Pockets on dresses

Who on earth invented pockets on dresses. Is it to strengthen the whole ' equal rights' agenda. Just because men have pockets on trousers, doesnt mean they have to suddenly appear on every dress on the market. Just as I think I have found a dress that will suit me, low and behold it has pockets. I can assure you it does not do any favours to someone like me who is pear shaped. Just gives the dress a strange shape and adds on another inch to my sides coz they stick out. #dontPutPocketsOnEverydress

I bloody love pockets on my dresses and proper size pockets on trousers. I think there's plenty of dresses without pockets if you don't like them.

I am very pear shaped but I bloody love pockets on dresses. I wear dresses more than pants because I find them more comfortable and I hate having to lug a bag about because of a lack of proper pockets.

Pockets on dresses (and skiets) are the dogs bollocks.

Never ordered from here so I can't comment on quality but I think all these dresses come with pockets unless you choose otherwise.

I think women have been commenting for years that they would like pockets on dresses (I love them) so manufacturers are making them. It does make ironing more fiddly but on the whole I don't find that they add much bulk, and it's so handy.

I very rarely come across dresses with pockets - I don’t own a single one and I have quite a lot of dresses. Where are you shopping OP?

I LOVE dresses with pockets. In my job I have to carry stuff with me and using a bag isn’t practical.

My pet hate is when you think a dress has pockets but it’s just decorative zips.

Uniglo dresses have proper side pockets. I won’t buy a dress unless it has pockets

I have several dresses from Boden, all with pockets, and I love them. The Phoebe dress is my favourite.

Not always a flattering shape I agree but I find them comfortable, Weird Fish and Fat Face do them.

Lol i think I may have put this post in the wrong area, very sorry. Havn't really put my own post up before. Just was venting my frustration. I suppose I ABU as everyone has different preferences. I was just getting very stressed as my post- children figure does not seem to fit in anything . The pocket thing just tops it off for me as it makes me look bigger in areas I already feel very sub-concious about :( i can't seem to find anything as I also need semi- formal clothes for work. I always wear longer dresses on trousers to cover my thighs.

You're in the right section OP, it's just unfortunate we don't agree! I do sympathise though, I have a similar problem with annoying front pockets on blouses and t shirts, completely pointless and super unflattering when you have big boobs. Many a promising looking top has been ruined for me by a boob pocket.

Do people want pockets to put stuff in or just to put your hands in?
