Can you recommend an eyeshadow primer?

I'm currently using up Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion which I don't really like. It's too thick and pale. I've used their anti-ageing one before and that was better but now I'm coming to the end of my tube of Primer Potion I'm on the lookout for something better.

Nars pro prime smudge proof eyeshadow base is excellent, I used to use Urban Decay primer but it just wasn't doing the job. Nars lasts all day and keeps my eyeshadow in place, no crepes or smudges.

The nars one I use is the original which is white but blends to translucent, but they also do tinted ones now too

I use the NYX proof it in the white tube I think it's good

I've been using the Avon one for a few years now - my eyelids are really greasy but it works really well. Usually £7 but often on offer for £4

I absolutely love the Rimmel one. It’s way better than the Urban Decay one - I was really surprised at how good it it. My eye makeup doesn’t budge all day and on the odd occasion that I’ve fallen asleep with it on, most of it is still in place in the morning. It’s only about £3.99 or something.

I just use my face primer on my eyes, should I be using a specific eye primer?

I may give Nars a go - but most MUAs I know use the urban decay one - mine lasts for hours and hours !! All day and night!

I just use face foundation. As shown to me by a make up artist. Works perfectly

I use my face primer, then foundation then a quick going over with face powder if I'm using a powder eyeshadow if a cream straight from primer to cream.

Urban decay does different versions of the primer potion now. You can get a shimmery one, a paler matte one, or a skin toned one etc.

Kiko also do an excellent eye base as part of their seasonal collection - they might still have it on sale in store.

I have a Bare Minerals one (called 5B or something) which doubles as an eyeshadow but it is quite occlusive

Also got a Barbara Daly one which is lighter and more skin tone.

I quite fancy buying the W7 Lemon Meringue (which looks a dupe for Benefits 'LemonAid' )

I also use the Mac paint pot in painterly.

I have oily eyelids and honestly this stuff is brilliant, my eyeshadow stays on all day with it!
