Hello fudge- didn't see you there! Happy birthday to minifudge too! Hope you have managed some time to yourself too this week. I know what you mean about feeling a bit down about eating rubbish and getting "cuddly". I'm the same. Have awful cravings for carbs at the moment (putting it down to feeling pre-menstrual all the bastard time with Peri menopause hormones) and end up rifling in DSs snack cupboard mid morning afternoon. I was doing so well over autumn too...probably cos of the heatwave. If you find a magic cure that doesn't involve eating less or doing any exercise, please let me know!!! Cake

AFingerofFudge · 08/12/2018 08:56

sheep thank you- yes I too am "enjoying" that bastard peri menopause episode and all the joys it brings!! I go to Bootcamp 3 or 4 times a week but just can't keep the weight off in the same way Angry as I used to.

Laska2Meryls · 08/12/2018 08:59

fell off the thread.... I see youve been buying!..

Laska2Meryls · 08/12/2018 09:01

ill be back later though..

neveradullmoment99 · 08/12/2018 09:15

I think I am going to keep the red dress. I tried it on again and it is lovely. Thanks for all the positive comments. I love love love love love love they ws yellow skirt. Had it on yesterday and felt great in it.
I need to stop eating sweets now. Feeling a bit 'cuddly' myself atm. Remember a few years back prior to getting back down to a 12 my daughter in law referred to me as chubby :( Its what made me lose weight. Its so easy to gain, so hard to lose at my age. A cull on sweets is necessary BUT its like my shopping addiction. Just one more... and before I know it ive eaten all of it. And lets face it, its the wrong time of year for a diet [ for shopping and eating lol]

Happy birthday mini fudge Grin Cake

SoyYo · 08/12/2018 09:27

Morning!
never such a lovely Xmas tree!
I’m not saying a word on the red dress Wink okay if I must it does look great on you I’m expecting the black bell dress today so will report back on the quality/fit if that will help you make up your mind over the weekend.

fudge and not I’m the same as you re motivating myself to lose the extra half stone I’ve now carried all year Angry ... I do try the 5:2 diet but tend to loose a pound or two then can’t be arsed to continue and in my case I think it’s not so much eating wrong or too much but need to up my daily steps as working from home is very sedentary and don’t feel like going for walks in the cold evenings. I’m a much trimmer and happier person in the summer, I do struggle with cold winters every year and have lived in GB most of my life, there’s no cure for me other than moving to Spain in the winter which I do plan to do next year. It does depend on whether we sell our house here, and DH can retire as I can work from anywhere in Europe. We won’t move full time though as our DC are here and it’s best to continue with existing tax and pension contributions here.

I’ll pop in again to chat later. Have fun and try keep sane whatever Xmas prep you’re planning. My DH is looking a bit brighter this am but nowhere well enough to go to my work Xmas do, never mind I’m not upset it was just an excuse to dress up but equally happy to potter at home.

SoyYo · 08/12/2018 09:36

Posted before reading you never good call on the red dress! 👍
Yy on dieting this time of year, mission impossible! Let’s motivate each other to be good once Jan starts.
And wish minifudge has a great birthday 🎂 too!

NotAnActualSheep · 08/12/2018 10:01

Oh, what a shame about your DH soy but glad he's feeling a bit better. And after you went to all that effort to find the perfect silk blouse to go with your gorgeous sequins! Hope you find another occasion to wear the outfit even if just hoovering! It definitely sounds as if you have a plan for next year though, which is really exciting, moving to the next "stage" of life. And good that you can continue working for a bit and keep a foot in the UK to keep some continuity there.

I think it's the exercise that is lacking for me, and I do need to start doing more of. well, and cutting down the needless snacking Moreso after watching that mariella f thing on menopause and bone density etc. I'm sure my bones are doing that honeycomb thing, but the only exercise I have "enjoyed" ( swimming/ yoga stuff) doesn't do much for that I think. I'm just not a running/ Zumba kind of person really. And, yes, I have days at work where I don't leave the house, which isn't good for step count or mental health, really!

On the clothes front, I love the bargainous stretchy h and m trousers Gin suggested. And also the cosy jumper. On me, I don't think they work together, but I have the jumper on now with some straight jeans - and a long length vest, cos it is VERY short... but not quite cropped.

I also really like the hush primrose dress. It's got some strange cut- out detail down the centre seams on the front and back which isn't clear from the picture online ( I thought it was sort of embroidery) but it's not too weird. it's a good weight, and hangs well as its lined (would have to be, to stop the cut-outs being indecent!).

Also like the Ceres skirt, though not sure how much use it'll get after Christmas. Also, other than a black jumper, not sure how to style!

I'll post pictures if I get a chance this afternoon. The light had gone by the time I tried them on yesterday.

So glad you've decided to keep the dress never! You'll look great on Christmas day!

dontcallmelen · 08/12/2018 10:28

Never glad you have talked yourself into the red dress, tis lovely & colour really suits you.
Soy hope Dh feels better soon, shame about the night out but I second hoovering in sequins.
Fudge hope the weekend is a bit more restful & happy birthday to minifudge🎂
Not look forward to pics.

dontcallmelen · 08/12/2018 10:29

Laska hope you ok & cherries as well💐

Ellapaella · 08/12/2018 12:45

We've just been into Newcastle. Kids loved The Snowman themed window (will post a pic, it was magical!)
We went into John Lewis and DH and I have treated ourselves to some lovely new Egyptian cotton bedding, sheets, pillow cases and a duvet set. It's so luxurious, a real Christmas treat. Had to stay away from Hush to avoid further temptation..
I have been wanting to try Jo Malone Lime, basil and mandarin Perfume for ages as I have the candle dupe (Aldi) and love the smell. But while the perfume was lovely it had literally worn off smell - wise ten minutes later! The other perfume I tried I can still smell now 2 hours later, so I am not wasting money on Jo Malone - so expensive for a bottle as well! I'm glad I tried first.
My Christmas jumper has also arrived so I'll be sporting that later when we decorate the tree.

Christmas jumper - feels very good quality. Love the colours too.

Ellapaella · 08/12/2018 13:30

Please excuse my terrible slippers! Ddog has a slipper fetish and chews them to death so I don't buy decent ones anymore!

neveradullmoment99 · 08/12/2018 14:03

Pictures look great. Lovely and Christmassy.
Love the jumper @ella. You look fabulous in it :) Lovely colour and great with jeans. I had my WStuff one on today with my grey skinnies.

neveradullmoment99 · 08/12/2018 14:05

I agree with Jo Malone. I have tried it and it fades quickly. Did you know about the perfume parlour dupes? I have pomegranate noir and it is identical for a fraction of the price. Totally brilliant.

happytobemrsg · 08/12/2018 14:11

Can you lovely ladies help me? I'm trying to recreate this sort of look - I have the jumper etc but this skirt is out of stock. Anything else you would suggest? I like the idea of a baggy jumper & float skirt which I can wear with thick tights & boots.

Ellapaella · 08/12/2018 14:17

@happytobemrsg how about This skirt instead? Still in stock and would go very well with the jumper and boots.

Ellapaella · 08/12/2018 14:19

I didn't know about perfume parlour Never thanks! I settled for Calvin Klein beauty instead - this is one of my very favourite fragrances and I haven't had it for a few years. That's going to be an Xmas present.

They cannot call it by its original name as it is copyright.

Definitely good for work perfume. Then I can save the good stuff for evenings out and special occasions etc. I also love Estée Lauder Knowing - will see if I can find a dupe on that site.

neveradullmoment99 · 08/12/2018 14:52

Yeh, put in estee lauder. If you put in the actual perfume knowing, it probably wont find it. If you put in estee lauder, you can find it easier.
