How bloody rude of the beautician Fazackerley!

Can you please give me a link to the one you get from Amazon? My work gave me £200 of Amazon vouchers for Christmas so I might bite the bullet & get one too.

O4FS · 24/01/2019 19:05

I too am going to bite the bullet and head to John Lewis with my Christmas vouchers tomorrow.

Then I am booking in for my last head to toe wax ever. 🙏🏻

Fazackerley · 24/01/2019 20:15

The one I had before was cordless and it was a pita. Had to keep charging it. Deffo want a corded one.

Fazackerley · 25/01/2019 07:21

ladyratterley it was the BRI950/00 model. Has a cord. Only one attachment (I know I'll only use one)

OP posts:
O4FS · 25/01/2019 09:44

Do I need all the attachments? The 4 attachment one is out of stock on John Lewis website.

I have teenage DDs so this has become an investment now. Grin

Fazackerley · 25/01/2019 09:47

I know I won't use them. I'll use the body one on my face, doubt I'll even use the face attachment tbh.

OP posts:
Pringlemunchers · 25/01/2019 13:29

What the difference in the attachment s ?

O4FS · 25/01/2019 14:33

Face, bikini and underarms.
I think they are just curved differently. I doubt I’ll use them but got the one with attachments as the DDs will use it in time, I’m sure.

Yes, I now own one.

O4FS · 25/01/2019 14:34

The face on seems to have a red filter on the attachment.

O4FS · 25/01/2019 14:37

Open the booklet and the first thing I notice is to check with your doctor if you have freckles 🙄 I am freckly. Very freckly.

Fazackerley · 25/01/2019 17:44

o4fs I am freckly. I bought a white pencil and coloured over a couple of the very dark ones. It was fine.

OP posts:
O4FS · 25/01/2019 17:51

Thanks, I’ll do that.
Zapped my ‘Tash so far - and sure it feels a bit tingly still 🤔. Need a decent length of time for the rest.

Fazackerley · 26/01/2019 10:20

Mine should be coming today, yay!! How's the skin o4fs?

OP posts:
O4FS · 26/01/2019 11:59

Fine! It felt a bit tingly for quite a while after but no after effects.

Going to book a top to toe wax, hopefully the last one ever!!

RagingWhoreBag · 26/01/2019 12:05

I did book a laser treatment at a salon but the girl doing it asked me twice what my husband thought about my chin hair. I'm quite robust but it made me feel awful so I don't want to go back!!

That’s outrageous - what an idiot she sounds!

FWIW I have a similar IPL machine and my tash, chin and arm pits are now completely hair free all the time. After about 4 or 5 treatments a couple of years ago. It’s fucking magic! The only place I need to sort now is my legs, which are about 90% hair free but there’s a few I missed.

It’s absolutely life-changing, you won’t regret it! My confidence in the way I look has improved so much since doing it, I used to cover my face when I was out in daylight talking to someone in case there was any rogue hairs that had grown since I plucked yesterday.

And it’s just so nice to put on a vest top and not have to even think about shaving my pits!

Fazackerley · 26/01/2019 12:30

I know!! So rude!! It didn't really sink in until afterwards! Then I felt terrible.

I'm off to buy a white pencil to cover two dark freckles I have on my chin then hopefully will give my chin a blast tonight! This time I'm going to try and get the hairs on the back of my thighs (a tricky place to reach!)!

Do you think there’s a lower age limit for use? DD is 14. I try to discourage her from removing her body hair but as a dancer she notices it.

RagingWhoreBag · 26/01/2019 14:05

I think they say not to use under 16 - my DD is 12 and I’d love for her to be able to use it and save her years of feeling self conscious but worried what it might do to her delicate skin. I’ve read it can discolour skin, although I haven’t noticed it (I’m olive skinned). In an adult I guess you can cover that with make up if needed but for her with her naturally pale skin and being unable to wear make up at school, if she ended up with darker skin instead of hair I don’t think that would be any better!

O4FS · 26/01/2019 16:05

Thanks - I couldn’t see anything in the book that came with it, but I suspected as much.

I don’t think she should use it, but then I don’t think she should be removing body hair st her anyway! At least I can say no to this.

MyDcAreMarvel · 26/01/2019 16:10

My 13 uses it or rather I do it for her, there is no issues. Think they just say under 16 as it hasn’t been tested on under 16’s no logical reason why you can’t.

O4FS · 26/01/2019 16:14

Thanks Smile i’ll See how I go with it and then decide.

Am quite excited to start zapping!

Fazackerley · 26/01/2019 19:19

Just done chin and tash. I have a lot of very dark hair on my chin for some reason (no pcos AFAIK)

Used setting 4, it was so quick and almost completely painless.

THE CORDED ONE IS SO MUCH BETTER than the cordless one I had last time. Super quick.

Quite looking forward to doing legs now!

teetotalling · 28/01/2019 10:22

Awaiting mine I bought from JL on Sunday. I'm so excited! Really hope it works!

Could you actually attack the bikini area properly, Hollywood style, do you think?

I will never wax that area again. I found it as painful as childbirth.

teetotalling · 28/01/2019 11:28

Aha. Here is my answer! I'm gonna be a bloody pornstar superstar 😂😂

Fazackerley · 28/01/2019 11:52

I did my chin again today - must try and wait a week from now before I do it again. I used the highest setting and it pinged a tiny bit - not as much as the salon version though. The only irritatign thing is sometimes it doesn't register properly so doesn't light up on the smaller areas.
