Can anyone become beautiful?

I was just wondering what you thought about this. Do you think anyone can be beautiful with the right tools?

Obviously some people have a head start and beauty comes from within but I still wonder what you think.

And I guess the next question is: how? I think I look a lot better now I’ve focussed more on having good hair and wear more colour but don’t feel quite there yet in terms of looking my best but am unsure what to do next.

Yep! The stuff celebs/ famous people do us insane to create this though!
Everything is about making your face as symmetrical as possible..sounds odd doesn't it! But look in the mirror you will notice the differences between the two sides!

Celebs even have their hair line altered..
A huge difference I think is always get your eyebrows done professionally!!
Have all your face hair removed!
Use a good illuminator!

desperatesux · 29/11/2018 10:52

Yes I think as long as you don't have any overwhelming bad features. I have a friend who was pretty plain but she lost tons of weight, toned up, used the right creams , best hair cuts, colouring (not the most expensive but well researched) clothes same, amazing but often from cheap places. She keeps it up though too, eats really well and while she was probably the plainest of the group initially as we have got older looks the best as she looks so healthy and youthful. I watched her do her makeup once, she used lots of products, took far longer than I but looked like she had barely any on while I used half the stuff and looked caked.

BusterGonad · 29/11/2018 11:15

I don't think everyone can look beautiful but you can certainly look like the best version of yourself iyswim! Bring slim and having a good eye for what suits you goes a long way, knowing how to do make up well is a huge bonus.

ladybee28 · 29/11/2018 11:49

I think a lot of people confuse 'beautiful' with 'groomed in a way that's up-to-date'.

Celebrities to me don't look that beautiful - they look manufactured and like they'd be off-trend in about a year if they didn't change anything.

They look very groomed, but I don't think that's the same as being beautiful.

For me, the most beautiful people are the ones who work their quirks – who don't necessarily have special haircuts or fancy eyebrows or lots of makeup, but who just look 100% like themselves.

I know it sounds cheesy, but for me if you're clean and happy, you're 1000 times more beautiful than when you're plucked and shoehorned and tattooed and caked.

itsbritneybiatches · 29/11/2018 11:54

I don't think anyone can look beautiful
To everyone.

Everyone who I have ever thought beautiful male and female has grown on me to look beautiful after I've got to know them.

I've never met anyone and gone omg they are soo beautiful.

MoltonSilver · 29/11/2018 11:59

Yes, I think everyone can look beautiful.

There is a certain beauty and elegance that comes from looking confident and comfortable in your own skin.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 29/11/2018 12:02

Totally agree with Ladybee beautiful is such an over used word, as is stunning, so no I don’t think you can make yourself beautiful, you can make yourself look attractive, stylish, well presented etc, but beautiful is the pinnacle of looks, beautiful is a thing you just are, very few are Helen of Troy.

JaneJeffer · 29/11/2018 12:11

I agree ladybee I think looking like the unique person you are is more beautiful than trying to look 'beautiful ' in that insta-ready way.

There was a woman on First Dates the other night called Sarah and I thought she was beautiful because she had her own style and looked so happy.

haverhill · 29/11/2018 12:18

No, but you can make yourself as attractive/healthy as possible.
Few people are 'beautiful' but most can be attractive.

DishranawaywiththeSpoon · 29/11/2018 12:33

I think most people have it in them to look beautiful, there's a reason it tends to be rich people who look beautiful. However I think to be truelly beautiful you'd have to put in a hell of a lot of effort

For me I know it's a cliche but beauty comes with confidence. I think if people are clean and neat and happy in themselves then they almost always look great.

I think generally a good haircut, eyebrows done well, neat clothes (of whatever style just clean, no holes probs ironed) is the main starting block.

Personally I think I probably could be beautiful if I tried, spent hundreds of pounds on make up to give me a natural look, good clothes, lost weight and toned up, regular haircuts, regular nails and dermatologist visits. I'd probably need a good diet too for my skin., minimal alcohol etc. Gently teeth whitening, maybe some really good veneers. I could probably get there and I think everyone could but tbh there's better things to do and I'm not sure id look like me, Im happy to aim for looking good.

Delatron · 29/11/2018 12:35

No I just don’t. You can make the best of what you’ve got but with beauty you wouldn’t need to try very hard.

Delatron · 29/11/2018 12:36

Truely beautiful people don’t need to put the above effort it and money can’t buy beauty. I kind of think you’re born with it.

OHolyNightOwl · 29/11/2018 12:55

No, but everyone can be either sexy, cute, pretty, striking, attractive etc.

I know a few truly beautiful people (Men and women) and they barely have to do anything to look how they do. They could get up and step out in their PJ's and they would still turn heads.

BusterGonad · 29/11/2018 15:17

Dela has hit the nail on the head for me!

Noonemournsthewicked · 29/11/2018 17:08

I remember reading an article where Dennis Hopper recalled when he was made up as a woman and was expecting miracles and later had a new found understanding for all the non super model looking Hollywood women. Make up can only do so much.

Surgery on the other hand. Procedures like Ashlee Simpsons nose make you realise how one 'off' feature can really throw a face.

TellItLikeItReallyIs · 29/11/2018 18:10

Hell yes. Touch of the plastic surgery goes a treat too.

This is true, sadly.

I've never met anyone and gone omg they are soo beautiful.

Over the years, I have. One of my friends at university was effortlessly beautiful. She was also a beautiful person. My daughter in law is absolutely stunning and is a kind and lovely. Her whole face is stunning. Beautiful slightly tanned skin, dark hair, amazing eyes, slim and a beautiful flash of white teeth. She doesn't even need to try.

I have also met people who aren't naturally beautiful. My aunt. With a mixture of clothes and style they have looked utterly amazing. So, yes you can look beautiful even if you are not born that way. I agree about the grooming.

CartoonCat · 30/11/2018 00:12

So interesting to hear views!

I’m of two minds. I don’t think beauty is a meritocracy but at the same time there are things you can certainly change.

OP posts:
KringleBells · 30/11/2018 00:20

Attractive, yes, beautiful, no.

Grapetree · 30/11/2018 00:26

Agreed with delatron

I have a decent body, dress well, and my hair can look nice after going to the hairdressers. But this doesn’t matter when I have a terrible face - my features lack symmetry, and even if I were to get plastic surgery I still wouldn’t look as good as someone who’d won the “genetic lottery”

Everyone can improve their appearance with grooming though

Cabochard · 30/11/2018 09:26

Pretty children don’t automatically have girls wanting to be their friend or boys wanting to hang around them.
Usually girls are jealous and the males intimidated.
Best not to worry about looks at all. That ain’t easy though... Wink

Elledorado · 30/11/2018 09:36

Yes. I've always believed anyone can be beautiful with enough money and willpower. Many rich people prove this.

domesticslattern · 30/11/2018 09:43

I have a theory that all women look beautiful on their wedding day. I have never seen an ugly bride IRL- it is the radiance from within of being loved which makes them positively glow. Plus of course it is a day to pull out all of the stops re make up etc.

Someone will now post terrible wedding photos to prove me wrong ...
