which dress?

Another one of those threads but I really need an opinion.

I'm going to a Muslim Lebanese evening wedding and so I need a dress that's both conservative and looks good on me.
Arms are fine to be on display however I have massive arms so I tend to hide them anyway.
We were told to wear what we wanted either way but I would like a maxi anyway as I rarely show a lot of skin plus I want to be respectful of the culture and family.

Dress 1 looks good on me but it's a bit too sexy in my opinion.
Dress 2 makes me look fatter than I am but I like it and it's the perfect shape length and has full sleeves to hide my arms.
Honest opinions and just so you know I'm aware I have lumps and bumps showing but I will be wearing spanx on the day so I'll look flatter and in better shape.
3x c sections = a huge mum tumSad but that will be tucked away on the day Grin.

If anyone has any other recommendations I'm happy to give them a look.

user5trillion it's by city goddess. It may come up if you type that into ASOS. I remember there weren't many sizes left when I ordered.

Perfect 👌

Elledorado · 10/01/2019 06:26

You look AMAZING in dress #1. Two times better than the model (I wouldnt have looked twice at that dress on asos but I'm now considering buying it! If only the 10 was still avail...)

jenelleyg · 10/01/2019 08:37

elledorado Thank you that's so sweet of you to say, I really love the dress and it's the cheapest of all three at £22. I am keeping it and forcing the DH to take me somewhere nice very soon.

[echo] Dress 3 is lovely on you and so is dress 1!

User5trillion · 10/01/2019 09:53

Hi op thx, they have it in my size, sadly I am not tall. Thx for putting the link out there, very sweet of you. And yes you rock it better than the model!😁

User5trillion · 10/01/2019 09:55

Oh oh oh, they have it in standard length - ordered 😁😁😁😁😁😁

CharlyAngelic · 10/01/2019 09:57

You look way better than the model in that dress 1 ....

jenelleyg · 10/01/2019 09:59

They did have the regular version too, I'm only 5'4" so definitely not tall.ive found the petite version, maybe the normal is sold out.

Ah glad you've found it. It's come up in pink now too which never came up the first time I searched. i may have to have it in both colours Shock

Dress 3 is fab in every way.

I don’t like dress 1 but had to click on the link to see if people were telling the truth about you looking so much better than the model - and they were!!

smudgedlipstick · 10/01/2019 10:20

Dress 1 is absolutely gorgeous, but not for a wedding! Dress 3 is also beautiful and I think it would be perfect for what your describing 👌

jenelleyg · 10/01/2019 10:25

Thank you all. I like style and beauty I've never been complimented so muchBlush.
I may or may not have ordered a couple more options from ASOS however Confused.

Whats dress 3 called? I've been searching for it and can't find it Sad

jenelleyg · 10/01/2019 12:03

They're both ASOS design both in the sale section. Dress 3 was £120. Dress 2 does look great on the model that was around £60 I think. I will try to post the link later when I'm home.

Ding dong for #1.

Totally innapropriate though.

Luckyme2 · 10/01/2019 12:58

Dress 3 is stunning and perfect for your event! You look amazing in dress 1 though! Definitely keep it for another day!

CandleWithHair · 10/01/2019 14:51

Dress 3 is fab op, and dress 1 - hubba hubba!

I think you’ve made the right call BUT before dress 1 is written off totally, it might be worth checking on what some other guests are wearing. I have Muslim family and the weddings I’ve been to the women go ALL OUT and that dress would not be out of place at all! My family are western Muslim tho so it will depend how traditional they are.

jenelleyg · 10/01/2019 18:32

They are going to be doing a religious ceremony at the venue on the day too so it will definitely be too much for that.
I think dress 3 still makes me look a bit bigger than I am but I do really love the dress it's beautiful.

OP posts:
pangolina · 11/01/2019 12:35

Dress 3 is amazing, you look gorgeous in it. I love it.

jenelleyg · 13/01/2019 21:37

Soo sorry to resurrect this again but you lot have been so helpful... I stupidly went and ordered more dresses, I've sent dress 2 back and kept 1 and 3 but now I love dress 4!
what do you think? between dress 3 and 4? I will be wearing dress 1 elsewhere not to the wedding

which dress?
OP posts:
jenelleyg · 13/01/2019 21:38

I feel I look skinnier in dress 4 but dress 3 has more drama, it's not as usual as dress 4.

OP posts:
VioletCharlotte · 13/01/2019 21:48

Dress 4 is nice but it looks a bit too like a bridesmaids dress. I love dress 3.
