I can put my finger on it. She had her third child 9 months ago. We have the same age children as her (ours are each a month older though) and I look pretty damn rough at the moment too. Something to do with not having slept for the best part of a year I suspect .

My eighty something granny had long grey hair that was put up. I think long hair is lovely in a short style.

It is easy to hide behind long hair; it becomes part of your identity.

Long hair is beautiful - kept mine until last year whan I finally went for a more 'grown-up' style - HATE IT, HATE IT. ABSOLUTELY ANS TOTALLY REGRET IT. Everyone in house hatss it too. Make sure that you are 100% certain before you do anything drastic.

Got all mine cut off at 27 as im getting too old for long hair!! plus mine is v fine so gets in bad condition when past shoulders.

Think you should not really have it long once past mid 30s though...you kinda look older and frumpier and deffo more mormon like!!!

OK, I'll admit I have once been accused of being a Mormon - but I was 25 at the time and it was because I couldn't dance.

But, there are plenty of older woman have long hair and it doesn't look frumpy. One of my previous bosses was in her 60's. SHe was always incredibly stylish, in fact the envy of all the women around her and she had beautiful, glossy long hair.
