Winter coat

Anyone got/seen a nice one? I'm looking for

• wool or wool-blend

-tailored or at least vaguely shaped – not into the 'oversized' or 'cocoon' looks

• pockets you can actually put your hands in!
• not boring black or camel or grey. Open-minded about prints and, to an extent, checks, although I don't want to go too Basil Rathbone. I like animal prints and am not averse to faux fur.
• high-street budget (highest I can go is about £250)

Cos and Massimo Dutti have some beautiful colourful coats. What sort of colour are you after? This one is gorgeous.

Don't know really. I've had red so am looking for a change. I like forest greens and khaki-ish green (not too muddy though). Or a monochrome print perhaps. Or animal print. Would think about blue, but not navy.

I’m actually a Jigsaw fan but if you’re not keen, try Hobbs for more fitted styles. Worth a look.

Cos website not working!!!

Oh no! Try it again now, maybe. I've just managed to order the Cos hot pink one. A bit unsure that the pockets will be adequate (I like to be able to stuff my hands in!) and wonder if the lapels are too wide (I like to stand them up -like a poser ) but we'll see.

Op I bought a Cos coat (different style) and the pockets are luxuriously deep, like halfway up my forearm deep, so fingers crossed for yours.
There are so many great coats this year, I wish I could justify buying several one (love the pink one and the blue MD one with the scarf).

My new Jigsaw coat arrived today. Plaid, long, roomy. Very deep pockets. I put my hands in and out several times.

There was a beautiful green tailored coat in the mango sale today - it's very much below your budget but felt quite thick and good quality. Will have a look on the website for it.
