Mascara - tried 100's, not stuck with 1??

I am constantly on the chase for a good mascara, I have tried 100's and change brand / type every time.

Any recommendations for a good day to day mascara that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

Have you tried Benefits, They're Real? It's pricey but you can buy the small tester size in Boots to give it a go before getting a full size. I find it's not too thick, doesn't clump, covers even tiny hairs and doesn't smudge or run. My absolute go to.

WarIsPeace · 08/01/2019 14:29

Masterpiece max is my budget favourite, it's quite good and not expensive.

Benefit Bad Gal Bang is my current fave, got mine duty free in the summer. The Roller Lash is really good too.

Maybelline lash sensational is really good for the £6 mark too.

I buy lots of mascaras, always looking for that holy grail.

Essence Lash Princess mascaras, I really like the green one Grin

applepineapple · 08/01/2019 14:32

Green as in packaging colour (there are different types!) not mascara colour Blush

Charlotte tilbury full fat lashes is the best I've ever found...2 coats and I prefer it to false lashes!

OHolyNightOwl · 08/01/2019 14:55

Eyeko Black Magic is my favourite, but still not a HG.

Bourjois volume glamour max mascara was THE best mascara ever. Then first they changed it and then discontinued it. Woe.

Pearlgrey1 · 08/01/2019 15:00

Benefits, They're Real is the only mascara that makes a difference to my straight lashes and doesn't clump them together x

bellinibobble · 08/01/2019 15:29

Another vote for Benefit They're Real.. worth every penny. It's amazing!!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/01/2019 16:30

Too Faced Better Than Sex

DD has the regular and the water proof - her HG

LaPampa · 08/01/2019 16:30

Following as I need a new mascara but hate buying them and being disappointed so I literally use the front of magazine ones. The benefit they’re real didn’t work with contact lenses for me. I used to like a Lancôme one but I can’t buy them now because of nestle.

beanaseireann · 08/01/2019 18:11

Chanel Le Volume or Essence Lash Princess.

jeaux90 · 08/01/2019 18:23

I don't like the benefit one but my theory is that it's all about brush preferences. I keep going back to my classic yves SL one, non waterproof version. False effect I think it's called.

Pieceofpurplesky · 08/01/2019 18:24

I have tried loads and always go back to maybelline

Huffleypuff · 08/01/2019 18:25

They’re real leaves me with horrendous panda eyes 🐼

MadisonAvenue · 08/01/2019 18:25

Another vote for Benefit They’re Real from me. It lasts all day for me and doesn’t clump. It’s worth every penny.

DerelictWreck · 08/01/2019 18:30

I hate benefits they're real - looks great but it's so heavy on your eyelashes that I touch them a lot and they fall out Shock also find it really clumpy if you try and out more than a tiny bit on

Aaaahfuck · 08/01/2019 18:30

@Huffleypuff that's kinda crazy because it is the only one that doesn't for me! Urban decay eye primer is good if you have problems like this lots as I do. I've tried all sorts and would vote for they're real too. I've just bought the newest benefit one but it hasn't arrived yet as I got it from ASOS with a voucher so can't report.

Huffleypuff · 08/01/2019 18:35

What do you do with the eye primer? I’m probably thinking of the wrong product but I have the little purple tube but it only goes on my eye lids?

sar302 · 08/01/2019 18:40

Another vote for benefit, they're real. Transforms my lashes and my whole face as a result! (My lashes are v blonde.)

Goldangel · 08/01/2019 18:48

I was a big fan of benefit they're real until I tried mac in extreme dimension waterproof mascara, gives volume, really lengthens and a bottle lasts a lot longer than the benefit.

JellycatElfie · 08/01/2019 18:52

On a budget I like Maybelline colossal in the yellow tube, it’s usually on offer in boots too. It lasts ages.

Expensive wise I like Mac zoom lash. Neither of them smudge for me either. Estée Lauder mascaras are quite good for me too.

I do think it depends what brush you use and how you put it on. I also think you need to give it a few weeks for the mascara to dry up a bit in the tube, I find a brand new mascara never does the same as a two week old mascara!!

Maybelline have a new one called snapscara which I haven’t tried yet but I have it ready. Might try tomorrow actually!

UtterlyDesperate · 08/01/2019 18:53

Origins or Bellapiere - not hg, but make lashes defined without being clumpy or spidery.

TeddyIsaHe · 08/01/2019 18:57

Bobbie Brown Smokey Eye NASCAR’s. God it’s good, long, soft, fluttery lashes. No clumps!

TeddyIsaHe · 08/01/2019 18:57

Mascara! God knows what autocorrect is on about

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 08/01/2019 19:26
