  1. What is it?
  2. What kind of coverage does it have?
  3. What type of skin do you have?

I also have dry skin and sun spots on my cheeks.
I do like the IT Cosmetics CC cream but have had most success by using 2 foundations - a light/medium all over (using CT Light Wonder or Laura Mercier Silk Creme) and then a full coverage over my bright red nose and the sun spots either side of it (usually Marc Jacobs ReMarcable). I don’t get on well with concealer but find using a full coverage foundation as a sort of concealer does suit me better. I’m 48 and full coverage over the whole face tends to emphasise texture and fine lines and, as you have noticed they can be really drying. You might be able to use some of your rejects as ‘concealer’ perhaps.

IdaDown · 10/12/2018 22:54

Doll10 Hydrogel - medium/full cover. But doesn’t ‘look’ it

Dry skin, redness around nose, spots on jawline

I got it from QVC so I could try and return if needed to. Very happy with it. Goes on better with a brush. Buildable.

QVC also do IT Cosmetics.

I use Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish.
It's the only one I've found that covers my pigmentation issues (long standing melasma) without looking caked on.
It's a cream compact type which I apply with a sponge.
Put it on, then a dab of Benetint, then Clinique loose powder and I feel normal again!

On days when I don't wear foundation, I moisturise then use Clarins Beauty Flash.

I would highly recommend Flawless Finish op.

Amortentia · 11/12/2018 00:09

I’m very pale, dry to very dry skin and prone to redness.

I like Estée Lauder DW in 1N1, it gives the best coverage and finish and really lasts. But, it’s a tiny bit too light and drying sometimes so I mix it with Rimmel 25h Ivory which is almost as good and a fraction darker.

I found Armani Luminous Silk ok, good for dry skin but doesn’t last. I am surprised at the hype around it tbh.

I HATE It cosmetics luminous CC cream, it highlights every pore, spot and line and makes me look like a disco ball.

By far the best foundation I have ever used is the Bobbi Brown Skin foundation. It’s buildable, good on dry skin and has loads of shades.

Hi, I don’t know if you managed to get the one you are looking for. I am a make up artist but I use diff products on myself to my clients... so up until recently I was using make up for ever foundation/ came to around £28, however hard times nearChristmas meant I wanted to look for a cheaper alternative. I did a bit of digging and came across revolution foundation, YouTubers etc were raving about it so I tried it out. I actually love it and give me great. Coverage for a total of £9. So firstly I’m not sure on ur skin type, I’m a combo skin I have dry patches and normal skin type. I have found this foundation has helped me and my skin is less dry. Some people finds it doesn’t sit good on them. But I’m telling you it’s worth a try cuz if it fits you, you’re getting quality for an amazing cost... I used to by 2 of the MUF every 6 weeks and for £56 and now I’m getting 2/3 for £27 and it’s not lacking in quality. Hope this helps Smile

1.Urban Decay Naked skin foundation, been using it for 5 odd years now

  1. Medium coverage I'd say
  2. Combination skin (sometimes a bit oily)
SpamChaudFroid · 11/12/2018 14:20

The Revolution one is a bit of a dupe for Tarte Shape Tape isn't it Shelle? The concealers in that range are fab.

Eatmycheese · 11/12/2018 14:27

Bourgeois Healthy Skin (with serum) is the best foundation I have ever used.
And I have tried a lot of them.
And spent a lot of money trying them. It beats the £30+ ones hands down in my humble opinion

This one is fabulous. Blends beautifully, no patches, minimum shine control required, gives my skin eight hours sleep which I never have thank you children.

I have Normal to dry skin fairly sensitive

zjojo · 11/12/2018 14:45

Clinique SuperBalanced in Alabaster (super pale neutral undertone)
Medium coverage
Dry Combination skin with redness

StarStarStar This stuff is magic - coverted me to using foundation!

After you put it on it takes a minute or so to 'set' and TADA! flawless even toned skin. Sorts out redness.
Adds moisture where it's need but still ends up with a light, velvety, matte texture. Ends up being not greasy at all even though it might seems a little more oily than the usual liquid foundations when it comes out of the bottle.
Doesn't sweat off or slide or come off on clothes you're trying on in the changing rooms.

legolimb · 11/12/2018 16:29

QVC have the IT cosmetics CC cream plus mascara and a pallette of powders on at the mo. Looks good value .

Aqua25 · 11/12/2018 16:37

I use estee Lauder camoflage, i have sun spots too and have dark spots that pussy spots have left behind, im on warfrin so get bruised easily.
The foundation is full coverage with the tiniest amount used and i have combo skin

bellinisurge · 11/12/2018 16:45

Utterly shameless place marking. I go without rather than wear some of the failures I have tried.

legolimb · 11/12/2018 17:39

sorry I didn't post the link correctly

itcosmetics

ChristinaMarlowe · 11/12/2018 17:56

Dior Dream Skin

Buildable to whatever coverage you like - can be full but not enough to cover scars etc.

Combination skin

SundayGirls · 11/12/2018 18:16

I have mid 40's reasonably good skin, I love a full coverage but can't wear it like I used to as it looks too flat and shows up hollow areas (sigh).

I like Bourjois Healthy Mix (not serum) foundation and the Perfect 123 Foundation.

The Healthy Mix is medium coverage and builds well. I also find the shades are good for me as I have yellow not pink toned skin and I find they lean towards yellow.

The Perfect 123 foundation is full coverage and longer lasting.

I tried the Body Shop Clay foundation and liked it a lot but it's very matte and chalky. Sadly my 40+ skin can't take chalky foundation any more! Same for Estee Lauder. It looked like a mask on me. Too flat, even with pearlised highlighters on top.

I did love the Dior Foreverskin foundation but I was between shades and even mixing them didn't get the right results. Clarins Everlasting foundation was good but again, not really the perfect shade.

In summer I love the Touche Eclat foundation but it's too light wearing for winter.

Basically as I've got older the shade range is just as (if not more) important than the texture. What I really want is a full coverage yet radiance foundation in the perfect shade. I can get two out of three of those but I can't say I've found The One yet. (weeps)

SlowNorris · 11/12/2018 18:40

Wow lots of you are happy with your foundations!

I ordered some it cosmetics from QVC as they have the 30 day return promise so will give that a go.

The Revolution recommendation is interesting, will definitely look into that. Make up forever was on my list to try, has anyone tried it?

I’ve tried bourjois in the past and wasn’t impressed but will give it another go as it’s probably changed since then.

Very much enjoying seeing all of your favourites, keep them coming!

Revlon colorstay for combination skin (theres 2 types)
Its full coverage. Its actually a dupe for double wear.
My go to foundation just makes my skin look amazing. And it's only about a tenner.

legolimb · 11/12/2018 18:46

I don't like to wear foundation often but I probably should do.

When I do want to polish up my look I use a Laura Geller Balance and Brighten powder foundation. Seems to just take the shine off and even out my face slightly.

So am reading this thread and may order the IT CC cream myself.

caterpuller · 11/12/2018 19:40

I swear by IT cc cream, having tried thousands in my time! The radiance one is gorgeous (in the pink tube) but I also have the regular. I'm also really impressed with the No 7 foundation drops that you mix in to your moisturiser.

OldJoseph · 11/12/2018 19:52

Has anyone with pink undertones had much success with IT cosmetics CC cream? It appeals to me.
Just looking on QVC you seem to chose your shade according to increased warmth, I'm Cool Vanilla in No7 so not ever so pale but no warmth either.

SallieSallow · 11/12/2018 20:08

Definitely a good idea to order IT cosmetics from QVC due to the 30 day money back guarantee.

OldJoseph I’ve got yellow undertones and found medium in the cc cream was too pink for me so that might be right for you. I used to have to buy a second tube in tan and mix them, but hallelujah they now do a medium tan which is perfect for me.

BiggFactHunt · 11/12/2018 20:09

I’ve got Light in IT Cosmetics and it’s yellow based. The brush they do is really nice too, Heavenly Skin one.

Racecardriver · 11/12/2018 20:10

I have oily but flaky skin with enlarged pores. I use beauty pie everyday foundation on top of beauty pie primer. It works ok. It’s very buildable without looking cakey. Doesn’t last as long as it could but that’s more because of my skin I think. Very good value for money.

NiceUnusualDifferent · 11/12/2018 20:22

Oldjoseph the light in IT Cc cream is very yellow however the fair is much more pink/neutral and definitely not really pale.

SlowNorris · 11/12/2018 20:22

Just researching the it cosmetics (why didn’t I do this first) and apparently the tube says to apply every 2 hours? Shock and it contains snail secretion? Shock

Not sure about that.
