Budget foundation- which one?

I'd like to buy a cheapish foundation or tinted moisturiser essentially just for our work xmas do which is coming up. I never really otherwise wear it, hence wanting to spend a small amount. (£10?)

Has anyone had success with a 'chemist' foundation or tinted moisturiser?

I'd like it to be light and give me a bit of glow, rather than thick or heavy. My skin is normal to dry.

In the past I've applied no7 tinted moisturiser with my fingers (!) so any tips on simple application gratefully received!

Thanks.

I have dry skin and only want light to medium coverage. I really like lumi magique, it's about a tenner and not mask like, fairly glowy.

Thanks!

Do you apply with fingers? (Real make up novice)

Primark does good foundations I think the one I use is called my perfect match, £3.

Cheesymonster · 21/11/2018 17:24

I love Garnier BB cream. I can rub it on with my fingers so no faff. It makes me look healthy, sometimes foundation makes me feel “overdone”.

MotorcycleMayhem · 21/11/2018 17:25

NYX Professional foundation is about £6-8, and I rate must of their products so I'd start there. They seem to have counters in most larger Boots or Debenhams these days.

MotorcycleMayhem · 21/11/2018 17:27

*most

However, I admit I stick with Clarins fake tan drops and moisturiser. More expensive, but I use it more often as I hate the feeling of foundation and BB creams.

ismellsnow · 21/11/2018 17:30

the ordinary do a great cheap foundation that's way to apply and gives good coverage

ismellsnow · 21/11/2018 17:30

*easy not way

MrsMattWillis · 21/11/2018 17:33

I use illamasqua skin base when I want heavy coverage but when I want something to make my skin 'dewy' I use revlon Bb cream . It's about £5 and I apply it with a beauty blender (you can get these for 1.50
In primark)

BB cream from Aldi is good!

HotdogsareDogs · 21/11/2018 18:04

I use my fingers. I've bought foundation brushes and fancy sponges but always go back to fingers

sirmione16 · 21/11/2018 18:11

Some make up artists actually say to use fingers (clean of course!) to apply foundation or a tinted moisturiser... so... :) I use number seven and have dry skin, is £12.50

Ballbags · 21/11/2018 18:12

The Ordinary full coverage foundation. £5.50 and really good.

DeadCertain · 21/11/2018 18:27

Aldi BB cream is great.

gerbo · 21/11/2018 19:27

Thanks all. I'll try to get to a boots and sort myself out!

hey. Avon is really cheap for things like that. Their True colour one is good

Revolution fast base stick foundation from Superdrug.
It's a fiver!

This foundation is so soft and buttery, a couple of swipes is all you need, and it will blend beautifully with a sponge or brush (I use a damp sponge), or you can use your fingers.
It gives such a skin like finish, but the coverage is awesome, although I use it where I need it for the most natural look.

I set it with powder after, really pressing the powder in with the same damp sponge.
It lasts all day long, and looks great as the day goes on. No caking, or creasing, even under the eyes.

I love it!

Wings13 · 21/11/2018 20:20

I love bourjois- really light but good coverage. Use it for day and night

Beautifullymixed · 21/11/2018 20:24

Also, Maybelline fit me matte and poreless foundation.
Which is not matte and heavy at all, but rather light, and gives a skin like finish.
You could also use your fingers, although it gives a beautiful smooth finish with a damp sponge.
Another bargain at £6.99, and you only need a small bit at a time.

Branleuse · 21/11/2018 20:29

i like the maybelline matte mousse one in a pot. I really like how easy it is to apply

princessbear80 · 21/11/2018 20:29

I never really wear foundation, but wanted some for a wedding I was going to. I asked for a sample at a Lancôme counter, and they happily gave me one after matching me for the right colour. Was enough in there for at least 5 applications, so will probably last me more than a year!

Ellapaella · 21/11/2018 20:32

Bourgeois CC cream is amazing.

chapthedoor · 21/11/2018 20:34

Rimmel Wake Me Up (orange lid) sounds like what you need. It's a light/medium coverage and glory

stoplickingthetelly · 21/11/2018 21:09

The bourjois serum foundation is really nice. I apply it with my fingers too. I find it the best way.
