murad Youth Renewal Serum first and then Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream.

ImperfectTents · 21/02/2019 16:39

Nip and fab kale one. It's lovely

Milomonster · 21/02/2019 17:09

Another vote for Sisley Black Rose - it’s amazing. I bought it at duty free and so 20% cheaper. I only use this under make up (nip and fab glycolic pads before) and my skin looks amazing. I use it unde eye also.

For everyday non make-up/blusher only days, I use Mustela Emollient Balm. It’s incredibly moisturizing and soothing. It’s a baby cream but one of the best I’ve ever used as it contains avocado oil and sunflower oil and no nasty chemicals. I can’t imagine using anything else.

Boots No7. Day and night. Plus i have some other bits i had in a gift set at Christmas. My skin has never been so great!

Moominfan · 21/02/2019 20:46

Superdrug vit e

Day time - La Roche Posay Hydraphase spf20 light or rich depending on time of year

Night time - La Roche Posay Cicaplast or MV Organics rose moisturiser. Neither are particular complicated but they are really soothing and gentle on my dry skin. I use a fair amount of acids and retinols so a soothing, fairly plain but rich moisturiser is what I need.

Chickenvindasaag · 21/02/2019 20:53

Nivea soft at night. Very oily skin so any light moisturiser (boots tea tree and witch hazel atm) la roche posay sunblock and soap and glory pore serum, it's the absolute best for matte skin

scrawnybutscrumptious · 21/02/2019 21:01

I've tried a few but nothing beats the Aloe Vera Gel from Holland & Barratt for my skin. I've read scientific reports that say Aloe is proven to improve skin condition. My skin isn't overly dry though.

scrawnybutscrumptious · 21/02/2019 21:02

Oh, and I'm using a Polaar Night cream at the moment and it's lovely.

OrigamiZoo · 21/02/2019 21:07

daytime olay total effects spf30; night-time the ordinary retin serum alternate days with nivea blue pot.

MrsChollySawcutt · 21/02/2019 21:16

I'm really liking the GlamGlow Volcasmic Moisturiser for day time use.

BestIsWest · 21/02/2019 21:27

Neal’s Yard Frankinsence Nourishing cream. Am 55 and have pretty good skin.

covetingthepreciousthings · 21/02/2019 21:32

L'occitane ultra riche day cream has been one of my favourites (though cant say I've used many), it's expensive but lasts me ages.

I don't have a skincare routine at all, it's a case of slapping some on when I remember on a night or morning. Blush

BarkandCheese · 21/02/2019 21:43

Kiehl’s ultra facial moisturiser. I’ve tried other brands, but they either make me break out or aren’t moisturising enough. If my skin is feeling very dry I also use Clinique moisture surge overnight mask.

whiteroseredrose · 21/02/2019 21:43

Anything I'm given. Last one was Liz Earle. Currently using a Vegan one. Often but Aldi own brand.

They all seem to work as well as each other.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 21/02/2019 21:50

After years of being a complete mug product junkie I've scaled my skin care right back to -

Day: Superdrug Vit E eye cream, Inkey List Vit C serum (£6 ish) La Roche Posey F50 fluid (£12 on offer)

Night: Eye cream as above, Inkey List Retinol then Nivea Soft moisturiser (£1 Poundland)

With cleansers I probably pay the same for the lot as I used to for just a Clarins day cream and my skin is looking much better.

mrsoutnumbered · 22/02/2019 09:32

I take back what I wrote about my moisturiser. I've currently got a dermatitis breakout and I'm pretty sure it's down to my sainsburys face creams as it's the only thing I've changed recently.

Maybe I do need to spend a bit more £ after all!

suze28 · 22/02/2019 09:35

Nuxe Creme Fraiche de Beaute over layers of hydration so hydrating toner, mist, Hada Labo Premium, mist, then the Nuxe.
