Budget foundation- which one?

I'd like to buy a cheapish foundation or tinted moisturiser essentially just for our work xmas do which is coming up. I never really otherwise wear it, hence wanting to spend a small amount. (£10?)

Has anyone had success with a 'chemist' foundation or tinted moisturiser?

I'd like it to be light and give me a bit of glow, rather than thick or heavy. My skin is normal to dry.

In the past I've applied no7 tinted moisturiser with my fingers (!) so any tips on simple application gratefully received!

Thanks.

Bourjois cc cream for light-medium coverage on a budget. Kind to over 30s skin too, as doesn’t settle in lines.

Limited shades, though.

Never had a Bourjois foundation or c c Cream that wasn't good. Their healthy mix serum foundation is great, but the c c cream seems to have disappeared from my local Boots and Superdrug recently. Hope it's not discontinued.
