Talk to me about LVL lashes

superstar63 · 28/01/2019 15:00

I would like to know more:

Is it uncomfortable/painful?

How do they do it exactly?

Do they get tinted at the same time?

How long do they last?

What is the rough cost in North West?

Thanks in advance

Marking this as I have the same questions! Also want to know if you can put your own mascara on top of them?

BeaLola · 28/01/2019 15:12

I have had this done twice - had done week before Christmas & they are still looking good. I have sparse straight lashes this really add curl.

Was not uncomfortable or painful at all. Not dissimilar to having lashes dyed except takes longer so I just chilled out - when I had it done previously had nails done whilst it was taking.

They do get tinted at same time. Cost me £30 0 I'm in S East.

BeaLola · 28/01/2019 15:12

That was supposed to say £30

Cloudsandcandles · 28/01/2019 15:14

They are amazing. Not painful at all and have really lifted by eyelashes (which aren’t very long or curly naturally). I paid £40 and have them done about every 6months. People always comment on them!

BeaLola · 28/01/2019 15:17

I meant to say that you can use mascara with them though I haven't & am happy with how they look. I would probably get done again just before I go on holiday in May.

DustyMcDustbuster · 28/01/2019 15:20

I'm getting mine done again on Saturday. They cost £50 in my area of London! But I get a top up tint after 3/4 weeks.

It doesn't hurt. It's just as PP said, like getting a tint. You choose from tight curl, medium or a looser one (they explain). It made mine look incredible. I rarely used mascara.

It's one beauty treatment that I've had done (once before) & would get again. Regularly if I could afford it!

MoggEatMoggWorld · 28/01/2019 15:22

Another fan here. Got it done for the first time about three weeks ago and I’m delighted with the results - with or without mascara my lashes look fab. Mine are thickish but poker straight and dark but light on the tips so the curl and tint is just what I need.

I would say I found it slightly uncomfortable and was paranoid I would accidentally open my eyes and get the solution or tint in them! I have had no discomfort since though.

You do have to be careful not to get water or steam near them in the first 24 hours I think or maybe 48. And a patch test in advance of course.

superstar63 · 28/01/2019 15:23

Ooh it sounds good! Do they put little rollers in or something? Do they do anythig with bottom lashes or just tint them?

How long does it take?

Thank you all for the replies, what is the best curl to have, I didn't realise there was a choice?

OP posts:
DustyMcDustbuster · 28/01/2019 15:30

They only do the top lashes. They have these sort of rolls (different sizes) & lay them at roots of lashes, then they put on the perm stuff which holds them over the rolls. The tightest was too small a roll for me - my lashes are long so they touched my eyelids.

They tint both top & bottom at same time after.

superstar63 · 28/01/2019 17:50

Sounds like the medium curl would be best. I have been using Revitalash and think it has made them a bit longer although I have not always been consistent with it but trying more the last couple of weeks to do every night.

Is it ok with contact lenses?

OP posts:
DustyMcDustbuster · 28/01/2019 18:00

I wear contacts & it's fine. The salon should know which is best for you, but I'm definitely going for the medium size this time.

CremeDeSudo · 28/01/2019 19:31

I had mine done for the first time last week and love them!

My friend is building up her business and wanted guinea pigs for practising on so I had a perm and tint. I didn't enjoy the process I have to say, and was lying there thinking to myself that I would have to REALLY like them to do it again. I will definitely do it again!

I had my eyebrows tinted at the same time and did the school run with no make up on which I've literally never done before. Definitely a convert!

CremeDeSudo · 28/01/2019 19:44

My one issue has been that I've found putting eyeliner and mascara on a challenge...hoping practice will make perfect!

wickedfairy · 28/01/2019 21:47

I have very long lashes. I had it done and my eyelashes kept hitting the skin above my eyes constantly. Drove me nuts, so I was glad when it lessened.

If you don't have long lashes, it will look great. I was tempted to snip the ends off mine to stop them touching the skin above my eyes, but I didn't... Grin

Pringlemunchers · 28/01/2019 21:50

I didn't think much of it tbh. Really overrated.

Bebe03 · 28/01/2019 21:51

They are brilliant!

One word of caution from personal experience - if you get a bit addicted & carry on having them done, eventually (after three times +), they will cause your eyelashes to grow oddly - cross over each other so you have an odd shape to them.

So get them done, their great just give your lashes a little break in between!

DustyMcDustbuster · 28/01/2019 22:05

@wickedfairy mine did that, but I thought because I chose the tightest curl. ConfusedHmm

theharlotletter · 28/01/2019 22:20

It does actually work and lasts quite a while, but as another poster said it seems to make some of your lashes grow quite squiggly.

wickedfairy · 29/01/2019 07:48

I didn't get a choice of curl! She was very good at it but now I realise she used too small a rod, for the length of my lashes....

SoonBeSpring · 29/01/2019 07:54

I have the tightest curl and my lashes do touch my sockets for a few days but they do drop a bit and are fine.
I don't bother with mascara in the day at all now, LVL is a game changer for me.
£45.

flintfoxy · 29/01/2019 07:57

I wasn't impressed - mine seems to have dropped out after 8 days - not sure if I should complain

DustyMcDustbuster · 29/01/2019 08:03

I might get my lady to take photos on Saturday so I can show you. I'll try to remember!

superstar63 · 29/01/2019 09:20

Dusty, I would love to see photos.

I have found a salon that does Defining Lash Lift for £35 (she works from home by the sounds of it) but has good reviews on website.

I emailed and asked if it is the same as LVL and she said yes and also tinted for that price.

What do you all think about this? It is nice and local to me and she has a beauty studio upstairs and does nails, massages, brow tints, Russian lashes etc.

DustyMcDustbuster · 30/01/2019 10:58

@superstar I will do. It’s actually Friday, not Saturday! Blonde moment. I’m so excited to get mine done.

Re. your local lady, I would google that treatment & see what ppl say. I’ve only heard of LVL, tbh. X

superstar63 · 31/01/2019 08:48

Thanks Dusty, hope they are as good as you hope!

She has lots of good reviews on her website and facebook so suppose that is good enough and I suppose Lash Defining Lift is a bit vague but will try googling it.

I am going to make an appointment mid February before my holiday and also may try the back and shoulder massage and facial when I go for the patch test so its not a wasted journey lol.
