Honestly.

Would you wear these boots ?
OP posts:
pickingdaisies · 11/12/2018 08:55

My sister has an almost identical pair, they look great on her.

pippistrelle · 11/12/2018 08:58

I think they're quite nice. Not my style but not offensive in any way. What's your issue with them, OP?

SinglePringle · 11/12/2018 08:59

Not a chance.

akitas2 · 11/12/2018 09:00

They’re actually not very nice, sorry.

GrungeSponge · 11/12/2018 09:13

Probably not. They'd end up being a pair that I just couldn't make work.

pippistrelle · 11/12/2018 09:13

I like your certainty, akitas2. It's not that you don't like them, but that they're not very nice. (Not being sarky, I really do like your certainty.)

Bigonesmallone3 · 11/12/2018 09:19

Honestly...
Nope!

HeronLanyon · 11/12/2018 09:27

No because I know I would never wear them just because they aren’t my style. However I don’t think there is anything ‘wrong’ with them at all. Wouldn’t think anything at all about them if I saw them out and about on someone.

Bestseller · 11/12/2018 09:33

I had some very similar c.1989 and therein lies the issue. On me they'd look like hadnt updated my style since. On a younger person they'd be fine, although I don't love the colour (mine were oxblood, is that still a colour?)

Branleuse · 11/12/2018 09:42

I dont paricularly like them but theyre pretty plain and non offensive. Theyre not the sort of boots where someone is going to say "ohhh i love your boots ", but they would go with certain outfits and be uncontroversial I guess

GreyHare · 11/12/2018 09:44

No. Not my style at all.

museumum · 11/12/2018 09:44

I think they’re very blah. Neither this nor that. Not high but not flat. Not delicate but not stompy. They’re just a load of compromise, in-betweeny.

LaurieFairyCake · 11/12/2018 09:48

I think they're great with dresses and tights

Anything with an 'open' neck so there's a gap between boot and leg looks great with tights

I have 4 pairs I'm making work like that

HellenaHandbasket · 11/12/2018 09:49

No

OneStepMoreFun · 11/12/2018 09:52

I really like the uppers, but not keen on the shape of the heel. I'd probably wear them with jeans but not skirts.

Atalune · 11/12/2018 09:53

There is something about the buckle placement that I just don’t like.

However they will look nice with dresses and Skirts, especially a midi length one.
I wouldn’t wear with jeans or trousers as I think they would look quite bland.

Atalune · 11/12/2018 09:53

On a second look the leather looks very good quality so am liking them slightly more!

Fashionista101 · 11/12/2018 09:54

Nope. Sorry it's a firm no from me.

lazymare · 11/12/2018 09:54

No

lazymare · 11/12/2018 09:56

Actually, they could work with the right shape of jeans.

Sallygoroundthemoon · 11/12/2018 09:56

Yes. I like them.

DoubtOfTheOrdinary · 11/12/2018 09:57

I think they're fine. They'd never become my favourite pair, but I'd get some good wear out of them with short dresses / skirts and tights à la LaurieFairyCake.

Racecardriver · 11/12/2018 09:59

No. I really loathe random functionless buckles. Looks very messy.

crispinquent · 11/12/2018 10:00

If youve got great ankles and calves yup

PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair · 11/12/2018 10:03

Nope. They look a touch too Lotus.
