Here we go again, and as always say what you like about the clothes but keep it civil re the wearers of said clothes!

Thanks I think @QueenOfTheAndals 😳

Do I get to wear the Mumsnet Royal Tiara for the rest of the day?

Clionba · 29/01/2019 19:33

It's just so literal and unimaginative.
As if there's a hive mind.

megletthesecond · 29/01/2019 19:36

Marking my place. These threads are always a pleasant distraction from real life.

YahBasic · 29/01/2019 19:43

I have weirdly had a reoccurring dream that H&M have a daughter called Eleanor who they call Elle.

So much so, that I feel I might need to put money on it Grin

I really hope that they don’t use Alexandra or Adelaide, as selfishly hoping they don’t get popular for my future daughters’ names!

I’m so convinced it’s a girl, that I can’t think of any boy names, although Leo Alexander Sussex is lovely.

Really William should've gone all out today too and showed up in matching Black Watch tartan trews!

Curlywurly when you said PC had been at Dumfries House, are you sure as it seems to belong to the nation and not to him:

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dumfries_House

Would I be too cynical if I suggested that he threw his weight behind the restoration so it gave him a lovely Adam house to use when the odd guided tour wasn't going round?

itswinetime · 29/01/2019 20:33

Saw this and had to ask which one of you ladies sent a child to check on the extension rumour??? Wink

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 29/01/2019 20:36

PC owns Birkhall inherited from the QM.
I know he took a loan on behalf of the Duchy of Cornwall in order to restore it.
If he had an apartment to use there; I wouldn’t be surprised.

Tortycat · 29/01/2019 20:43

Kate hasn't always been quite such a literal dresser - the Harpers Bazaar retrospective someone recently linked threw up this outfit on a trip to Dundee a few years ago, which i much prefer style wise to todays

Also think she looks much younger in more casual outfits. Agree the coat dresses add years. Think this outfit would have been warm and cosy today!

Tortycat Ahe looked great in that photo. I like that coat a lot. It was also the time of the short lived fringe which although it made her look even more like her mother, I quite liked it. It was something different.

Bloominglovely · 29/01/2019 20:46

Ps I was talking about the photo of her wearing the blue coat.

LoversLane · 29/01/2019 20:56

Who guessed yesterday the tartan dress re-wear for the Dundee visit? Spot on!

CreakyBlinder · 29/01/2019 21:01

I like the fringe/blue dress photo. Skinnies and a great coat and boots would have been a much more down to Earth, youthful look though.

Me!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 29/01/2019 21:08

Kate really suits the fringe. I think she should have one again, takes years off her.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 29/01/2019 21:30

Nic shot of William today.
Despite the bald head; he is still a handsome guy.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 29/01/2019 21:34

Now this is where coat dresses confuse me.
In the morning, William was in a suit and I assumed Kate was just wearing it as a dress.
Now William is bundled up with an overcoat and a scarf, and Kate has just added a scarf. Was she wearing a second dress underneath?

QueenOfTheAndals · 29/01/2019 21:44

How are they out there without hats? At least Kate's abundant locks gives her some protection but William must be freezing!

Meghan is out and about again from tomorrow til Friday. I'm guessing she'll repeat one of her £££ coats and pairs of shoes but team them with some relatively inexpensive maternity dresses. And colour-wise navy or cream is a good bet, as always!

CreakyBlinder · 29/01/2019 21:59

I dunno, I wasn't wearing a coat this afternoon so it can't have been too bad.

WhitherShallIWander · 29/01/2019 22:01

What is the rumour Queen?

WhitherShallIWander · 29/01/2019 22:01

Please

Forgetting my manners on a genteel thread Smile

AlsoBling2 · 29/01/2019 22:04

Did anyone watch her speech? The first bit was not great - she looked and sou fed uncomfortable. I chalked up at first to her well reported nerves about public speaking. But then she got more comfortable. And again, at first I thought she was just relaxing into it. Then I realised, it's the text. The first part of the speech is Terrible. Its clearly supposed to be off the cuff and spontaneous, but she can't carry that off so it sounds awful - sound bites about how she has enjoyed walking around and being inspired ext. All clearly prepared in advance and therefore not terribly believable. But then when she gets to the part where she's actually talking about the museum and why she thinks it's important ext, it's all much more natural

She needs to fire her speech writers. There are ways to say the same things but without sounding like an idiot. E.g.," i have been so looking forward to seeing the museum in person and knew it would not disappoint. "

She's being let down by advisors who aren't helping her to act in a way that is natural for her.

Your highness - feel free to pm me! I have a little experience with this kind of thinking Grin.
