which dress?

Another one of those threads but I really need an opinion.

I'm going to a Muslim Lebanese evening wedding and so I need a dress that's both conservative and looks good on me.
Arms are fine to be on display however I have massive arms so I tend to hide them anyway.
We were told to wear what we wanted either way but I would like a maxi anyway as I rarely show a lot of skin plus I want to be respectful of the culture and family.

Dress 1 looks good on me but it's a bit too sexy in my opinion.
Dress 2 makes me look fatter than I am but I like it and it's the perfect shape length and has full sleeves to hide my arms.
Honest opinions and just so you know I'm aware I have lumps and bumps showing but I will be wearing spanx on the day so I'll look flatter and in better shape.
3x c sections = a huge mum tumSad but that will be tucked away on the day Grin.

If anyone has any other recommendations I'm happy to give them a look.

Dress 1 has an open back too so may not be suitable but why do I look so huge in the 2nd dress? Sad I love that one more just not on me

Dress 2 looks a bit too like a wedding dress IMO.

Viviene · 09/01/2019 21:22

Dress 1 looks way better on you, Dress 2 is more appropriate hence Dress 2 wins.

messyhousetidymind · 09/01/2019 21:24

Dress one is very sexy. I'd keep it and wear it another time

Derma · 09/01/2019 21:24

One is not appropriate and two is incredibly unflattering

jenelleyg · 09/01/2019 21:25

I think I need to try more options then.
I can't seem to find anything with a good shape but that covers me except for sleeveless options but then I have huge muscular armsSad

I don’t think either is right. You look amazing in dress one but dress two is unflattering on you. Keep looking OP

jenelleyg · 09/01/2019 21:28

I never look good in anything unless it's a bit tighter then I bloody look like I'm trying to be sexy.
I always look either try hard sexy or frumpy mumsy Hmm

You look amazing in dress 1. I agree - keep it and wear it elsewhere.

Ellieboolou27 · 09/01/2019 21:29

Dress 2 is very unflattering- sorry but you have a lovely figure and dress 2 does nothing for you. I think dress 1 is beautiful and elegant, you could wear a pashmina to cover the back during the day.

CharlyAngelic · 09/01/2019 21:33

Dress 2 does not suit you .
1 is nice. However if it is unsuitable for the occasion, do not wear it .

jenelleyg · 09/01/2019 21:36

Thank you everyone.
Back to the drawing room. I do have another option which I'll try and get a photo of.

OP posts:
messyhousetidymind · 09/01/2019 21:42

Think it's the fishtail shape that makes it a bit too sexy.

Maybe something straighter if you want to tone it down without being frumpy or if you like no2 a waistband with a softer fabric and less material in the gather

puguin86 · 09/01/2019 22:05

Where is dress 1 from it looks amazing 😉

Ribbonsonabox · 09/01/2019 22:18

Dress 1 is gorgeous but it is a bit sexy if you want to be conservative. I like dress 2 but it doesn't suit your shape as much as dress 1... it's not ugly though I think it's a very pretty dress

RickOShay · 09/01/2019 22:19

You look absolutely gorgeous in the first dress, I agree with Ellie, get a pashmina, or keep it for another day

jenelleyg · 09/01/2019 22:25

third option?

which dress?
OP posts:
jenelleyg · 09/01/2019 22:27

They're all from ASOS. Dress 1 is on sale so be quick if you want it.
Just to say that I've been told no colour is off limits so long as it's not plain white but I think I'll be returning dress 2 now anyway.

FoggyNelson · 09/01/2019 22:30

Oh dress 3 is lovely! It shows off your waist a lot more than dress 2.

Greenglassteacup · 09/01/2019 22:32

Dress three OP

merrypukemas · 09/01/2019 22:32

Dress 3, definitely. Keep dress 1 and send back dress 2!

RickOShay · 09/01/2019 22:33

Oh yes that’s nice, just the right combination of elegance and sexiness.

Still think you should keep dress one though Grin
