They have had some monstrosities the last few years, but I have recently bought these three tops from them and I'm not kidding they are gorgeous on and great quality. Great with jeans for going out, or with trousers for work. I've not bought from them for years, so thought I'd share.

Definetly worth a look even if these aren't your thing,,,,

This is more bronze than the picture shows:

This looks way more expensive than it is and the colours are quite muted :

This is just great on,

Anyway, as said these might not be your thing, but they have some decent stuff in again,,,,

They are lovely blouses! I’ve bought some knitwear and skirts from them this winter, mostly because of the quality and price. I .think they’re improving as well!

carrie74 · 29/12/2018 22:34

My friend has this blouse, it looks fantastic on, I covet it very much!

I bought a pair of Mum boots there this week and now I see the point of a Mum boot.

The flatform brothel keepers were hilarious though.

TheFaerieQueene · 29/12/2018 22:42

I don’t think much of them tbh.

WhatFreshHellisCis · 29/12/2018 22:43

🤮

Bluntness100 · 29/12/2018 22:47

That funnel neck blouse is very good too,

Faeriequeen, appreciate they are not everyone's taste, just simply I've not bought from them for years and laughed with everyone else at their monstrosities, so thought I'd say they have some really wearable stuff this season.

And I can honestly say they look way way more expensive than they were. Definetly a far cry from some of the unwearable crap they have been churning out in recent years...

I have this jumper in cream and red. They are comfy and good quality. I worse the red one one Christmas Day with this skirt and my Stan smiths

I like the bronze one and the white one a lot- would buy those if I wasn't pregnant and hadn't gained two stone!

Bluntness100 · 29/12/2018 23:07

It's interesting a quick flick through their website shows a lot of their clothes are now much more wearable.

For example, this, I'd definitely buy this for wearing on holiday in the summer. They clearly have changed something in their buying team because there is clearly some much improved stuff on there now.

That bronze blouse is lovely.

HarrietSchulenberg · 29/12/2018 23:45

Sorry but most of these still look like nasty polyester horrorshows.

Bluntness100 · 30/12/2018 08:46

Harriet,,,🤣🤣🤣

Yes peoples tastes differ.

I like the style of all of those, but given that it's Autograph what a shame that they didn't make them in silk at a higher price.

Smidge001 · 30/12/2018 09:13

I quite like the style of those blouses, but they completely look like polyester. I haven't checked the labels but I can't think of wearing man made fibres for a shirt. Got to be cotton or silk or its just sweaty shiny yuckiness!

duriandurian · 30/12/2018 09:20

YY, I was out yesterday with friends and admired a really lovely star jumper. Perfect and casual but prob not worth the £90 from Hush I thought. No, it was M&S.
I think sometimes they are a bit anticipatory too. Last year when cords and fairisle came it I was super frustrated as their website showed that they had sold amazing versions back in 2016. That said, I walked- as a shortcut- through the city centre store near me yesterday and it looked like a Soviet Russia documentary. Awful and utterly unappealing.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 30/12/2018 09:27

I really like the cotton jumpers , I'd need to check the length of them , some are boxy.
I've only bought wool this winter after being seduced into buying a Chenille (Primark in dark grey) that was lovely (£15) but looked like the cat had been pulling at it after one wash/one wear Sad . So now only 'better ' ones , Uniqlo, M&S

Love the 2nd blouse , the olive/red one . I don't wear much in the way of smart but it would be nice with jeggings

Bluntness100 · 30/12/2018 09:43

The olive blouse is actually great with dark indigo jeans.

I've not been in a store recently so can believe some of them are still a nightmare...😱

WWWWicked · 30/12/2018 09:49

All 3 blouses are 100% viscose or polyester, and they look it too.

The bronze blouse would have been lovely in silk.

importantkath · 30/12/2018 10:43

I popped into Marks and Spencer's the other day and I can honestly say there was nothing suitable for women under the age of 50. The shoppers were all of retirement age and a few relatives taking their older relatives out.

Mum asked me to give some black trousers a go, and try them on, so I went...

The pee dribble stain on the chair in the changing room finished me off.

Aethelthryth · 30/12/2018 11:01

Still polyester

Amaaboutthis · 30/12/2018 11:35

I agree. The stores are fairly awful but there are some really great pieces in there. I’ve started shopping there again after giving it a seriously wide berth for at least the last 20 years.

I’ve bought
£6.50 cotton tops for layering. Cotton and don’t shrink
£15 winter jumpers, wash and hang really well
Biker boots - to be fair shoes have always been good
Wide leg trousers for work
Cashmere cardigan and jumper in the sale which I’ve been buying over the last few years as investment
Relaxed slim jeans - just fabulous, perfect fit, great price
Patent rucksack. Great quality for the price.

I also loved but didn’t need some of the midi dresses, leather look pleated skirt, some blouses as posted above.

katekat383 · 30/12/2018 11:37

Brothel CREEPERS??

katekat383 · 30/12/2018 11:44

Only the 40 denier black opaque are worth buying. They actually hang up their “wool blend” rough-feel winter coats in a horribly creased state. Even charity shops steam the garments.🙄
