Nursing bras that actually give you a decent shape?

Does such a thing exist? Does anywhere do "normal bras" (underwire, slightly padded etc) that also have the nursing clip part? All the ones I have give me no shape at all and don't have properly moulded cups or underwire or any padding (my boobs haven't grown particularly with BFing). Most of mine are from M&S BTW.

TIA! x

I got a great one from Freya (think it's called a moulded nursing bra). Pricey but it does everything you want and I've worn mine to death

BendingSpoons · 14/12/2018 07:16

Following as had this problem. Also I prefer to buy in a shop but often seems you have to order online. I have heard Hotmilk being mentioned but not tried myself.

TwoGinScentedTears · 14/12/2018 07:17

Elomi was the best I ever bought

TrobadoraBeatrice · 14/12/2018 07:18

Ewa Michalak (a Polish brand) do underwired nursing bras which are very well upholstered! I've never felt so uplifted...

Firstly you need a bra that fits properly. If you got "fitted" in M&S you're probably wearing the wrong size. Check your size using Boob or Bust and/or get measured in Bravissimo.

Secondly there are several options for nursing bras, Bravissimo has a good range, and there are lots of online shops (nursing bra shop etc). Brands to look out for are Freya, Panache, Hot Milk etc.

Thirdly you can buy a normal (non-nursing) bra and then convert it to a nursing bra using a kit from the suckle store. However if you get a normal underwired bra you must make sure that it fits properly.

I really rate one of the Cake bras and it's all I really use (plus softer ones for lounging). I'm small back fucking massive big cup and they give the best shape. I'll look for a link later.

Do you mean the Sugar Candy? I like it too!

Roobub · 14/12/2018 07:57

Wow, thank you all so much!

I didn't get measured, I just tried loads on until I thought I had the right fit... Before taking the plunge with buying new ones though I think I'll have a proper measure.

Lots to look at now, thanks!

ASOS do some beautiful ones and Helen Flanagan has a nice range too

BobDobbs · 14/12/2018 08:09

I had an Anita underwired one which was brilliant, but I could only find it online and they use American sizing so it was a pain to find the right size.

BobDobbs · 14/12/2018 08:10

I would go to bravissimo to get measured and then look online.

astoundedgoat · 14/12/2018 08:17

I loved my Hot Milk ones - even got the matching knickers for them. They felt like real, nice bras.

CaptainWentworth · 14/12/2018 08:32

I only have Bravado Body Silk nursing bras, and I really like them- they are soft and don’t look like much but they do give a really nice shape under clothes. Only thing is that the cups sort of gradually taper into the straps so do show a bit under vest tops- I want to try some of the recommendations above and get a more ‘normal’ shaped bra for wearing with certain outfits.

Roobub · 14/12/2018 08:46

I'm really liking the idea of converting some of my existing bras to be honest now! Only because I think I can be quite fussy with bras! In an ideal world I like 3 hook and eyes at the back, a deeper middle bit between the cups and a balcony shape... Finding that plus padding, underwire and nursing access seemed like a pipe dream, but maybe not now if I can convert them!

Do your BoB measurement and then we'll talk Wink

Roobub · 14/12/2018 10:08

Haha OK I will!

Figleaves have quite a good range of nursing bras with underwire or flexi wire.

verite · 14/12/2018 12:41

Anita nursing bra was best one I had and I tried quite a few.

verite · 14/12/2018 12:42

By the way - I tried the Anita on at Rigby and peller to get right size. Then ordered online as cheaper.

rollonoctober · 14/12/2018 12:43

Def bravissimo, I've got some wired pretty nursing bras from there.

chloechloe · 14/12/2018 13:42

I’m currently wearing one from Hotmilk (awful name!) which is underwired and moulded.

I doubt you will find a balcony style in a nursing bra though as they all seem to taper up to the clips.

Itssosunnyout · 16/12/2018 20:45

John Lewis own brand nursing bras are brilliant. Fairly priced but really soft with no wire but still give a shape

Cooella · 17/12/2018 19:34

I got an underwired one from hot milk and then very quickly got mastitis. I'm convinced the 2 are linked so back to droopy uni boob for me. 😒

INeedNewShoes · 17/12/2018 19:37

Panache Sophie is my best one.

The John Lewis pack of two with elastic above the boob when unclipped gave me mastitis so just be aware of any pressure on top of the boob if you choose that style.
