That platform is a bit weird, it reminds me of my great Uncle’s polio shoe.

Having just been introduced to the concept of “mum boots” (of which I am an avid fan), can someone shed some light on what is currently considered a “cool” boot? I mostly wear dresses and leggings with ankle or knee high black leather (mum) boots. Am very happy with this but curious about options!

I have these boots in fact I have two pairs they're just boots, mine are on their 4th winter so great cpw. Some years I'll wear them daily in winter, other years I'll give them a rest however this year they're back in favour with me and I have been wearing them a lot.

Not keen on the boots because of the clunky platform, but omg those trousers they were styled with were beyond fugly. If that's fashion, I'm happy bring frumpy!

Not mum boots but very cool due to slight platform. People on here who love lakeland, fly boots, white stuff, joules and the like will say they are gross of course

I think of mum boots as those which are designed to be entirely practical, with no thought to either fashion or whether they are flattering. So the most boring, bland style. The boot equivalent of jeans that are just that little bit too short/shapeless - they do the job of covering your arse but there is nothing appealing about them.

They're the sort of boots that can go either way. Teamed with a decent pair of jeans or a maxi skirt on someone that exudes "cool" then yes, definitely run the risk of looking a bit wrong side of old school though.

Personally, I'd wear them.

I've just bought these, they are super comfy and have been asked about them both times I've worn them so far.

Brittany I’m not a fan of any of those (although I do have a Joules dress and a jumper thing I only wear to pilates!) but still don’t like Acne boots!

Aren’t they an update of the Pistol boot (which I prefer tbh)? I used to work in fashion before DC & everyone had the Pistol ones.

I'm with Teamnixon, the cuban heal and platform sole don't go together. They look confused to me.

I love these boots. They are my go to boots and CPW is much lower than cheaper boots that I've bought and only worn a few times. Very comfortable too.

Yes, this is an update to the Acne Pistol.

I think the pistol are more classic, although I’m not sure I would pay that for a boot that’s peaked iyswim.
